1. AUDIENCE RESEARCH SURVEY-
RESULTS
This presentation is all about our findings from our
audience research survey, mainly consisting of the most
important questions.
2. QUESTION 1 -GENDER
The pie chart shows the dominant
gender which is female, where 75% of
our participants are female. However
we don’t want to just focus on this one
particular gender has young boys can
also be pressured in relationships
therefore our audience is aimed at both
female and male late teenagers.
However although our target audience
is mainly focused on females we will
make the music video also relatable for
males.
3. QUESTION 2 - AGE
To find out the ages of our participants we used to an open question so we could get the exact age of all
our participants. The following numbers present the ages of each participant.
16,19,14,18,20,15,25,14,16,19,21,18,18,32,15,18,15,17,17,17
Therefore with the youngest being ages 14 we decided to use this as the first age for our target audience
however we believed we wouldn't be able to target our audience from 14-32 which is the age of the
oldest participant.
Considering the message and the deeper meaning the song is portraying we decided the highest age
would be 20 therefore 14-20 is the age of our target audience. The people of the ages 14-20 are to
more associated with first serious relationships and to feel the pressure of sexual nature whereas people
who are aged 21 or above are to be able to not fall by the pressure.
4. QUESTION 3/4
• Question 3
• We used an open question “ What is your favourite genre?”
using this enabled us to get a perspective of the audiences ideal preference with 35% choosing R&B and the other 40% stating
POP we decided to combine both genres together seeing as our participants stated that these were there favourite, despite 20%
saying grime and another 5% saying Indie.
• Question 4
From the following options below we found that love/relationships followed by break ups. With almost 80% of our participants
choosing both of these options each time we decided to focus on these two themes.
- Breakups
- Dance
- Inspirational
- Love/Relationships
- Partying/Clubbing
5. QUESTION 11- FAVOURITE MUSIC
VIDEO
Once again this open question enabled the participants to type freely their favourite music
video therefore we had no idea to what their favourite video will be. The list below presents all
the music songs:
- The 1975/ Choclate x 3 -John Legend/ All Of Me x2
- Miley Cyrus/Party in the USA - Justin Bieber/ love yourself
-Justin Bieber/Baby - Mariah Carey/ Fantasy
-Meghan Trainor/ All About That Bass - Ne-Yo/ So sick
- Chainsmokers/ Closer -Katy Perry/TGIF x2
- Beyonce/ Hold on - Lilly Allen/LDN
- Cascada/ Everytime We Touch - Alessia Cara/ Here
- Justin Bieber/Sorry
6. QUESTION 12- STORYLINE
Setting Frequency
Daytime/Everyday life 8
House Party 6
Urban Nightlife 5
Studio 1
Dark Woods 0
This Question is vital for the setting and scene of our video and gives us a good insight to what
our audience likes. It is clear that our audience doesn't like the setting of the dark woods
therefore will we ensure we don't use that location. However the top three are the locations we
will consider. We can tell that our audience like to see a daytime/everyday life as this is relatable
to the audience and also as our target audience will be aimed at 14-20 year olds which is the
age most considered to go to a party therefore the top two locations will be our main settings
for our music video.
7. QUESTION 10 –GENDER OF THE ARTIST
The pie chart to the left presents the amount of
participants who want the artist to either be female or
male. We can see that the most category with 14 people
choosing female, therefore our main artist will be female
however regardless of this outcome our artist would have
been female due to the song being sung by a female
however these findings back our decision.
