Basic Civil Engineering notes on Transportation Engineering & Modes of Transport
A2 Media - Digipak Mock Up
1.
2. • Long shot of lead singer sat on a bench from the back. This
can relate to Dyers paradox of being simultaneously present
and absent as the singer can be seen but his face cannot
and he is therefore more distant and not breaking the 4th
wall
• Album title written in serif font across the top of the bench.
The serif font should reflect the folk genre more as it holds
more traditional and older connotations and appears more
vintage
• Band name in their typical logo font at the bottom as this
was the position we had seen it in on the other albums
when carrying out our research
3. • Lead singer sat on the bench from the front view. This will
give the digipak a continuous aesthetic throughout as the
front and back panels relate to each other. This also causes
the singer to appear as present by using first person mode of
address whereas he is more absent on the front panel.
• The track listing will be positioned across the top, this is
slightly unconventional of many track lists as this one reads
left to right rather than numbers straight down in a typical
list format. We have decided to lay it out this way as we
came across this when researching the other Mumford and
Sons digipaks and thought this was effective.
4. • The inside panels will be the whole band and their instruments
by a tree
• This location should add to the folk atmosphere we are trying the
create as it is very rural
• They will be wearing vintage clothes such as blazers, flannel shirts
and brogues
• This will be positioned as a split in half image which will sit on
either side of the panel which holds the disc
• The disc will sit in the middle panel and will
be a simple aesthetic due to our previous
research
• The block colour of the disc will be white as
the album is called ‘sigh no more’ and this
connotes a fresh start
• The font will be the same as that on the
front panel to maintain continuity
