As directors, the document identifies various risks for their film shoot and strategies to prevent or overcome them. Key risks include illness/injury of actors or directors, actor conflicts, bad weather impacting outdoor shoots, equipment malfunctions or damage, low batteries, late props/costumes, poor actor performances, lighting issues, unavailable locations, trip hazards, and public interference. Strategies include having substitutes, rescheduling shoots, checking equipment, spare batteries/memory cards, booking locations in advance, being aware of surroundings, and monitoring equipment. Safety is a priority to avoid risks and ensure a successful shoot.
1. Risk Assessment
As directors we are responsible for most of these risks, but it is important to remember that general health, safety rules and common
sense should be adhered to at all times.

In the case of one of the actors
being ill, We will try to ensure we
have a possible substitute. If one of
us is we will hopefully still be able
to go on without them for that day.
Sometimes there may be
unforeseen circumstances in
which one of the actors or one
of us is unable to make the
shoot due to clashes.
Before the shoot I will
personally check the weather
forecast to make sure it fits with
our needs, if the weather is
heavy with rain or wind we
would have to reschedule our
shoot as that is just impractical
and could damage the
equipment.

We will make sure we bring at
least 2 spare memory cards of
16GB each, just in case there is a
fault with one or one gets filled
up. We also try to make sure we
completely clear them before
hand.
All of the technical equipment
we use will belong to the college
so it will be our responsibility to
make sure it does not get
damaged. But as it is the
colleges we will not be given
faulty equipment.
Hopefully the college will have
the cameras charged. If not
and/or the cameras die, we will
keep a spare battery also.
I can safely say this will not
happen as we will be prepared
and get them on time.
We will make sure we chose
people we know can play
instruments and/or act

(depending on their role), so
this should not happen.
We will check out the areas we
plan to film at ahead of time so
that we can see lighting. For the
studio, we will also see how it is
and we do not need anything
special.
We will have the studio booked
so that should not be an issue, if
something does happen we
hope the college will let us have
it another day, the outside
scenes will not be a problem as
the entirety of the outdoors
won’t be unavailable.
I’ll tell people to watch where
they are going and also tape
down lose wires.
We will make sure we keep n
eye on all of our equipment so
none of it is stolen and also
make sure we don’t have any
idiots sneaking into the shot.

We will try to make sure we do
not film in the rain as this can
damage equipment. We also
make sure we are all being
careful of it t make sure it stays
undamaged.
