3. In this case the mast head is ‘Q’ and it is the brand of this magazine. It has
been placed to the side of the magazine however it is still in a large red box.
The reason for this Is because this Is a well known magazine brand, by
making it large and eye catching they are hoping that it will catch attention
for people to then buy the magazine. There is also a very clever link between
the use of the colour red in the Mast head and the use of the red in the cover
line when using the word ‘Rocks’. This implies that they are saying that this
magazine is going to rock.
The text size that they have used for the cover line is also significant this is
because they starts of small leading to who the magazine is about, in this
case being ‘Cheryl Cole’, and then leading to the word ‘rocks’ of what is in the
bigger text showing that it is what they want people to foucs on more when
reading this.
4. ‘ The Uk’s biggest music magazine’
They have use this as their banner and they have
place right at the top of the magazine going all the
way across. The reason for this is because it is near
the mast head meaning it will grab the attention of
the reader due to it being near the brightest most
eye catching bit.
The reason for putting it in is because they want
people to know this as it will help ell the magazine
if they are being told that it is the best. It Is being
used to lure people in to reading the magazine.
5. On this magazine there are many different cover lines.
However on this magazine all of the cover lines have
been placed to either the far right or left of the
magazine. The reason or this could be because they
don’t want to take the attraction away from the main
story of the magazine and they don’t want it to interfere
with the image. The colours used for the cover lines is
based on the same colours used for the mast head. The
reason for this is because they are trying to link it in to
the masthead and no the main cover line. Giving the
impression that they are separate bits of information.
6. The puff that has been used Is to attract people
to read the magazine. The reason being
because they are playing this article as a special
feature for this magazine.
The colour scheme used for the puff links in
with the colour scheme for the whole magazine
however they have put it in a round light grey
circle in order for it to be able to stand about
within the cover.
7. On this magazine the main image is central to
the magazine. They have used the direct mode
of address within this image, the reason for this
is to connect to the audience in hope for them
to see it and buy the magazine.
Another reason for putting this central to the
magazine is because it Is addressing the theme
of their magazine this month.
