2. I believe that my media product has a clear audience as the
inspiration is clear in showing its target audience. To begin I feel
the imagery is very symbolic of the stereotypical rock fan, this
should be enough to show the target audience. Also the
mentioning of 75% off Loud and Ripley clothing shows an
understanding of the target audiences tastes in clothing and
where they would personally shop. It also shows readers that the
fact it has 75% off means other readers would have a low
disposable income meaning the amount of money they have to
spend on items is low. My readers would have a quite music
filled life therefore the mentioning of gigs and new bands works
well for them as it would show them what gigs to go to and what
type of rock bands to listen to. Also the mentioning of the top 30
rock charts shows an understanding of what they would want to
read.
3. To collect information on my target audience I decided to make a
reader profile, the information collected off it helped a lot as I
feel I understood my audience better and know what to add into
my work. One piece of knowledge I received was that they like
the TV series ‘The Walking Dead’ one of my fonts is very similar
to the font used by the series therefore readers may think of the
series when reading, or when they see other stories in the
magazine. On all of my pieces of work I have included the
website as a part of the essential information, this is due to my
target audience using the internet a lot, either for music or social
media, I feel this connects with my target audiences as they
internet is taking over everything gradually so keeping up with
the world seems a wise thing to do.
