2. QUESTION 1: HOW OLD ARE YOU?
Our results showed that the majority of our
audience will be in the 15-17 range, with some
audience members ranging from 18-21. Primarily,
Georgia and I were going to have a target
audience of 15-25. We realise now that this
grouping is far to large, at a difference of 10
years, and due to our results, we can see that the
upper limit for our audience’s age will be 21. This
will make the range be from 15-21.
3. QUESTION 2: WHAT IS YOUR
GENDER?
As you can see in the bar chart, there is a higher
number of female audience members than there
is male. We guessed that this would be the
outcome, so we will continue to include the
story-line based around the female characters,
as women are more likely to watch our music
video than men. We will consider including a
male actor in our work to represent the
percentage of male audience members.
4. QUESTION 3: ARE YOU IN FULL-TIME
EDUCATION?
As all of the people who took the questionnaire
are in full-time education, we can say that they
are reasonably young (with exceptions when it
comes to university). We will be representing
this group of people firstly due to the fact we,
the producers of the music video, are also
young. In our music video, we will include
different friendships as difficulty between
realising if a relationship is abusive or not seems
to happen a lot to younger people. (As well as
older people of course.)
5. QUESTION 4: WHAT GENRE OF MUSIC
DO YOU LISTEN TO THE MOST?
From the results, the genre of pop, mainstream
and alternative music is the most popular in our
audience. Even though our song technically
classes as Electronic R&B, both genres ranking
the lowest in our survey, our song, Like I Would
is still seen as popular as the song is extremely
mainstream, as the artist, Zayn has peaked at No.
1 in the charts for his single Pillowtalk, and in the
top 30 for Like I Would.
6. QUESTION 5: WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC
VIDEO DO YOU PREFER?
The majority of answers chose illustrative as their
preferred style of music video. This fits in nicely
with the idea we have as we are telling the story
of a relationship, like in the story of Like I Would.
The only difference is we will be focusing on a
friendship rather than a romance, therefore we
will be using the style of amplification also.
7. QUESTION 6: WHERE DO YOU LIKE MUSIC
VIDEOS TO BE SET IN GENERAL?
As you can see, the majority of results were for a
city location. This is excellent news for us as we
can easily access Bristol City Centre, and were
planning to film there anyway. We believe this to
be a popular location as the centre of Bristol is
very well-liked by younger people, and is quite
modern so it is aesthetically pleasing.
8. QUESTION 7: WHAT IS YOUR
FAVOURITE MUSIC VIDEO AND WHY?
From the wide range of results we received, we
are going to try keep the plot simple. To make
sure people watch it repeatedly, we will try to
make the story line engaging, but also include a
number of quick cuts so the shots are harder to
see, requiring multiple views. The setting is also
important, and from the last question we know
that the location of in the city is popular. Colour
is another point that is brought up, so we will try
to include colourful lighting when filming, and
edit the content colourfully too.

9. QUESTION 8: OUR MUSIC VIDEO IS GOING TO BE TO
THE SONG LIKE I WOULD BY ZAYN. WHAT TYPE OF
VIDEO WOULD BE APPROPRIATE?
Amplification and Illustrative were the most
chosen types of music video. As a result and as I
have already mentioned in question 5, we will be
including an amplified story version of the song
Like I Would. We will mainly be drawing the story
from the line “he won’t treat you like I would”.
This is where we change the story from romantic
to friendship.
10. QUESTION 9: IS THERE ANYTHING
EXTRA WE SHOULD ADD?
Special effects and colourful lighting were the
most popular choices for this question. We are
going to include both, as with other music videos
that are produced in the Electronic R&B genre
both lighting and special effects when editing are
prominent.
11. QUESTION 10: WHAT WOULD THE
MAIN NARRATIVE BE?
The most popular choice here was romance.
Georgia and I have decided to ignore this
response as we believe it will be easier for us, and
for the actors to portray a friendship over a
romantic relationship. We would also like to stick
to the method of amplification and we think that
using a friendship would be better.
