Sherlock Holmes 1&2
Rock n Rolla
Snatch
Guy Ritchie was born in
Hatfield, Hertfordshire, UK on
September 10, 1968. After
watching Butch Cassidy and the
Sundance Kid (1969) as a
child, Guy realized that what he
wanted to do was make films.

Sherlock Holmes

Title Sequence of all the actors names shown for 4 seconds each time
the titles are shown in a book like they’re
telling a story, the music Is really up beat
and jaunty to suggest action. Same as the
other two films, all of the titles move into
each other by transitions.
All of the films are different genres and can
be recognised by the opening of the films
because of the colours, fonts, pictures and
music used even though they are of
different genres the films can be recognised
by the same director because of the
similarities introducing the characters at the
start of the film.
3. The opening of Rock n Rolla has the same style of
opening credits where they’re transitioned to
move into each other like a camera long take
moving on the other credit along with the
character which are cartoon like same as Sherlock
Holmes which look like it’s written in a film
Like the films Sherlock Holmes and Snatch which
he also directed, they are English/London films
which have a story and a background, for
example Rock n Rolla follows ‘ A London, a realestate scam puts millions of pounds up for grabs’
4. Similar to the film Rock n Rolla the film Snatch
involves London gangster Unscrupulous boxing
promoters, violent bookmakers, a Russian
gangster, incompetent amateur robbers
In all three films Sherlock Holmes, Snatch and
Rock n Rolla; Guy Ritchie has used easy moving
transitions, where all the titles move into each
other then show the character and their names, I
think he has done this because it goes well with
the music that he has decided to play in the
opening to create an up beat action mood to the
audience.
All of his titles are also shown in cartoon like then
used a graphic match which shows them in real
life, this is like a story in a book which is going to
be told through out the film.
