1. Evaluation of our PPE Exam
Question 1: I feel that for this question I answered it to the best of my ability and I
explained well how the processes of our pre-production stage went in regards to
our music video. Throughout answering this question I linked it to the decisions
we made a as group and why we made these decisions and explained why some
ideas we had we decided not to go through with due to other issues. I also talked
about the different resources we used to help us make our decisions like our song
choice and special effects we would add, I spoke about how I felt the mood board
and synopsis we did really helped our progress. One the other hand I do feel if I
was to do this question again I could improve some aspects of my answer such as
making sure I explained each point I made as I feel in some areas I lacked in this. I
also feel I could have spoken about more of the things I learnt about during this
pre-production stage and how these things helped our group to make our work.
Question 2: For this question I feel I answered it well and included what genre
really is and why it’s needed to make something like a music video, film or TV
program as this is watchdecides your audience base and helps promote and
market the product. Another aspect which I thought I answered well in this
question was reality to the my groups music video genre as I talked about my we
are choosing to make a hybrid genre music video instead of using one type of
genre as we feel it will bring more or a target audience to our product. If I was to
do this question again I would try and add more detailed into this question as I
feel this question wasn't as detailed as the other two I answered. I would also try
and link the focus genre better than I did to my music video as although i did
speak about it I felt I did it so late and should have included my music video in my
opening paragraph.
Question 3: Personally I feel I answered my final question very well as I spoke
about a wide range of films and music videos and linked them to many different
examples of postmodernism. When answering this question I spoke about the
films 'They live' and 'Inception' along with the music video by Justin Bieber
'Where Are you Now'. I gave examples such as: simulacra and simulation,
bricolage, intertextuality, mise en abyme, homage and how culture 'eats itself'.
Along with these examples of postmodernism I also tried my hardest to link my
point to media terms within the film ormusic video so could focus on a specific
point instead of the whole piece. However I thought that some parts of my
answer weren't as great as it could have been and that there are things I could

2. improve on such as linking my final answer back to my original point, which would
help my answer make more sense. Another fact that I could improve on is to
make sure I use more media terminology and focus more on one specific
moment, as although I did this in some areas i feel others were quite vague and
therefore weren't the best way to get my point across. I feel next time I will also
talk about one more music video as I feel one more example would have made
my answer even better.
