I hate cats, I dislike the way they smell or always want to cuddle and their claws. Everybody has
their Monday rituals, sometimes it's coffee or jogging through the park, but mine is a little out of the
ordinary. It starts at six in the morning with me walking my 10 cats down Canal Street all the way to
Pet Central which is the best place in town to get cat food. I used to despise cats until a tragedy
happened and they were put into my care. This is my story about how I became the man on Canal

I remember going over to my Mom's apartment on that cold and soggy day in the middle of Fall.
Walking in the house the smell of felines struck my nose and I began to sneeze all over my Mothers

least they keep me company unlike you". Then she went into the kitchen to retrieve the roast she had

she told me about her day and how she had bought a new cat to which I replied in a frustrated tone
"You need to stop with all this cat stuff, I lost count after 7 and it can't be healthy for your breathing
in all this dandruff and cat hair". She bypassed my remark, then blurted out "I invited you over
because something happened today at the Doctors office" which puzzled me because usually I

One June 23rd we said goodbye to Miss Kermit, who the vet believed was suffering from liver

We have five cats that live in our house. This was not our original plan, but it turned out that way.
My family got two tortoiseshell–colored kittens, Kit–Fat and Minkie when I was nine and my sister
was seven. Two years later, we were preparing to move to the country, and our pastor's daughter had
three kittens to give away. Our pastor convinced us that we needed cats outside in the country. At
that age, Risa and I were greatly in love with kittens. Subsequently, three tabby kittens named Duff,
Muff, and Buff came to live with us.

Inappropriate elimination is the worst problem that multi–cat households have to deal with. We had
to replace our family room carpet due to the constant urination on it. Over the course of the years,
we have caught four of our five cats urinating outside their litter boxes.
The effect of a male cat upon the house can be unpleasant. Our male is neutered, but due to being
the dominant cat over four females, he feels the need to mark his territory. Every once in a while, he
will hose down a wall. Usually he will pick a wall in the laundry room, or else he will mark the
corners in the family room.
Finally, we have gotten this problem under control by not allowing the cats free run of the house.
This restriction was the only way to solve the problem., and it has worked. Our cats are only
allowed free run when someone is in the family room. At all other times, they are confined in the
laundry room, or workroom, or they are in either my bedroom or my sister's bedroom.
Many smelly cat litter boxes is another effect of having many cats. This is one of the most
unpleasant aspects of cat care. Keeping litter boxes clean so they don't smell requires work, but it is
vitally important. Cats like to have plenty of litter space. At one point, we had six litter boxes for
five cats. Now we have four due to managing the cats and curbing their free run of the house.

was a tiny tot, Lilly (our kitty) never left him alone. She loved him so much that she used to fast till
