2. DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES
Digital technologies are resources used to find, analyse,
create, communicate and use information within a digital
context. This involves the use of web, media and
programming tools as well as software applications.
3. HOW DID I USE DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IN MY
WORK?
Digital technology was frequently used throughout
the coursework process. Taking photos for my
magazine involved using a Canon 55OD, creating
the magazine involved using different programmes
such as InDesign and Photoshop, which was also
used when editing photos.
The internet played a big part in the media
coursework, from researching other magazines,
collecting images and uploading work onto my blog.
4. CREATIVITY
Relating to or involving the use of the imagination
or original ideas to create something.
5. HOW DID I USE CREATIVITY IN MY
COURSEWORK?
Creativity was used when making the magazine as
I needed to take my own ideas and put them onto
paper, such as colour schemes, fonts, layout and
the types of images used.
These ideas had to be meet the specifications in
the design brief as well as appealing to the target
audience.
6. RESEARCH & PLANNING
Research: systematically investigating into the
study of sources and materials with the purpose of
establishing facts and reaching new conclusions.
Planning: . A scheme, program, or method worked
out beforehand for the accomplishment of an
objective.
7. HOW DID I USE RESEARCH AND PLANNING IN
MY COURSEWORK?
Before creating the magazine we had to research
other magazines of the same genre to learn about
the conventions of the magazine. This was done
through analysing, questionnaires filled out by other
students and collecting data about the target
audience, for example their social class, their
interests and hobbies and what clothes they wear.
Planning was key throughout the coursework
process as we had to manage our time to ensure all
the work was completed on schedule.
8. POST PRODUCTION
In digital video, photography, television and film,
post-production refers to the tasks that must be
completed or executed after the filming or shooting
ends. This includes tasks such as the editing of raw
footage to cut scenes, insert transition effects,
working with voice and sound actors, and dubbing.
Post-production is the third and final step in film
creation, It following pre-production and production
phases.
9. HOW WAS POST PRODUCTION USED IN MY
COURSEWORK?
After the photoshoot, the editing that I did links to post
production, such as making the skin on the model
smoother to give the photographs a more
professional look. In addition to this I changed the
background on a long shot so that it was just in
black and white, with the model in colour.
