The institutional logo (Colombia pictures) show first with a smooth jazz song playing in the
background. This is also combined with a silhouette of the main characters (the people on the
posters) dancing in a cheesy way with a colourful screen behind them.
They start to bump in each other while dancing, which adds a comedic element to the film from the
start. It is also a very strong genre signifier which tells the audience that this is a comedy film.
This type of comedy is called slapstick comedy as they are creating humour from their action and how
they move.
Also, the transition on the screenshot on the left is very rare in movies. However, comedy genres are
known for breaking rules when it comes to film making.
Another thing I have noticed is the font is San Serif to give an informal to the film.
From the first conversation, we can immediately see that the two people speaking are clearly nerds
who are trying to get girls, as the first one is driving a cheap bad car and speaking on a very cheap
phone. Plus, he says that he did some research for next year and he figured out what website he wants
to subscribe to. He says its called “the vagtastic boyage” and then mentions that it is a porn website
which is the stereotype for a nerd that is desperately needs a girlfriend. (the age rating is 16 due to
sexual reference).
