1.  Brothers and sisters, we welcome you - an honor for which we cannot thank Allaah ‫ﷻ‬ enough.
 Alhamdulillaah, we have finished FOUNDATION 1 – Part 1. In shaa Allaah from today we are going to start
FOUNDATION 1 – PART 2.
 Please praise Allaah, the Almighty for assisting you to reach this far – it is a great honour. However, the road ahead is
still long and steep – but, with His help things always becomes easy. So seek His Help since you need it every step of
the way and you will find that just as you completed the first part of this Foundation and you are happy at what you
have learnt and the great achievement you came away with, we feel that FOUNDATION 1 – Part 2 is going to be
interesting and productive as well, by Allaah’s leave.
 Be Sincere! So, we just want to remind you at the beginning of this important step you are going to share in
partnership with us to be sure that your intention is straight and that you are still striving to learn this language for
Allaah, Alone so that you can be rewarded every step of the way, for every word you learn.
 Be Patient! We want you to know that it is going to be difficult as the 1st Part was – but just as you stuck to it and was
PATIENT to the end – if you stick with this, by Allaah’s leave, you will reach the end. So take it one step at a time – one
word at a time – one concept at a time and in the end the entire structure would be built –so be PATIENT, continue
STRIVING and keep focus on the goal – i.e. you are learning this magnificent language so that you can get closer to
Allaah by understanding the Quraan and the sunnah of His messenger SollAllaahu `alaiyhi wa sallaam in the language
He, the All-Wise chose to reveal it in.
 Make du`aa! Finally, always remember to BEG Allaah for His assistance throughout this journey.
FOUNDATION 1(B) – Part 2
Introduction

2. 1) In these 5 weeks in shaa Allaah, we want to change the approach slightly, although we
are still going to focus strongly on ‘the word’ –ٌ‫ْم‬‫س‬‫,اال‬ ‫الفعل‬ and ‫.الحرف‬ So, we want to be a
little more structured with the Grammar (Nahu) and the Sorf (which is changing the
source word into different forms in order to express different meanings that can only
be expressed through these forms).
2) We want you to be fully aware that vocabulary is essential for you to get a grip of the
any language – so it is essential that we really concentrate on that a lot from now on.
There is only one way to do this, MEMORIZE. So, it is essential that you memorize.
Alhamdulillaah, we are extremely special, since, as Muslims – we have to memorize so
many thing in Arabic –
 Aspects of Quraan – since we have to pray using the Aayaat of the Quraan and it is highly recommended to read
it as much as possible – every day, if this is possible (Shouldn’t we understand what we read?)
 Adhkaar that we have to use throughout our day, - every day of our lives! These beautiful words must be
pondered
 many du`aas - when we beg Allaah we need to beg with a conscious heart, this can only be done effectively if
we know what we are asking.

3. 1) So, based on what was discussed before we must commit ourselves to memorize whatever is
assigned to us everyday – in shaa Allaah, we would not make it much – since we just cannot
escape having to memorize.
2) So our approach in the 2nd part of this foundation is to give you something to memorize on
each video based upon those three areas mentioned above – (Quraan, Adhkaar and Du`aa) –
and, in shaa Allaah, on the video we would then explain the details of the structures of those
things you have to memorize. In shaa Allaah, the following would be some of the benefits that
you would achieve.
 Quraan – You would begin to understand what you recite from it during the Solaah and outside of it. You would begin to
get a first hand experience of what it is like to understand the Majestic words of Allaah, the Almighty. We would also try
to point out the errors in pronunciation so that we can read it better, in shaa Allaah.
 Adhkaar – we would make sure that the ones we teach you are correct, to the best of our abilities, in shaa Allaah. We
would also strive to cover most of the Adhkaar a Muslim has to be involved in – from now until the end of this entire
program. This includes, but is not limited to the Adhkaar in and around the Solaah, morning and evening Dhikr, etc.
 Du`aas - for specific situations and general du`aas, in shaa Allaah.
 The benefit of all this is that you would be memorizing the Arabic words from all of these sources and BE USING THEM,
and interacting with them constantly, in shaa Allaah – and most of all you would be doing it with understanding.

4. CONCLUSION
CONCLUSION: Our study of this language for these five weeks would still concentrate heavily on the
following:
I. A review of many of the concepts of Nahwu (Grammar) plus essential additional details,
II. Sarf – details with regards to roots and patterns with lots of practical exercises, in shaa
Allaah
The review and additional information relating to the 2 above sections should take us about 2
weeks.
In the final three weeks, we will start including memorization as a part of what is required from
you in shaa Allaah.
We hope and Pray that Allaah, the Almighty bless all our efforts and make this journey for us
and you a pleasant one, one which we enjoy as we go along, and help us to come out of it
understanding this Majestic language. Aameen
