2. Survey Monkey
I decided to conduct a survey using the website
‘Survey Monkey’- this allowed me to create as many
questions as I felt were needed and make them
specific to my main intentions and aims of my
product. I posted my survey onto social networking
websites such as Twitter and Facebook which allowed
me to attract the correct people for my target
audience. I currently have gained 26 responses from
my survey however I wish to get more to ensure that
my data is reliable and gives me more to work from.
Some of my feedback was extremely helpful and are
ideas I can use to adapt my music video to ensure it
appeals more to target audience. However, some
comments were unhelpful and things I cannot change
3. Question One- Please rate my music video on how
professional it looks. (1 being poor and 5 being
excellent)
The majority of my
responses rated the
professionalism as
4/5 which tells me that
my video is currently
of a high quality and
hopefully can only get
higher as it was
unfinished at the time
the survey was
published. Moreover, I
plan to try and
remove the 4 votes
for a rating of ‘3’ and
increase these when
it’s finished.
4. Question Two- How would you rate the different
elements of my music video? – Camera, Editing, MiseEn-Scene, Variety of shots, Props, Lighting, Visual
Progression
The majority of my responses within this question
were labelled as ‘good’ which means I still have
room for improvement. I will use all of the
responses ideas when conducting my next shootfor example, I can improve the lighting to make
sure all responses go up to the excellent band. I
found this question especially helpful as I could
then notice the differences
between all the
different aspects.
5. Question Three- What is the best element, in
your opinion, about my music video? Please
Explain
Similarly to
question three,
this allowed me
do notice the
difference in my
target audience’s
opinion on the
best section
which I could
then work onequally as
helpful.
7. Question Four- Do the visuals correspond
with the song/lyrics?
This question gave
me more
information about
my target
audience’s opinions
on the song and the
visuals as one unitthis gave me a
general overview so
then I could easily
establish whether
they thought it was
working or not so
then I could change
my video if needed
as it was only the
8. Question Five- Does the music video fit
with the genre of music and artistKodaline?
Following on from
question four, this
gives me more of
an overview of the
song, genre and
artist.
9. Question Six- Do the costume and props
suggest it was set in the 50s?
This question helped me to establish whether the
mise-en-scene aspects within my music video as
this was an essential element; as the majority of
the responses answered yes this told me that my
target audience believed these worked effectively
and it fit within the style of the 50s so my
research paid off.
10. Question Seven- Please rate my music
video overall, 1 being the lowest and 5 the
highest
This was an essential question for me as it
allowed me to gain a greater understanding of my
target audience’s overall thoughts on the music
video- there was also a section in which they can
write a comment for overall improvements and
adjustments
which will
ensure my music
video is the best
it possibly can be.
