2. Budget Sheet
Making sure you don’t overspend on one
particular aspect. To lead to cut-backs or
shortages in money later on in the
project. If the budget sheet is not done
correctly then you may have implications
and have to cut certain scenes, or reduce
the amount of special effects ect, having
consequences further down the line
3. Personnel sheet
So that the director and producers can
easily find the crew that they need. For
example if a sound guy is needed for a
scene and isn’t there then someone can
easily phone them. It’s easier to have all
of the crews details in one place so that
people can be informed and contacted
quickly, if they aren’t then this can lead
to a delay in filming and producing
resulting in major cost setbacks.
4. Call sheet
So crew and actors can be where they
need to be in order for the production to
run smoothly and effectively. If people
aren’t where they need to be then, the
production must wait until they are
there. It also means that no unnecessary
crew are around, for example the sound
guy, in a silent moment. This saves
money.
5. Shot list
Doing a shot list correctly speeds up the
post-production process. The raw
footage filmed is easy to organise and so
that it can be recorded. The fact that it
speeds up post-production means that
more time can be spent on other parts of
the production.
6. Locations permission
form
For legal reasons, any locations being
filmed in such as in cities or well known
buildings or areas and even in nature
reserves, require permissions for
whoever is in charge of the area. So that
when the production is released there are
no financial issues because of location
permissions.
7. Release consent form
To say you can use certain shots, with
individuals in. If the form is not signed
then you may have to drastically edit
certain scenes. The whole production
can’t be released without this form.
8. Risk assessment
To avoid financial implications. There
needs to be risk assessments at each
location. So that staff and crew are aware
of all of the risks present and how best to
avoid it.
9. Gant chart
To have a schedule of when all
paperwork needs to be completed by and
so the production runs far more
smoothly. Tells the crew their start and
end dates so that the production can run
smoothly and without delay.
10. Schedule
What scenes are being shot on what
days, so the actors know what time and
where they need to be. Avoids
unnecessary actors being present. Also
gives time management so scenes don’t
go over and lead to a delay in the whole
production.
11. Location recce
The location recce needs to record
certain information about the sites that
they visit. So that the director and
producer know what they are dealing
with at each location. The safety,
conditions and accessibility.
