have to to forced leave in their job because of the company problem . te theory in the scene is
Reinforcement theory , because Estella doesn’t have a choice but to leave the company and find
another job . the next scene is when Estella and Trevor go out and had a chance get to know
each other more , the theory in this scene is Social Penetration Theory because they relationship
as friends deepens .
Woman of the Ruins
In the scene wherein after Maria was found in the sea shore and doesn’t remember
anything he was told that he was Pasyon’s wife and Pasyon believed that it was her and she have
to live with him , the best theory that fits this scenario is Reinforcement Theory , because she
was forced to live and be with Pasyon as everyone’s belief is that she is his wife.the next scene is
when Maria see an expert expecting that he will remember anything but they were wrong . and
the theory in this scene is Expectancy violation Theory . the next scene is when Pasyon keeps
keeping Maria that sometimes ends up in torturing , for believing that she might remember him
someday. The theory in this scene is Cognitive Dissonance.

in this scenario is Reinforcement theory , because George doesn’t have a choice but to accept the
job for the sake of his family . the next scene is when George and Roger go out to drink , and

because they get to know more about each other and their friendship relationship deepens . the
next scene is when Nayomi , the Japanese girl living nextdoor in his apartment had expected that
there is something more about her relationship with George , the theory in this scene is
Expectancy Violation Theory , because Nayomi expected that George also likes her , but she was
wrong because George only finds the relationship as friendship.

The movie seems to be in a time setting of Spanish era , in the entire movie it shows the
lifestyle of the Filipinos living at that time , it emphasizes the struggle for every Filipino in the
time of revolution of the Spaniards and later the American colonizers . the movie message is all
about the true identity of a Filipino in the time of Spanish era , as kulas travel all the way in
manila he was confounded by different definitions of Filipino . It originally referred to a person
of pure Spanish descent born in the country. However, the term evolved. A travelling Chinese
merchant born in the country is also called a Filipino. Being born in the country seems to be the
main criteria. The Filipino with a low standard of living are called indios , and are not given
much priority in the government, the followers and the one disgusted in the society . it shows the
young man , Kulas finds a worth they are y cause to live for , and that is serving and loving the
country , at the end Kulas realizes that Filipinos are the one who truly love and serves the
filipino nation , it is not enough that someone is claimed Filipino because he is born in the
country , because one should also love his country trough actions , Kulas then approaches group
of orphans , he remind them and made them realize that they are Filipinos , the movie
represents the filipinio people by focusing in the story of a indio but a real Filipino at heart . it
emphasizes the trait of a Filipino by being kind hearted yet strong faith and are ready for any
circumstances in life . an example theory that is portrayed in the movie , is the attribution theory ,
because in the scenario kulas see himself as one of the indios and as a low he behave like one of
them , as a servant and slave .
