The Koala Essay
The Koala
Inroduction
The koala is the Australian jewel. It has very furry, ash colored hair, a rubbery black nose, sharp
claws, fuzzy ears, and a grizzly personality, or should I say, koalality. If you kill a koala, you'll make
a million off their fur! They would sell the fur to coat companies and make coats out of koala fur.
Well, sadly enough, too many people are making millions on koalas. That's why they're endangered
species.
Habitat
The koala is distributed along the eastern coastal semi–tropical forests of Australia, ranging from
north Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and a small area in the south of Australia.
Breeding
The male...show more content...
It has slowed down a lot since it was first introduced to the koala population, but the virus is still
going around (chylamydia psittaci is an endangered virus.) The koala population is also still falling
due to destroyed habitats. The developers are coming into koala habitat and cutting down eucalyptus,
selling it and building homes. By the 2030's, the koalas will have no place to live. Now, sadly, in
Sydney, koalas must cross the street to get to another eucalyptus tree. They have to go to another
eucalyptus tree every once and a while because that tree is the same tree from the same forest.
A lot of koalas are now becoming roadkill.
General Information
The koala is a one of a kind animal. It is the only one of its kind.
There are two sub–species of koala though, in which there is the tiniest difference. The southern one
has a darker colored fur than the northern because it is colder in the south. The koala has only one
relative, the wombat. Koalas and wombats share a common ancestor from some 25 million years ago
on the landmass Lauasia (an ancient landmass that separated to make South America,
Africa, and Australia.) Most people think that the koala is related to bears, that is not true, the
koala is an aboreal (tree dwelling) bear. Most people also think that the koala is not harmful, that's
wrong. The koala is more like a grizzly bear than a teddy bear. The koala is dangerous

Reflection Paper About English Composition
English Composition I has developed my style of writing and my skills analyzing and
researching topics to write a piece about a topic. Throughout the course, I got better at analyzing
articles and pieces to get the meaning of the topic. With that improved skill I was more able to
use the information given from the text and install it into my essays, with proper citation if
needed. Before taking the English Composition course, I was not one to organize my essays in an
ordeal order to clearly state the point of the work. Now with taking the course, I have learned to
organize my essays, examine research for a topic, and develop an essay with proper mechanics, and
revising skills. In writing my personal, review, analytical, and cultural...show more content...
I then described my life and who I was. After describing this, I explained my experiences in
confronting racism. The point of the essay was to state that racism is still alive and can be present
anywhere. After writing this essay, I learned that my mechanics and style was not where it should
be. Even with the revisions Mr. Heldenfels made in the draft, I still made mistakes with mechanics
and tense shits. I had written comma splice and has several spelling mistakes. I looked to improve
my mechanics after writing this essay.
With writing my review essay of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's album The Bigger Artist. The essay
took some time to write because of the research I needed to gather. In this essay I used more
citations and quotes. I made mistakes the mechanics in writing the quotes. This was the first essay
in which we used sources, so it was challenging to create my own ideas but I was able to do it.
Writing this essay improved my knowledge of mechanics in citations and quotations.
Through taking the course, I learned to utilizes sources in a more efficient way. In writing my
analytical essay of Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly I had to use ten sources. All the sources
I used provided different information, some provided more than others, but all sources were
needed to complete the essay. In collecting all the information for the essay, I had to research who
created the source and decide if it was credible. This essay assignment force me to examine works in

Essay about Gymnastics
Gymnastics is a sport that requires strength, flexibility, dedication, and determination. However,
gymnastics also requires the ability to be graceful and delicate. For many years people have been
dedicating themselves to this sport, training for either artistic or rhythmic gymnastics. The sport of
gymnastics has been around for many years. Originating around 2,500 years ago makes it one of
the oldest sports. People believe that the first "apparatus" used was actually a bull. Men would grab
onto the bull's horns and when they were thrown in the air they would try to perform the best stunt
before landing (Gutman, 1). Gymnastics originated in Greece where they believed that physical
fitness was very important, but only to men. It...show more content...
Along with the previous activities he added the parallel bars and the pommel horse (Gutman, 6). In
modern gymnastics there are two different types, one of them being artistic gymnastics. For female
gymnasts there are four different events: floor exercise, uneven bars, vault, and balance beam
(Gymnastics, 1). When they compete gymnasts usually perform on all four of the events. The
first event is the floor exercise. Gymnasts perform on a square spring floor covered in carpet.
They can either perform a required routine, which shows only the basic skills, or an optional
routine, which allows more difficult skills and more creativity. A floor routine consists of
tumbling, leaping, and stationary displays of balance, strength, and flexibility, along with
graceful dancing. All of this is performed to music with no words (Gymnastics, 1). The second
event is the uneven bars. The uneven bars are two wooden or fiberglass rails held on uprights.
The high bar is seven feet above the floor, and the low bar is five feet above the floor. Gymnasts
swing from one bar to the other by executing releases and catches. The dismount, which is usually a
flip or twist from the high bar, finishes the routine (Gymnastics, 4). The third event is the vault. A
gymnast runs down a runway, jumps on a springboard, and performs flips or twists off the vaulting
horse. The runway is typically sixty–five feet long, and the horse is four and a half feet high
(Gymnastics,

Reflection Paper On Grammar
Flash Backs Grammar. A confusing concept to my own mind while walking into a new class, yet
an intriguing topic to learn throughout a course. In the beginning of the semester, I worried a lot
about my success in this course because my own grammar, rhetoric, and style of writing needs
work. I knew this class was going to put my prior knowledge to the test, but I was beyond ready
for the challenge. As I continue throughout the course I become more aware of the grammar in
writings and the purpose that grammar serves in order to successfully display the message.
Between a poet's decision to capitalize an improper noun, or an author choosing to use an ellipses
rather than just ending showcases the use of grammar and what it can tell the audience about the
written work. Before this semester, I would have told you that I did not feel very confident with the
usage of grammar; I may have had past experience with writing and attempting to use grammar, but
the task still overwhelms and troubles me. Definitions. Definitions of words change and evolve
throughout time, and the same goes for grammar and its definition. To come into a classroom that
revolves around instructing and learning grammar and its process, I had no idea how exactly I
would fit in with my classmates. The teacher asked us what we thought grammar was; originally I
thought the definition of grammar was the proper way to include symbols for writing like commas
and the use of different sentence structures in a

Compared to commercialized coil, LEMOCALYNURE KATOL cannot sustain its flammability

Argumentative Essay On Special Education
Introducation
Special Education is a topic of controversy with many advocates fighting for the justice children and
adults with special needs so rightfully deserve. With laws being passed and modified so frequently, it
is important that the educators being brought into the world have an extensive knowledge of the
developmental needs of many different types of children. With this knowledge and their constant
measures to keep up to date with the fast–moving world of education, they will be able to deliver an
appropriate atmosphere that is in accordance with the law that ensures ethical practices and
guidelines are always being followed.
Legislative, Thoerietical, Historical
Our country's Legislative system has set many laws in place to protect the educational rights of all
students, which allows for students to have a greater opportunity for educational success with
funding levels varying between the states. Hooper and Umansky's book, Young Children with
Special Needs, states that the majority of early childhood intervention programs began under the
"umbrella of Maternal and Child Health (MCH)," which was put into place in 1935 in accordance
with the Social Security Act. The Americans with Disabilities Act and theIndividuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are two programs stemming from this historical piece of
legislation. The Americans with Disabilities Act was an anti–discrimination law that allowed for
more students to have access to certain facilities and resources giving them a better chance to
succeed in their education. IDEA made it mandatory for the state to provide special education
service programs for children between the ages of three and five. The parents with children who
are included in IDEA typically receive grants to help them fund their child's education. Another
piece of legislation that is widely utilized in classrooms today is the Individualized Family
Service Plan (IFSP). This plan develops a plan of action for the family with children that receive
special education services and allows the information to further assist the child beyond school
grounds. In use today is the Affordable Care Act (2012) that allowed for programs to be funded that
look to prevent and care for children

CTE Essay
CTE affects many different athletes all over the world. Chronic Traumatic encephalopathy or
normally referred to as CTE is a brain disease that affects people who have had multiple head
injuries. It is found in many cases of ex NFL players who took many hits to the head when
playing over their careers. There are many documented cases of it across other sports and some
military veterans as well. We have made large strides in learning more and more about the terrible
disease. The game of football has changed since we have learned so much more about the terrible
disease in recent years. We could prevent concussions by changing the way players practice. CTE is
developed by taking multiple blows to the head which is why many retired football...show more

Hits inside the tackle box, however, will not fall under the new guidelines (Breslow)." This rule
change will help prevent as many hits with the head as previously because players won't want to
get penalized and hurt there chances of winning a game. It will hopefully lower the number of
concussions per game from running backs because they currently get 1 in every 9 concussions in
the NFL (Breslow). This new rule was created to lower that number and prevent as many every
season. I think a bigger change that we could make is having players learn to tackle at practice
without helmets on. There was a study done by the University of New Hampshire football team
and The National Athletic Trainers Research and Education Foundation where they tested the
impact of players practicing with helmets and some without. The goal of this study was to see if
helmetless practice would teach players to not tackle using their heads which currently is a main
reason why players get concussions. They had the control group practice with helmets on, while the
intervention group did not wear shoulder pads or helmets. They completed a five minute drill and
the purpose of not wear pads or helmets was supposed to teach the players to learn to tackle without
using their heads in a way that they could be injured. They found substantial evidence that this
helped prevent head injuries, it resulted in a 28% reduction in head injuries over the course of the
football season for

Grit Essay Examples
Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength
of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with
grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to
overcome obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost
any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face.
However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to
obtaining grit is to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective.
By doing this, one can focus on the task at hand...show more content...
I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year
I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times,
lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I
set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when
I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team
won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The
transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of
becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I
wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people
that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being
physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone
has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to
an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use
the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe
that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent
are just the starting point.

Chapter 1 Study Guide
Chapter 1 1. The difference between opinion and facts is that an opinion can be used as a topic of
an essay. An opinion makes the essay more interesting for the reader. However, facts can not be
used as a topic since there will be no one to persuade, making the essay less interesting 2. Facts
may not be used as a topic for an essay, but facts do provided the support for an opinion. If an
essay does not obtain facts then it would all be base on unproven emotional feeling. Therefore,
facts are need because it makes the essay stronger and shows the reader the impartial aspect of the
topic sentence. 3. Not all opinion is good.Opinion may prove an author view point. It makes the

difference between a typical term paper and an essay is that most term papers just gives facts, an
essay is your opinion about your topic. 7. The weakness of Edison Invented the Electric–Light Bulb
is that it is not an opinion, only fact. For B is a universally accepted fact. For C is again a fact, for
a better topic consists of a value judgment about this statement. For letter D is an argument that
would be too ridiculous to go against. For letter E, this paper would only give information, no
opinion at all is stated. Chapter 2 1. The difference between a thesis and an opinion is that a thesis i
your opinion boiled down to one arguable statement. Thesis is normally in the front. 2. The five–step
for narrowing a general subject to a thesis are: 1. take inventory–what do you know 2. ask questions
3. Look for relationships 4. Ask the yes–or–no question 5. Quality–what degree (always,
never, many, most) 3. The value of the of the yes–or–no question allow you to decide if your position
is defendable. It is also easier to make a thesis sentence, the question will help develop a specific
view point. The yes–or no question will help

Argumentative Essay On Anxiety
"Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy." (www.healthy place.com)
Many people have trouble accomplishing what they want to do in life because of health issues. A
main health issue people suffer from is anxiety. There are different types of anxiety disorders you
can have. Each one of them hold you back from doing what you want to succeed in life and may
even cause you to make bad choices.
Anxiety is losing yourself from reality and being disconnected from the present moment, other
people, and yourself. It can keep you from doing things you want to accomplish in life. Achieving
your goals is tough enough, but if you suffer from anxiety it becomes even more difficult. I was

After talking about how anxiety can keep you from accomplishing life goals and how its a big
health issue, here are the different types of anxiety. Some people can say all they have is anxiety
but they all dont have the same disorder. There are many different types you can have. There is
generalized anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive, and panic disorder.
Anxiety – part of the body's natural reaction to stress – can even be helpful at times, making you
more alert and ready for action. But anxiety disorders differ from normal feelings of anxiousness.
When feelings of fear or nervousness become excessive, difficult to control, or interfere with daily
life, it's called an anxiety disorder. (www.everydayhealth.com) . This evidence relates to the types
of anxiety because it is telling how anxiety can make you feel and act.
Some people may say that anxiety isn't the main cause of people not wanting to accomplish
things or why they have bad health issues. They say it could also be depression or how they are
living their life outside of the public. That may be the cause but I personally have an anxiety
disorder and it is keeping me from doing thing I always talk about doing but of course I never end up
doing it because of my disorder. It causes problems with your mind and body

Global Warming Argumentative Essay
Global Warming: Myth or Fact? The Global Warming theory has become increasingly popular over
the past few years. Citizens of the world are being encouraged to be more environmentally conscious
by others including politicians, celebrities, and world organizations. The problem with the theory
lies in the fact that it has become more and more controversial as it gains publicity and attention. The
basic concept behind this theory is that the earth was made with a balance of "greenhouse gasses".
These gasses are naturally occurring within the atmosphere and they essentially make the planet
habitable by keeping it warm. When the world became more industrialized, the amount of carbon
dioxide that was being emitted into the atmosphere...show more content...
The more people habituating the planet, the more potential there is for emission of greenhouse
gasses. In short, the basis of this argument other than years of documented research and scientific
discovery is what harm could we do by being more conservative in our use of energy and other
entities that produce more than their share of greenhouse gasses? The answer as it stands now is
none. The harmful effects of ignoring this crisis are all but proven fact. The problem that the pro–
global warming theorists have created is that of social standing and little else. While there may be
scientific backing to support some of the theory, the media presents the problem with great
sensationalism. Global warming and energy conservation has thus become a trend and losses some
of its validity through this. The scare tactics used by the media to "promote awareness" are just that,
a linguistic ploy to gain favor. "Awareness of this global threat reinforced public concern and
environmental problems and thereby provided environmental activists, scientists, and policy makers
with new momentum in their efforts to promote environmental protection." (McCright, 2000) This
statement draws line to the potential benefits that would be received if the pro–global warming
theorists were to draw enough attention to the issue. Driven by social empowerment and conviction
to environmental protection, these activists misrepresent the actual threat and paint it as being much

Teen suicide is something that is endless, it will never stop but if everyone was educated on it, it
could help prevent deaths. I think with people provided with statistics and further information
can help avoid adolescent suicide attempts. I think most teen suicide cases could be prevent if we
knew the signs to look for and the ways to stop it. I believe parents would feel safer if they knew
knowledge on the issue and how to handle it. The intended audiences for this essay is parents or
friends of suicidal teens. This essay is important because, as mentioned earlier, we need to be
educated on suicide to end tons of tragedies. It is also important to be aware of the warning signs
to help prevent. This essay is relevant because teen suicide is a war that happens daily, and will
continue to happen, until we take control of the situation and do something to stop it. If family
members were informed of the cause and symptoms leading up to the attempt of suicide, then there
is less likely that teenagers would try and commit

Psychology Paper 1 Critical Thinking
Critical thinking In this study, the professor asked 15 students in his Introductory Psychology class

did not volunteer did not take the pill. This was not random assignment because this subject was not
an unbiased division, and the professor didn't create equal groups; therefore, it could affect the result.
In general, volunteers do better than non–volunteers because volunteers have more motivation than
the people who didn't volunteer. For example, in the "tutoring study", people who signed up for

If a student keep getting the same GPA every semester, and after he took the pill, he got a higher
GPA. Then the pill matters. However, the fact is students' GPA is going up and down all the time
on its own. Furthermore, the essay scores can't inflect if the pill is functional or not because an
essay test is not like a multiple choices test. A Multiple choice test has a standard answer, so
students can get a certain score. However, different teachers can give a same essay different score
because every teacher has his or her own way to grade it. In short, the test result in this study was
not reliable. In addition, the experimenter bias affected the result indeed. every professor wants his

knew who took the pill and who didn't in the beginning of this experience, so it is unfair. When the
students in the experimental group which the students who took the pill ask a question, the
professor want to answer it as detailed as possible because he should make sure that the students in
this group are doing well. On the other hand, when the control group which the students who didn't

placebo effect also has affected the result. As we know, human beings are bizarre. When

Essay on Wildfires
A wildfire is any instance of uncontrolled burning in grasslands, brush, or woodlands. Wildfires
destroy property and valuable natural resources, and may threaten the lives of people and animals.
Wildfires can occur at any time of the year, but usually occur during hot, dry weather. Wildfires are
usually signaled by dense smoke which may fill the air for miles around. The National Weather
Service, U.S. Forest Service, and State forestry agencies combine to give wildfire probability
forecasts. Local radio and television stations broadcast information and warnings on local fire
conditions. Wildfires pose an increasing threat to the residential United States. In 1987, 53,000 fires

On the actual day of the fire, the fire planners will again check such conditions as wind and
moisture content in the vegetation. The wind direction will determine where the fire is started. Fire
crews start the burn with a device called a drip torch. A drip torch is a can of fuel with a
flame–carrying wick at the end. When the crewmember tilts the wick toward the ground, a flame
streams out and ignites the vegetation. Most of the effort that goes into a prescribed fire is making
sure that it is contained in the boundaries set for the fire. Firefighters and fire suppression equipment
are near the site if the fire grows out of control (www.nps.gov/wica/fir–why.html, pgs. 1–3).
While not all the effects of prescribed burns are known some are very evident. The first of these
common effects is that vegetation and fallen dead material are burned creating an open forest floor.
This eliminates any fuel that could contribute to a high intensity fire in the future. When the fire
burns the organic material in the forest, nutrient rich ash is left behind. When the first rain comes,
the nutrients in the ash dissolve into the soil for the new plants to use. This process is called
nutrient recycling. These nutrients left in the soil are a good source of food for the young plants
that will begin to grow back. Another outcome of prescribed fire is that new growth begins
immediately after the fires have been extinguished. Within

Essay about the human brain
In this paper one will learn the different parts of the brain and their functions. Although the brain isn't
the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how
complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has
main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia
holds the lentiform and the caudate.
The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain
on the things going on with the human body. The brain is split in to two main parts, the left and the

The corpus callosum is a bundle of nerves that connects the two hemispheres. The area that passes
and processes information concerning touch, pain, temperature, and pressure on skin is the
thalamus. The limbic system controls your behavior and emotions. It is involved in emotions such
as fear, rage, pleasure, and sorrow. In the prefrontal area of the frontal lobe emotional traits are

cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for
analyzing data, performing memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and
making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in muscle movement. The
cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain.

Thesis Statement : Global Warming
Thesis Statement: Global warming is a growing concern of scientists and researchers who believe
that it is a serious problem for our planet. The concerns and research have also been questioned and
have even been called myths. Millions of people find themselves affected by these weather pattern
changes and are concerned for their futures. Activists on both sides of the argument are very
passionate and not afraid to attack each other in every way they can. There are many questions that
are still not answered, however, we continue to see drastic weather changes to Earth. We must go
beyond the arguments and learn as much as we can to stop what could possibly lead to the
destruction of our planet, our way of life and our future.
Global warming is concerned with an average increase in the temperature of the atmosphere and the
increase in the Earth 's surface temperature primarily due to the emission of greenhouse gases from
the burning of fossil fuels. As for the processes of global warming, they can occur from a variety of
causes. The causes include the things that are concerned with natural and human factors.
Some people believe that global warming is a myth or hoax. They believe that global warming is
being used to generate fear and panic and that those behind this movement are using it to control
people 's lives and for financial gain. "Within the community of scientists and others concerned about
anthropogenic climate change, those who are skeptics are more commonly termed

  • 1. The Koala Essay The Koala Inroduction The koala is the Australian jewel. It has very furry, ash colored hair, a rubbery black nose, sharp claws, fuzzy ears, and a grizzly personality, or should I say, koalality. If you kill a koala, you'll make a million off their fur! They would sell the fur to coat companies and make coats out of koala fur. Well, sadly enough, too many people are making millions on koalas. That's why they're endangered species. Habitat The koala is distributed along the eastern coastal semi–tropical forests of Australia, ranging from north Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and a small area in the south of Australia. Breeding The male...show more content... It has slowed down a lot since it was first introduced to the koala population, but the virus is still going around (chylamydia psittaci is an endangered virus.) The koala population is also still falling due to destroyed habitats. The developers are coming into koala habitat and cutting down eucalyptus, selling it and building homes. By the 2030's, the koalas will have no place to live. Now, sadly, in Sydney, koalas must cross the street to get to another eucalyptus tree. They have to go to another eucalyptus tree every once and a while because that tree is the same tree from the same forest. A lot of koalas are now becoming roadkill. General Information The koala is a one of a kind animal. It is the only one of its kind. There are two sub–species of koala though, in which there is the tiniest difference. The southern one has a darker colored fur than the northern because it is colder in the south. The koala has only one relative, the wombat. Koalas and wombats share a common ancestor from some 25 million years ago on the landmass Lauasia (an ancient landmass that separated to make South America, Africa, and Australia.) Most people think that the koala is related to bears, that is not true, the koala is an aboreal (tree dwelling) bear. Most people also think that the koala is not harmful, that's wrong. The koala is more like a grizzly bear than a teddy bear. The koala is dangerous Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Reflection Paper About English Composition English Composition I has developed my style of writing and my skills analyzing and researching topics to write a piece about a topic. Throughout the course, I got better at analyzing articles and pieces to get the meaning of the topic. With that improved skill I was more able to use the information given from the text and install it into my essays, with proper citation if needed. Before taking the English Composition course, I was not one to organize my essays in an ordeal order to clearly state the point of the work. Now with taking the course, I have learned to organize my essays, examine research for a topic, and develop an essay with proper mechanics, and revising skills. In writing my personal, review, analytical, and cultural...show more content... I then described my life and who I was. After describing this, I explained my experiences in confronting racism. The point of the essay was to state that racism is still alive and can be present anywhere. After writing this essay, I learned that my mechanics and style was not where it should be. Even with the revisions Mr. Heldenfels made in the draft, I still made mistakes with mechanics and tense shits. I had written comma splice and has several spelling mistakes. I looked to improve my mechanics after writing this essay. With writing my review essay of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's album The Bigger Artist. The essay took some time to write because of the research I needed to gather. In this essay I used more citations and quotes. I made mistakes the mechanics in writing the quotes. This was the first essay in which we used sources, so it was challenging to create my own ideas but I was able to do it. Writing this essay improved my knowledge of mechanics in citations and quotations. Through taking the course, I learned to utilizes sources in a more efficient way. In writing my analytical essay of Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly I had to use ten sources. All the sources I used provided different information, some provided more than others, but all sources were needed to complete the essay. In collecting all the information for the essay, I had to research who created the source and decide if it was credible. This essay assignment force me to examine works in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay about Gymnastics Gymnastics is a sport that requires strength, flexibility, dedication, and determination. However, gymnastics also requires the ability to be graceful and delicate. For many years people have been dedicating themselves to this sport, training for either artistic or rhythmic gymnastics. The sport of gymnastics has been around for many years. Originating around 2,500 years ago makes it one of the oldest sports. People believe that the first "apparatus" used was actually a bull. Men would grab onto the bull's horns and when they were thrown in the air they would try to perform the best stunt before landing (Gutman, 1). Gymnastics originated in Greece where they believed that physical fitness was very important, but only to men. It...show more content... Along with the previous activities he added the parallel bars and the pommel horse (Gutman, 6). In modern gymnastics there are two different types, one of them being artistic gymnastics. For female gymnasts there are four different events: floor exercise, uneven bars, vault, and balance beam (Gymnastics, 1). When they compete gymnasts usually perform on all four of the events. The first event is the floor exercise. Gymnasts perform on a square spring floor covered in carpet. They can either perform a required routine, which shows only the basic skills, or an optional routine, which allows more difficult skills and more creativity. A floor routine consists of tumbling, leaping, and stationary displays of balance, strength, and flexibility, along with graceful dancing. All of this is performed to music with no words (Gymnastics, 1). The second event is the uneven bars. The uneven bars are two wooden or fiberglass rails held on uprights. The high bar is seven feet above the floor, and the low bar is five feet above the floor. Gymnasts swing from one bar to the other by executing releases and catches. The dismount, which is usually a flip or twist from the high bar, finishes the routine (Gymnastics, 4). The third event is the vault. A gymnast runs down a runway, jumps on a springboard, and performs flips or twists off the vaulting horse. The runway is typically sixty–five feet long, and the horse is four and a half feet high (Gymnastics, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Reflection Paper On Grammar Flash Backs Grammar. A confusing concept to my own mind while walking into a new class, yet an intriguing topic to learn throughout a course. In the beginning of the semester, I worried a lot about my success in this course because my own grammar, rhetoric, and style of writing needs work. I knew this class was going to put my prior knowledge to the test, but I was beyond ready for the challenge. As I continue throughout the course I become more aware of the grammar in writings and the purpose that grammar serves in order to successfully display the message. Between a poet's decision to capitalize an improper noun, or an author choosing to use an ellipses rather than just ending showcases the use of grammar and what it can tell the audience about the written work. Before this semester, I would have told you that I did not feel very confident with the usage of grammar; I may have had past experience with writing and attempting to use grammar, but the task still overwhelms and troubles me. Definitions. Definitions of words change and evolve throughout time, and the same goes for grammar and its definition. To come into a classroom that revolves around instructing and learning grammar and its process, I had no idea how exactly I would fit in with my classmates. The teacher asked us what we thought grammar was; originally I thought the definition of grammar was the proper way to include symbols for writing like commas and the use of different sentence structures in a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. Argumentative Essay On Special Education Introducation Special Education is a topic of controversy with many advocates fighting for the justice children and adults with special needs so rightfully deserve. With laws being passed and modified so frequently, it is important that the educators being brought into the world have an extensive knowledge of the developmental needs of many different types of children. With this knowledge and their constant measures to keep up to date with the fast–moving world of education, they will be able to deliver an appropriate atmosphere that is in accordance with the law that ensures ethical practices and guidelines are always being followed. Legislative, Thoerietical, Historical Our country's Legislative system has set many laws in place to protect the educational rights of all students, which allows for students to have a greater opportunity for educational success with funding levels varying between the states. Hooper and Umansky's book, Young Children with Special Needs, states that the majority of early childhood intervention programs began under the "umbrella of Maternal and Child Health (MCH)," which was put into place in 1935 in accordance with the Social Security Act. The Americans with Disabilities Act and theIndividuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are two programs stemming from this historical piece of legislation. The Americans with Disabilities Act was an anti–discrimination law that allowed for more students to have access to certain facilities and resources giving them a better chance to succeed in their education. IDEA made it mandatory for the state to provide special education service programs for children between the ages of three and five. The parents with children who are included in IDEA typically receive grants to help them fund their child's education. Another piece of legislation that is widely utilized in classrooms today is the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). This plan develops a plan of action for the family with children that receive special education services and allows the information to further assist the child beyond school grounds. In use today is the Affordable Care Act (2012) that allowed for programs to be funded that look to prevent and care for children Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Chronic Traumatic encephalopathy or normally referred to as CTE is a brain disease that affects people who have had multiple head injuries. It is found in many cases of ex NFL players who took many hits to the head when playing over their careers. There are many documented cases of it across other sports and some military veterans as well. We have made large strides in learning more and more about the terrible disease. This rule change will help prevent as many hits with the head as previously because players won't want to get penalized and hurt there chances of winning a game. It will hopefully lower the number of concussions per game from running backs because they currently get 1 in every 9 concussions in the NFL (Breslow). This new rule was created to lower that number and prevent as many every season. I think a bigger change that we could make is having players learn to tackle at practice without helmets on. There was a study done by the University of New Hampshire football team and The National Athletic Trainers Research and Education Foundation where they tested the impact of players practicing with helmets and some without. The goal of this study was to see if helmetless practice would teach players to not tackle using their heads which currently is a main reason why players get concussions. They had the control group practice with helmets on, while the intervention group did not wear shoulder pads or helmets. They completed a five minute drill and the purpose of not wear pads or helmets was supposed to teach the players to learn to tackle without using their heads in a way that they could be injured. They found substantial evidence that this helped prevent head injuries, it resulted in a 28% reduction in head injuries over the course of the football season for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Grit Essay Examples Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to overcome obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face. However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to obtaining grit is to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective. By doing this, one can focus on the task at hand...show more content... I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times, lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point. • 11. Global Warming Argumentative Essay Global Warming: Myth or Fact? The Global Warming theory has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Citizens of the world are being encouraged to be more environmentally conscious by others including politicians, celebrities, and world organizations. The problem with the theory lies in the fact that it has become more and more controversial as it gains publicity and attention. The basic concept behind this theory is that the earth was made with a balance of "greenhouse gasses". These gasses are naturally occurring within the atmosphere and they essentially make the planet habitable by keeping it warm. When the world became more industrialized, the amount of carbon dioxide that was being emitted into the atmosphere...show more content... The more people habituating the planet, the more potential there is for emission of greenhouse gasses. In short, the basis of this argument other than years of documented research and scientific discovery is what harm could we do by being more conservative in our use of energy and other entities that produce more than their share of greenhouse gasses? The answer as it stands now is none. The harmful effects of ignoring this crisis are all but proven fact. The problem that the pro– global warming theorists have created is that of social standing and little else. While there may be scientific backing to support some of the theory, the media presents the problem with great sensationalism. Global warming and energy conservation has thus become a trend and losses some of its validity through this. The scare tactics used by the media to "promote awareness" are just that, a linguistic ploy to gain favor. "Awareness of this global threat reinforced public concern and environmental problems and thereby provided environmental activists, scientists, and policy makers with new momentum in their efforts to promote environmental protection." (McCright, 2000) This statement draws line to the potential benefits that would be received if the pro–global warming theorists were to draw enough attention to the issue. Driven by social empowerment and conviction to environmental protection, these activists misrepresent the actual threat and paint it as being much more Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Psychology Paper 1 Critical Thinking Critical thinking In this study, the professor asked 15 students in his Introductory Psychology class to volunteer to take the smart pill at the start of the semester. The other 15 students in the class who did not volunteer did not take the pill. This was not random assignment because this subject was not an unbiased division, and the professor didn't create equal groups; therefore, it could affect the result. In general, volunteers do better than non–volunteers because volunteers have more motivation than the people who didn't volunteer. However, the fact is students' GPA is going up and down all the time on its own. Furthermore, the essay scores can't inflect if the pill is functional or not because an essay test is not like a multiple choices test. A Multiple choice test has a standard answer, so students can get a certain score. However, different teachers can give a same essay different score because every teacher has his or her own way to grade it. In short, the test result in this study was not reliable. In addition, the experimenter bias affected the result indeed. every professor wants his or her study be successful, and they want themselves to be famous. In this study, the professor knew who took the pill and who didn't in the beginning of this experience, so it is unfair. When the students in the experimental group which the students who took the pill ask a question, the professor want to answer it as detailed as possible because he should make sure that the students in this group are doing well. On the other hand, when the control group which the students who didn't get the pill ask a question, he could refuse to answer it or say the question is stupid. Moreover, placebo effect also has affected the result. As we know, human beings are bizarre. When Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Wildfires destroy property and valuable natural resources, and may threaten the lives of people and animals. Wildfires can occur at any time of the year, but usually occur during hot, dry weather. Wildfires are usually signaled by dense smoke which may fill the air for miles around. The National Weather Service, U.S. Forest Service, and State forestry agencies combine to give wildfire probability forecasts. Local radio and television stations broadcast information and warnings on local fire conditions. Wildfires pose an increasing threat to the residential United States. In 1987, 53,000 fires consumed more than two million acres. By October 1988, almost...show more content... On the actual day of the fire, the fire planners will again check such conditions as wind and moisture content in the vegetation. The wind direction will determine where the fire is started. Fire crews start the burn with a device called a drip torch. A drip torch is a can of fuel with a flame–carrying wick at the end. When the crewmember tilts the wick toward the ground, a flame streams out and ignites the vegetation. Most of the effort that goes into a prescribed fire is making sure that it is contained in the boundaries set for the fire. Firefighters and fire suppression equipment are near the site if the fire grows out of control (www.nps.gov/wica/fir–why.html, pgs. 1–3). While not all the effects of prescribed burns are known some are very evident. The first of these common effects is that vegetation and fallen dead material are burned creating an open forest floor. This eliminates any fuel that could contribute to a high intensity fire in the future. When the fire burns the organic material in the forest, nutrient rich ash is left behind. When the first rain comes, the nutrients in the ash dissolve into the soil for the new plants to use. This process is called nutrient recycling. These nutrients left in the soil are a good source of food for the young plants that will begin to grow back. Another outcome of prescribed fire is that new growth begins immediately after the fires have been extinguished. Within Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The concerns and research have also been questioned and have even been called myths. Millions of people find themselves affected by these weather pattern changes and are concerned for their futures. Activists on both sides of the argument are very passionate and not afraid to attack each other in every way they can.
