TOPIC:-
1. Types of Computer.
2. Difference b/w computer
professional & computer user .
(or)
Difference b/w computer Literate
& computer competent .
Types of Computer
There are divided in to following three types of
computer .
 Analog computer
 Digital computer
 Hybrid computer
Types of Computer
Analog Computer
 The computer which
provide us information
in continuous form are
called analog
computer.
 Analog computer
represent physical
quantities such as
voltage pressure
speed temperature
 Its output is usually
displayed on a
graphs.
Characteristics of the Analog
Computer
There are following characteristics of analog
computer.
 Speed.
 No state (1) & (0).
 easy to develop & small memory.
 Calculate analog quantities.
 Result not reliable.
 Give output in the form of graphs.
Characteristics of the Analog
Computer
 Continuity in working
 Fewer function.
Analog Computer
Uses:-
 Used in engineering & Science,
 Used to calculate analog quantities.
Example:-
Thermometer, Speedo meter,
Sphygmomanometer etc,
Digital Computer
 A digital computer work
with digits.
 Everything is described
in two states i.e. either
on or off .
 The number 1
represents on & 0
represents the off
states.
 Given output in digital
format.
Characteristics of The Digital
Computer
These characteristics are following below
 Speed.
 Big memory.
 Reliable result.
 Calculate mathematical.
 Given output in digital format.
 Difficult to develop.
 Less electric power.
Digital Computer
These computer are
further divided into
difference types such
as,
 General Purpose:-
e.g. of
digital watch ,digital
cameras , PCs .
 Specific Purpose:-
e.g. use in
restaurants
,automobiles etc .
Digital Computer
Uses:-
 Used in all filed of life.
 Used in all calculation of mathematically
Example:-
Score Bore , apple Macintosh, Digital
petrol pump etc.
Hybrid Computer
 The computer
which have qualities
of both digital &
analog computers are
called hybrid
computer.
 Hybrid computer has
the speed of analog &
the accuracy of digital
computer.
Characteristics of Hybrid
Computer
There are the following characteristics of hybrid
computers.
 Reliable & Provide accurate result.
 Work fast & Speedy.
 Helpful in hospitals.
 Given output in both graphic & numeric
form.
 Both qualities in these computers.
Hybrid Computer
Uses:-
 Used in hospital (ICU) .
 Scientific laboratories .
 Used in petrol pumps .
 Used in industrial unit.
Example :-
ICU hospital computer .
Difference b/w Digital & analog
Computer
Analog Computer :-
 Slow Speed.
 Low memory.
 No State.
 Difficult to use.
 Less reliable.
 Use in Engineering &
Science.
 e.g. Analog Clock ,&
thermometer etc .
Digital Computer :-
 Fast speed.
 Big memory.
 Two State.
 Easy to use.
 More reliable.
 Use in all field of life.
 e.g. Digital Laptop &
Digital Camera etc .
Difference b/w Professional &
User Computer
Professional Computer :
 Someone who is an
expert in the field of
computer science.
 A person with an
advanced degree in
computer science &
computer engineering
User computer :-
 A person who uses
computers for work or
entertainment or
communication or
business.
 Computer user dose
not advanced degree
in computer science
& computer
engineering.
Difference b/w Professional &
User Computer
Professional
computer :-
 The computer
professional is the
one who made the
software’s
applications, etc.
 Some examples: A
software engineer
working in Microsoft is
a computer
professional.
User Computer :-
 The computer user is
the one who uses the
things produced by
the computer
professional.
 Some example: A
computer user using
the applications like
MS office; computer
games etc.
Difference b/w Professional &
User Computer
Example:-
Those
types of person who
dealing with computer
at least 2 or 3 years
or they have a
degree. Degree is a
most important part
for a computer
professional.
Example :-
Those
types of person who
dealing with computer
since 10 years but on
one program they are
the computer user.
Like WORD, POWER
POINT etc.
Difference b/w Computer literate
& Computer competent
Computer literate :-
 Computer literacy means
the knowledge of
computing ideas and
terms and the ability to
perform basic tasks using
the computer .
 The computer
literate understand
the basics of
computer operations:
Computer Competent :-
 Computer competent
perform simple tasks with a
computer. Email, research,
interaction with others via
the internet.
 It requires some definite
level of expertise on one or
more aspect of computer &
dose not understand
computer operations.
Difference b/w Computer literate
& Computer competent
For Example: -
Turn on
power; use a
keyboard; run
an application; send
an email, surf the
web, etc.
For Example: -
. Email,
research, interaction
with others via the
internet. Creating and
editing documents,
spreadsheets and
maybe a slide
show (PowerPoint).
Thank you
