The document studies the seismic capacity of reinforced concrete buildings with three types of moment resisting frames: special ductile frames (SDF), intermediate ductile frames (IDF), and gravity load designed frames (GLD). Using incremental dynamic analysis, it reveals that SDFs exhibit higher ductility and lateral load capacity compared to IDFs and GLDs, and all frames are capable of resisting design earthquakes. Additionally, the research emphasizes the necessity for improved seismic detailing and standards in building construction to enhance structural resilience against earthquakes.
