2. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
Unlike the AS project, Photoshop was less involved as
the main focus of this years task was a video, where
Photoshop would not be helpful. I used it for certain
tasks to edit photos I had taken, such as for the Digipak
and the album advert. Certain tools I used included:
Blending tool – to make skin smoother to make it look
more professional
Feathering – when cutting out images it gave it a
smooth edge so it didn’t look jagged, which would
create a less authentic look.
Magic Wand & Quick Selection tool – to highlight certain
images to transfer from one file to another, such as
taking an image of the artist from a photo to put onto
the digipak.
3. ADOBE INDESIGN
Similar to Photoshop, Adobe InDesign did not play such
an imp0ortant role in my work, although I did use it for
certain tasks, including the Digipak and the album
advert. This programme is useful as it enables me to
create a professional looking text, in this case an advert
and a digipak. In addition to this I also used it when
creating a profile on the artists I was basing my music
video on, presenting this profile as a magazine to make it
seem more appealing and to make my blog more
interesting.
4. ADOBE PREMIERE
I would be using this programme to compile and edit all
of my footage. I have used this programme for previous
tasks therefore it is familiar to me. It is quite simple to
use, simply dragging and dropping the necessary
footage onto the timeline, and then cutting it down to
the correct timings. An issue that certain students
struggled with was lip syncing, making sure that the
video was in time with the audio, but I did not have this
problem and felt it was easy.
