This document lists various risks that could be encountered during the film shooting process and identifies responsibilities and strategies to address each risk. It outlines risks such as an actor being unavailable, equipment breaking, poor performance, unsuitable weather, limited memory or battery life, unavailable props, lighting issues, location problems, public interference, hazards on set, software crashes, and unsatisfactory video quality. For each risk, it identifies who is responsible and describes strategies like having backup actors, testing equipment, briefing actors, checking weather forecasts, managing memory and batteries, having backup props and equipment, adjusting lighting, limiting people on set, safety precautions, frequent saving, and reshoots if needed.

1. Risk Identified Shooting Location Responsibilities Strategy to
overcome/prevention
Unavailable actor All Everyone In case of an actor being unable
to turn up to shoot a scene due
to illness, injury or personal
circumstances, I will have
substitute actors ready to
replace them in order to not
slow down the shooting
process. If any of the shooting
team is ill we will try to film
without them.
Broken Equipment All Shooting team All equipment will be loaned out
from the college, meaning they
should all work. In order to
make sure that they do,
equipment will be tried and
tested before being taken out of
college. Unfortunately, a person
can take out only one camera at
one time. This means if it breaks
mid-shoot the shooting will
have to be put on hold until
another can be acquired.
Performance All Everyone The person who is mainly
responsible for their
performance is the actor.
However, it is also the

2. responsibility of the shooting
team as we must make sure the
actors that have been chosen
are sensible enough to get the
task done. It is also our
responsibility to make sure
actors are briefed enough to be
able to perform there role
adequately.
Weather Outside Shooting team In order to get a great shot
when outside, the weather
needs to be suitable. Before
shooting we will check the
weather forecast to make sure
the weather is suitable. If the
weather changes mid-shoot we
may have to consider putting
shooting on hold and deleting
the scene we recorded when the
change occurred.
Memory problems All Shooting team In order to make sure all of our
scenes can be shot I will use a
fairly large memory card. Before
filming we will wipe away any
unnecessary footage as well as
removing bad footage mid
shoot. This will let us make sure
there will be enough memory to
hold our shots. We will also take

3. a second memory card in case of
a malfunction.
Battery life All Shooting team In order to prevent the camera
from running out of battery
mid-shoot we will charge it the
night before the shoot, as well
as charging it as much as
possible when not filming and
near a plug socket. In case of
battery running out we will take
another battery to replace the
empty one.
Props unavailable at time of
shoot
All Shooting team Aidan will be making fake blood
so it is down to him to provide
that, however we will also take
a some pre-made blood which
won’t look as good just to make
sure the prop is available. If any
vital props are unavailable at
the time we may have to
consider rescheduling the shot.
Lighting All Shooting team We are hoping to achieve fairly
low-key lighting in our video.
When indoors this is easier to
control as we can just turn off
the lights/open the windows
accordingly. However, when
outside it is harder to control.
During outside scenes we want

4. the lighting to look fairly natural
but we also want it to have a
slightly dark feeling. In order to
achieve this we will have to
adjust the lighting of the outside
scenes during editing.
Location problems All Shooting team The majority of the locations we
have chosen should be safe.
However, some locations may
have some complications with
them. There are also the scenes
that will be shot in a small
bedroom. With the shooting
team and the actors having to fit
into that room we will have to
be careful and may have to
consider only having one
member of the shooting team in
their at a time.
Public interference Outside Shooting team During any outside scenes we
need to be careful of the people
around us to make sure we
don’t get too many
interruptions and to make sure
nobody attempts to steal our
equipment.
Hazards Indoors Shooting team A lot of our scenes that are
going to be shot indoors are
going to involve things such as

5. pieces of broken glass and
plates. When shooting these
scenes we will have to make
sure that actors are wearing
shoes so they don’t tread on
them. Also, some actors will be
required to lay on the floor next
to them so we will have to make
sure that they don’t get too
close. There is also an actor who
will be required to have fake
blood on their face so we will
have to be cautious as to not get
it in their eyes.
Software Classroom Shooting team We will be using final cut to edit
our video. As with any software
there is a risk of it crashing so
we will be saving our work
every 15 minutes in order to not
lose any work.
Video not being how we wanted All Everyone If any of the scenes are not how
we would like them we will ask
actors to reshoot scenes and
reshoot them, possibly changing
camera angles in order to get a
more convincing video. If the
problem with the video is actor
related we will have to consider
replacing them and reshooting

6. with someone else.
