1. Difficulties In Writing Essay
Writing an essay on the challenges associated with essay writing is a paradoxical endeavor, akin
to navigating a labyrinth of self-reflection and irony. The inherent difficulty lies in the very
subject matter itself, as one must grapple with the irony of articulating the intricacies and
obstacles of the very task they are engaged in. It is akin to a writer attempting to depict the
intricacies of a tangled web while being entangled within it.
The process of dissecting the difficulties in writing an essay reveals a multifaceted tapestry of
challenges. From the inception of ideation to the culmination of coherent expression, every
phase presents its unique hurdles. The initial struggle often arises in the form of topic selection,
an ordeal that demands a delicate balance between relevance, interest, and feasibility. The writer
must navigate through the vast sea of potential subjects, all while being mindful of the pitfalls of
ambiguity and over-explored themes.
Once a topic is chosen, the journey takes a precarious turn into the realm of research. The
challenge here is not merely in the collection of information but in the discernment of credible
sources amidst the ocean of information available. Distinguishing between reliable data and
speculative content demands a critical eye, adding a layer of complexity to the already intricate
process.
With research in hand, the writer faces the daunting task of structuring thoughts and ideas
coherently. This demands a finesse in organization and a meticulous attention to detail. The
narrative must flow seamlessly, each paragraph serving as a stepping stone in the logical
progression of ideas. However, achieving this harmony is no small feat, and writers often find
themselves wrestling with the arrangement of concepts, struggling to strike a balance between
depth and conciseness.
The challenge does not conclude with the last word typed; revision and editing loom as
formidable adversaries. The ability to objectively critique one's own work, identify weaknesses,
and implement improvements requires a certain level of detachment, a skill that is, ironically, a
challenge in itself. The constant oscillation between self-critique and self-assurance becomes a
mental tightrope walk.
In the grand tapestry of difficulties in writing an essay, each thread intricately weaves into the
next, creating a complex narrative of challenges that writers must navigate. This exploration of
the difficulties, however, mirrors the very process it seeks to dissect, culminating in an essay that
reflects the struggle and triumph of the written word.
In the pursuit of overcoming these challenges, it's worth noting that assistance is not only
available but also a prudent choice. Similar essays, along with a wealth of resources and
guidance, can be sought from platforms such as HelpWriting.net, providing a lifeline for those

2. Skeleton Vs Spider Research Paper
Skeleton An undead hostile mob with ranged attacks that burn when exposed to
sunlight. Since it is normally equipped with a bow, it is more difficult to kill
compared to a zombie and other monsters that only attack when you re near them.
When defeated its usual drops are bones and arrows. At times it may also drop
equipment it s using (usually a bow). A skeleton may sometimes be found riding a
spider, in which case it is called a spider jockey. Do not sprint towards it. This will
make you more vulnerable to being hit by a skeleton s arrows, and consequently
make it more difficult for you to approach it. The right way to close the gap
between you and a skeleton is to strafe, which means moving side to side instead of
going straight towards it. Circle it when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To avoid being hit altogether, equip yourself with a bow and arrows and try to kill
a skeleton by shooting it at a distance outside its search range. Spider A spider is
considered a neutral mob because it won t attack you during the day unless you hit
it. But when nighttime comes, it will turn hostile. It is one block high and 2
blocks wide, uses a jump attack, and has the ability to climb. When killed, it may
drop a spider eye and/or string. Walk backwards when attacking it. This will allow
you to evade a spider s jump attack while dealing damage to it at the same time.
Cave spider The cave spider exhibits the same behavior and has the same drops as
the regular spider. However, it is blue in color and smaller, making it more flexible.
Its bite also has the added effect of inflicting poison, so it is considered deadlier
than its bigger counterpart. It is found underground in abandoned mineshafts. Be
prepared. If you re going mining underground, take shears, swords, and/or a bucket of
water with you. These will allow you to get rid of cobwebs which will slow you
down and make you more likely to die at the hands of a cave spider. Remember,
spiders mobility is not affected by

Ltd
Introduction
The purpose of this final report is to summarize my experiences as an intern at
Anslow Bryant Construction, Ltd. I will discuss the internship orientation and
preparation, activities and experiences, and the application of technology. I will
continue on to the energy and environmental awareness, and sustainable construction,
and communication shill enhancement. I will conclude this report with legal and
ethical issue awareness, lessons learned, and the overall assessment and
recommendations of the internship.
Internship Orientation and Preparation
The internship orientation was a three day process. The first day was spent with the
human resource department reviewing the employee handbook and completing
employment forms. I took a tour of the office and was introduced to the project
managers, estimators, administrative assistants, and the IT department. I was taken
out to lunch by the same managers that interviewed me at the career fair. The
second day was designated for safety. I watched an OSHA video and reviewed the
company s safety manual. Once I completed the video and read through the manual
I was able to receive my PPE. Typically on the second day of the orientation, the
safety manager takes the new employee to visit a jobsite to view safety hazards and
proper safety practices. Due to poor weather conditions, I was unable to attend the
safety site visit. On the second day I was scheduled to go to lunch with the executive
team. The third day of orientation

Australia is a a multicultural country. That is because it has had an increased
numbers of different come to live here for many different reasons.. They have all
called themselves Australians and had accepted Australia as their new home.
Although the perspective of accepting a different race/culture has changed, racism
still exists in Australia. Australia s indigenous people were the first victims of racism
in this country. For about 50,000 years before the settlement of the British, Australia
was occupied exclusively by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. After the
settlement of the British, the European legal concept of Terra Nullius was used which
let white settlers gain economic and political control over the land up until... Show

Many legislations were passed to outlaw racial discrimination in the public area of
Australia.
Social Darwinism is colonialist thinking and was one of the main ideals that gave
grounds for the creation of the White Australian Policy. Charles Darwin was the main
discoverer of Evolution which was a concept in biology that attempts to explain how
life forms change over time. Social Darwinism directly declares that particular
biological groups of human beings are naturally superior than other groups. This is
somewhat connected to the term survival of the fittest , the evolutionary theory that
some races were fit or unfit to survive some tests, making some beings better at
surviving the environment they live in. This was what justified the view of how the
British Colonialists determined the Indigenous as biologically inferior and were unfit
to survive this environment and made the notion that they would eventually die out.
The First Chinese Immigrants into Australia dates back almost 200 years. It was seen
at first as immigration that was a solution after labour was scarce in 1832 New South
Wales, although the extent of immigration remained low until early 19th Century.
The Australian Gold Rushes were what first attracted thousand of Chinese
Immigrants to the country. By 1861, the Chinese community was already flourishing
and made up nearly 7% of the Victorian Population [7]. As the gold slowly ran out,

5. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Gold And Platinum
Claire Kaneshiro Homeroom 9B October 10th, 2017 The Benefits and
Disadvantages Use of Gold and Platinum Alloys to Replace Nickel Containing
Alloys in Jewelry Nickel is a common metal used to produce alloys for jewelry, yet
nickel allergy is prevalent, affecting approximately 30% of the population
(Rothenberg). For those with the allergy, nickel causes an immunological
hypersensitivity response on the area of contact, resulting in symptoms of dermatitis.
Although, nickel is not a classic allergen, as it doesn t cause the body to produce
excess antibodies (IgE) that prompt cellular production of chemicals inducing the
reaction. Instead, studies show that nickel itself can act as a stimulator of the cells,
activating the expression of dendritic (immune system signaling cells in the skin) and
endothelial cells (blood vessel walls). Nickel is an inorganic activator of the receptors
in these cells and has been shown to bridge connection between receptors. That, when
activated, release intracellular signals prompting the production of inflammatory
cytokines (signaling molecules) activating immune responses (Rothenberg). The
body reacts to the produced chemicals with inflammation, redness, and swelling.
Nickel is most common among the heavy metals for eliciting this reaction, therefore,
alternative hypoallergenic metals exist which retain the properties necessary to
replace nickel. For jewelry, gold has historically been favored for its malleability and
other properties

Rowlandson
Thesis Statement: Mary Rowlandson persuaded the settlers that the Indians were
savages by talking about the brutality they showed during the pillage, the cruelty
towards the settlers when walking to the camp, and the inhumanness of slaughtering
children and babies.
After reading the piece by Mary Rowlandson, one can see why the settlers were
persuaded that the Indians were savage and barbaric. One may think this because of
the many mentionings of how they shot children and neglected people making them
seem like animals. She also speaks about how the Indians destroyed and burned their
village. The Indians killed people inhumanely and took many prisoners which they
later neglected. This was expressed by explaining how a man met his demise, He
begged of them his life, promising them money (as they told me) but they would not
hearken to him but knocked him in the head, and stripped him naked, and split open
his bowels. All of these statements of what happened may now persuade someone to
think that the Indians were savage and brutal. ... Show more content on

Rowlandson writes, Now away we must go with those barbarous creatures, with our
bodies wounded and bleeding and our hearts no less than our bodies. This shows that
the Indians did not care about the physical condition of the settlers. Also, the Indians
treated the settlers poorly by not feeding or treating to their needs. This is shown
through the quote, There remained nothing to me but one poor wounded babe, and it
seemed at present worse than death. This shows that the settler had lost all hope in
surviving and thought it would be better to die than go on living. The cruelty towards
the settlers was only one of many example showing how the Indians were

My mind was moving too fast. It was as if it was waiting patiently for the call to
end to pounce. I was in the living room of my home peering through the window,
mesmerized by the little flourishes dancing from the sky when I got the call. My
thigh jiggled as my phone vibrated on my lap; it was a call from my mother. It was
supposed to be like any other call. I would answer, we would talk, and it would end
with I love you and I would go on with my day. Only this wasn t any other call. On
November 9th, 2013 I heard the greatest news and it was on that same day, I was
confronted by my worst enemy. The phone call ended, and my joy was soon
turned against me. I was too distracted to notice that this joy was merely heartache
in disguise. I would have never in a million years believe that something so cruel
could bring forth someone so beautiful. It has been four years since the attack and
yet, I have not forgotten and I doubt I ever will. My day was absolutely perfect, it
was like no other. In hindsight, I would say perfection is wishful thinking.
Anyways, I remember I was sitting on the couch and steering through the window
where I noticed the ground was hidden by a thin layer of snow and vibrant leaves.
Inside I was protected from the wintry grip of the fall breeze and I could not have
gotten any happier. My phone rang; it was my mom. With a broad smile, I answered
the phone and upon saying hello she asked me to go somewhere private. Hurriedly I

place where people are looked after. The first meaning of the word home would not

The Value of Taking Risks and Making Mistakes
A life spent in making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a
life spent in doing nothing, wrote George Bernard Shaw. This is true, one can not
truly live life to the fullest and experience all of the things that make life beautiful if
they are not willing to put themselves out there and risk being cut open.
Mistakes are simply learning tools, a means of giving us higher aspirations. They are
underappreciated and should be embraced rather than shunned. Without mistakes, life
would be boring, then where would we be?
As small children we are naturally very accident prone creatures. Everything is new

harmful. Our minds are designed to want what we shouldn t and to not do as we are

In the United States, the recent argument of paid parental leave has started a slight
controversy among business owners and employees; many people would agree that
employees deserve such leave during the early stages of parenthood. However, may
business owners feel that by providing paid parental leave the business overall may
suffer financially. The United States is the only industrialized nation that does not
guarantee paid parental leave. While most female citizens are guaranteed unpaid
maternal leavefor 12 weeks, the lack of paid maternal leave has a negative impact on
new working mothers. The United States needs to implement a policy that
mandates paid maternal leave in the United States. According to the United Nations

goals include gender equality, no poverty, good health and well being, and reduced

critical role in implementing the commitments of SDGs. Research has shown that
paid maternal leave has been shown to improve both maternal and child health.

19. Determining Primortem Trauma in Forsic Pathology and...
There are many factors involved in the determination of perimortem trauma time in
both forensic pathology and forensic anthropology. This is critical information when
it comes to legal issues or the interpretation of prehistoric bone fractures. There is an
extensive difference in fracture properties that depend both on the time that has
passed since death, and the type of environment where the specimen has been
exposed after death. A study was performed by Luis Coelho and Hugo F.V. Cardoso,
the purpose of this study was to determine the effects of different environments and
the time of exposure in the environment on bone fracturepatterns. They are taking a
Forensic anthropological approach in which bonetissue quality (whether the bone is
dry(postmortem) or fresh (perimortem)), is used, instead of using time intervals
relative to the tume of death. The Fractured Freshness Index, which combines fracture
angle, fracture surface, and fracture outline as criteria to determine the time of
bone fracture, was used along with postmortem interval. Fresh limbs from pig and
goat were exposed to three different environments. Seven sets of ten segments of
the limbs were either buried, submerged, or left on ground surface. Five segments
were pig and five were goat. Each sets were buried within twenty eight days of the
previous. The postmortem intervals were 28, 56, 84, 112, 140, 168, and 196 days.
The first set was buried for 196 days and the last set was buried for 28

The first amendment of the United States states Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or
abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people
peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances
(Bill of Rights Institute). In simpler words this amendments means that any citizen
may practice any religion that he or she identifies as their faith. It also grants all
citizens the right to free speech. Free speech means that an individual can say
whatever they wish, without any restrictions, even if the words are inappropriate,
disrespect any political leader or disrespect the government itself. We have a right to
say what we desire. The first amendment along with granting the freedom of speech
and the freedom of religion, allows freedom of press. This allows the press the ability
to publish what they desire, even if it is absurd or incorrect. The second amendment
of the United States Constitution states A well regulated militia, being necessary to
the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be
infringed (Bill of Rights Institute). The second amendment grants

The South American country of Peru has many features unique to Latin American
society. With a population of 30.38 million, Peru is a thriving society with rich
culture and diversity. Composed of Amerindian, mestizo, white, and other ethnicities,
Peru has a variety of religions, beliefs, and practices. The Amerindian ethnic group
composes 45% of the total population in Peruwhile the mestizos make up 35%. White
and other ethnic groups follow with 16%. The primary languages are Spanish,
Quechua and Aymara. Due to the ethnic diversity and heavy recognition of religious
freedom within the government, there are many religions with Peru. The primary

National identity is maintained by means of language, religion, and music. Festivals
like the Fiesta de la Cruz and Inti Raymi exemplify the integral practices and aspects
that unites Peru with its fellow Latin American countries while still maintaining
independent themes. The Fiesta de la Cruz is celebrated on the 3rd of May every
year and is a celebration of the cross in which Jesus died. Inti Raymi is an Incan
religious ceremony that honors the god of the sun, Inti. Peru has blended a series of
Spanish, Andean, and African elements into their music style. Music of the Andesis
mainly preserved historical music that has been passed down from generation to
generation. Few original compositions have been written down and have often
been blended with other melodies or altered in some way. Much of the music in
Peru is associated with various festivals and dances that have cultural or historical
significance. The Chujchu is a satirical dance that depicts several slaves
overworking themselves and subsequently dying from malaria and labor; towards
the end of the dance, death himself comes to retrieve the poor soul. Another
prominent dance in Peruvian culture is the Qhapaq Ch unchu. This dance focuses on
the Virgin Mary as she is paraded around town and is protected by the most
chivalrous warriors who have dedicated their lives to serving this iconic religious
figure. Peru is not limited to just

Calculus
Calculus is a means for calculating the way quantities vary with each other, rather
than just the quantities themselves. Mathematicians everywhere contributed to the
development of Calculus. However, we usually give credit to Isaac Newton and
Gottfried William Leibniz. Today, the credit is given to both men, however, in the
1600s a controversy occurred over which of them deserved credit. Isaac Newtonis a
very well known scientists and is recognized as one of the most accomplished
mathematicians. He was born in 1643, and began the discovery of Calculus in 1666.
However, he did not publish his work until thirty two years later in 1704. Newton
claims that he began working on the discovery of calculus in 1666, but he did not
publish it. Gottfried

our current justice system. To understand, the racial disparities within our justice

26. Contrasting Themes In David Lynch s Film Blue Velvet
Contrasting Themes in Blue Velvet
The subconscious psyche is one of the most fascinating and almost completely
inexplicable aspects of human behavior. Even more intriguing than merely the
subconscious is the notion of a darker, more repressed side that many individuals
refuse to acknowledge exists within them. In David Lynch s film Blue Velvet, the
director attempts to explore the psyche of a young man named Jeffrey Beaumont,
most notably the clash between his darker side and good side for the first time in
his life. Using themes that sharply contrast one another, Lynch provides insight into
the character of Jeffrey and the struggle that he is faced with. Jeffrey is in a
transitional period of his life, not very old, and is on a ... Show more content on

The gun on the television is in direct contrast to what has been taking place visually
up to this point. The mise en scene has been depicting an idealized American town,
and yet the image of a gun is used as an allusion to something more sinister lurking
within the town, with the interior of Jeffrey s house perhaps representing the inner
sanctum of Jeffrey s subconscious. From here, Lynch cuts back to the long shot of
Jeffrey s father watering the lawn, followed by a close up of the faucet where the
hose is connected. Suddenly, the cuts are very rapid and the camera cuts between
close ups of the hose, the faucet, and Jeffrey s father, who eventually keels over in
an apparent stroke. This is followed by a long shot of a dog attempting to bite the
water spraying out of the hose, with a cut to a close up of the dog doing this
behavior in slow motion. Slowly, the non digetic sound of Blue Velvet fades out,
giving way to an unintelligible and faint sound which appears to be non digetic as
well. However, the camera zooms into an extreme close up of the grass and tracks
through the grass as well, with the unintelligible noise increasing in volume. The shot
then dissolves to reveal an entire population of cockroaches infesting the soil, and
what had previously been non digetic sound has now become the loud, digetic sound
of the insects movement. Immediately, there is a cut to an establishing

28. Delegation in Business Organizations
Delegation is the assignment of authority and responsibility to another person;
normally from a manager to a subordinate to carry out specific activities. It is one of
the core concepts of management leadership. The delegated person remains
accountable for the outcome of the delegated work.
But how important is delegation and what role it plays in the success of business
organization ?
Delegation empowers a subordinate to make decisions; it is a shift of decision
making authority from one organizational level to a lower one.
Delegation is very important in business success; if properly done can save money
and time, help in building skills, and motivate people while poor delegation, on the
other hand, might cause frustration and confusion to all the involved parties. Being
the delegated self motivated, it pushes him from inside to give more to the company
and accept more tasks to improve his ability to be an ideal employee and builds a
strong community in company in general and between the manager and his delegate
specially. It is a way of strengthen the loyalty of the delegate.
Delegating frees up managers to tackle the truly important aspects of business
project. It saves time as it allows concentrating on the on the big picture of the project
instead of wasting time on small details. Training someone will involve more time in
the short term which saves in future working hours for a manager. It s an investment
in the future that will pay compound interest.

Prior to the demise of the predecessor of Roger Cahill, the cell phone division

Timeliness is important in all aspects of life. In the army they say 10 minutes prior

By not being able to do something as simple as 10 minutes prior, the soldier can
potentially affect the work of an entire office full of people.
Most important information pertaining to the unit is put out at morning formations,

adverse action against a soldier for that event, it could also cause the soldier to miss
pertinent information about upcoming events; potentially causing more corrective

Inability to be on time for training events hit times, etc; shows that a soldier could

35. The Star Of Star Stars
Our universe is made of millions of objects, many of them, we wonder how they
became part of this planet we live on. The star is one of these objects, sometimes we
wonder how they maintain their brightness and attractiveness. The main sequence
stars, red dwarf stars and white dwarf stars are some of these objects. The stages of
each starare very different and have different variations of life. The life of each star
varies being that the longest a star can survive is up to trillions of years. There are
trillions of stars that sparkle in the sky and each star are very different from each
other and are very unique. Main sequence stars, Red dwarf stars and the white dwarf
stars are all very unique in every way.
A large portion of the stars in the universe, around about 90 percent of them, are
principle main sequence stars. The sun is one of the main sequence stars and the
largest. These stars can go from about a tenth of the mass of the sun to up to 200
times larger. Stars are the magnificent bodies like the sun that are extremely hot and
have light they could call their own. Each star is a tremendous mass of hot gasses
and enormous flares that are leaving it. Stars are comprised of endless billows of
hydrogen gas, some helium and dust. In all the stars (counting the sun), hydrogen
particles are consistently being changed over into helium molecules and a lot of
atomic vitality as warmth and light is discharged amid this methodology. It is this

A common theme among many scholars is modern poetry lacks poetic merit. The
modern version of poetry is more often than not, found as music and more
specifically as lyrics opposed to stanzas. Traditional poetry is known for its poetic
merit; however, modern poetry, music, also has elements that can be found in
traditional poetry. Poetic merit usually refers to the use of numerous poetic elements:
figurative language, imagery, symbolism, allusions, etc. Though scholars may regard
music as lacking in poetic merit, the song Glory by John Legend and Common proves
otherwise through its use of symbolism, alliteration, and allusions to put forth its
emotional lyrics that depict the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement.

Cause and Effect of Deforestation Deforestation is a problem that does not concern
many people, but it is an issue that the people of Earth need to deal with. In the past
50 years deforestation has increased a significant amount, but people around the
world have been removing the forests since the 1600s. The forests remaining are in
danger as the human population goes up, the need for resources will also increase
and this will make the deforestation of the last forests come quicker before humans
realize it is too late. Unless the people address this threat to the world, it will be too
late because this is something that can be fixed, the forests can be rebuilt but it has
to start right now before there is nothing people can do. There are many causes for
deforestation such as, clearing space for urbanization, making areas available for
houses, or harvesting the lumber for goods and other consumer items and all of
these have an effect on the world. The consequences of deforestation can affect all
aspects of life on Earth, including the water cycle, the soil, and the life quality of
species around the world. Deforestation around the world has not only affected the
forests in which species live in but now is being recognized as one of the main
causes of climate change. Since the destruction of the rainforests has sped up in
recent years, a cooling band around the equator forms and those emissions can

Foucault s Theory The Burning Bed Foucault s Theory of Individual Power and
Knowledge have allowed one to see the other side of arguments with more posing
questions. Domestic Violence is now resulting in a spouse being labeled with the

questions, and is debatable at best. In the case of Francine Hughes Wilson, The
Burning Bed shed new light on the ever growing problems within a domestic
abusive relationship and gave way to social change, knowledge and empowerment
within such situations. One must question if Battered Women s Syndrome is a
mental illness or an excuse for murder without consequences due to a momentary
lapse of judgment. Based on actual case law and a movie entitled The Burning Bed
that starred Farrah Fawcett as real life Francine Hayes, a battered woman on trial for
murder suffering with battered woman s syndrome , The Burning Bed shocked the
world with its premiere in 1984 which critically exposed many flaws in the legal and

41. A Personal Statement On Business Management
Business owners run this world, besides older people. Entrepreneur have
responsibilities like no other job in the american nation. They employ everybody no
matter the field. Owning a vision is the motivation that runs an organization to its
highest point in power, or to the dirty ground (5). If you have the power to vision,
use the same power to create that vision. Providing the proper resources and build a
culture is another primary responsibility of an entrepreneurand is key (5). Choosing
the right people to run a business to create a culture will bring moral and heights to
your company. Good decisions deliver the company s performance (5). Life is full
of decisions, and so being an entrepreneur is full of decision, good or bad, a choice
needs to be made. While people work, entrepreneurs employ, which takes great
responsibilities.
Creating my own business has always been my dream since a little kid. My sister
owned a youth center business which added motivation to run my own concession
store. If it can be tried, a business can be completed. My family always say work,
get taxes, and retire. That is a good choice, but I want more that a regular life. Like
all motivational speakers say in general, if you have a dream live it I want to
secure a great future for myself and families, also my community. My family is
either working low pay, relying on the government, or retired, but we all making
good money. My dream is to become an entrepreneur for greater
42. Realism s Effect on Chekhov and Stanislavsky, and their...
Realism played a huge role in the lives of Anton Chekhov and Konstantin
Stanislavsky. Both men made a huge impact on the world of theatre, and results
are still seen today. Elements from Chekhov s plays have influenced playwrights
that came after him, like the works of Tennessee Williams, who listed that Chekhov
had a huge impact on his writing. Stanislavsky s acting system, based on acting
truthfully, inspired many other acting systems that are still used today. Realism
was a huge movement in late 1800s to early 1900s. All art forms were influenced
by it. Writers, artists, actors and more started taking a more simple direction and
tried to depict life as it actually was. In visual art it was common to see ordinary
people doing every day... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vladimir Nemirovich Danchenko and Konstantin Stanislavsky founded the
Moscow Art Theatre on June 22, 1897, during an 18 hour luncheon at the
Slavyanski Bazar (The Stanislavsky Century). The two had set out to reform
Russian theatre and had the common goal in mind to create great art. Before they
set their rules and regulations into place, none officially existed. Actors would
show up either drunk or late and not have their lines learned. Stanislavsky and
Nemirovich wanted a place where there would be discipline and respect and great
art, thus the Moscow Art Theatre was born (The Stanislavsky Century). Konstantin
Stanislavsky, himself, also practiced ideas of naturalism. He was a theatre
practitioner and his roles served as actor and director, and he created the first acting
method. He functioned as the artistic director of the Moscow Art Theatre. In A
Sourcebook for Naturalist Theatre, there was a comparative statement to Chekhov
and Stanislavsky which read: In addition to the concept of acting truly , the practical
correlative to Chekhov s aim of depicting life as it really is , this extract outlines one
of the most important keys to Stanislavsky s system: establishing objectives, which in
terms of acting is the equivalent to the naturalists focus on motivation (Innes 54).
Stanislavsky wrote three novels that discuss his acting method; An Actor Prepares,
Building a Character, and Creating a Role. These books are from the perspective of a
43. NSA Surveillance Paper
The National Security Agency operates the most secretive surveillance in history;
however, disclosures have demonstrated the agency to be a rogue state that is out of
control. Intelligence leaders have openly lied to elected officials and the public about
the nature and extent of the agency s data collection. Policymakers and intelligence
officials have supplied intensive surveillancethat secretly monitors everything it can
get its claws onto. The illegal surveillance of Americans was first discovered by the
public in 2005. Since then, and before, many organizations were founded to defend
civil liberties in our digital war such as the EFF. Secret government documents,
published by the media in 2013, confirm the NSA obtains full copies of everything
that is carried along major domestic fiber optic cable networks. The reports showed
and the government later admitted that the government is mass collecting phone
metadata of all US customers under the guise of the Patriot Act. Moreover, the media
reports confirm that the government is collecting and analyzing the content of
communications of foreigners talking to persons inside the United States, as well as
collecting much more, without a probable cause warrant. (EFF) NSA surveillance
tracks the location of hundreds of millions of people, collects phone records of our
entire nation, and taps into the very backbone of the internet. The US government,

The internet represents a medium for both liberty and control. However, it can be
used a a tool of control and dominance, increasing governmental power, enhancing
government ability to monitor its citizens and potentially control individuals. the
NSA uses supercomputers to hack even encrypted systems. This opens a wider door
for hackers; it leaves us more vulnerable to being hacked by others, and not just the
44. The Survivor Of A Survivor
A plane crash, a shark attack, a shipwreck, or even cancer, are all types of life
threatening events. Majority of the population would agree that people who can
overcome experiencing one of these or a similar event is classified as a survivor.
In this case, a survivor would mean somebody who has experienced a near death
situation and overcame it. However, not everyone has faced one of these and yet is
still a survivor. A survivor is simply anyone who successfully copes with a hardship
better than the majority of the population would. At age nine, most kids are worried
about what their friends are doing after school, the next meal they are having, or
when a new video game is coming out. Jacob Mallard on the other hand, was more...

He began to provide for his family by making dinner, babysitting, helping his siblings
with with homework, teaching morals, and much more. Austin, his younger brother,
who is now a freshman in high school, told me, Jacob is always there for me whether
it s academic help, a girl problem, or athletic improvement. I look up to him and am
so glad to have him. Since he had to be the caretaker for the family he matured
much faster than the average child is expected to and is very responsible and
dependable despite his age and lack of parental guidance he has had growing up.
Although we are very similar in personality he far surpasses me in leadership. As a
junior, he was elected captain of his high school football team who ended up winning
state. This meant that even older and better players respected his leadership and
depended on him to do what was right for the team and lead them on and off the
field. One weekend, I went to watch him play against their cross town rivalry.
There was only 30 seconds left and they were losing by 5. He pulled his team into a
huddle and you could tell that they trusted him to choose a play and had full
confidence in him. Before they broke the huddle and lined up 20 yards from the
end zone, he took number 89 to the side, grabbed him by the shoulder, and spoke to
him. A few seconds later the ball flew into 89 s hands as he caught
45. How Does Kubbrick Use Of Language
I am going to write about the way that Kubrick achieves the same effect with the
language in the film, A Clockwork Orange, without using the language that Anthony
Burgess uses in the and also how he gets the same effect without using language as
Anthony Burgess does to get the reaction out of the readers.
Kubrick uses the protagonist of both the film, Alex, and his gang to show the violence
that we can see in the novel through the use of language. In the beginning of the
movie Alex and his gang run violently through the streets of their city and commit all
kind of violent things that includes them raping a woman. This act shows us that they
are violent and not to be trusted. Where in the novel, Anthony Burgess, uses Nadsat to
make the book
46. The Garden Lodge by Willa Cather
Cather s The Garden Lodge is about a woman named Caroline Noble whose
husband, Howard, asked her if she would like to demolish their old garden lodge
and replace it with a summer house. The conflict in the story is Caroline is not sure
if she wants to knock down the old garden lodge because it brings back memories of
when opera singer Raymond d Esquerre, spent a month at their place. The resolution
is that Caroline decides to go on with building the summer house and demolishing the
garden lodge. The author uses flashback to explain how Caroline grew up and also
when she reminiscences about her time with Raymond. The characters in The Garden
Noble are both flat and round characters, who help characterize Caroline throughout
the story,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cather made the social environment more important than anything else that
involves the setting. The author uses the highly used point of view third person
limited omniscient, getting into the main characters, Caroline s, thoughts and
touching on her feelings: She had an angry feeling that she had done it rather in
self defiance... (3). This point of view helps to get an idea of what Caroline thinks
about everything around her especially the lodge. Cather puts one important
symbol in the story that explains everything. The garden lodge is a literary symbol
that stands for Caroline s past and what she has gained from ridding of that point
of time. D Esquerre coming to live with them in the lodge and bringing back her
enjoyment of music made her feel like she was like her father, holding on to
something that will not move her further in life. She would go into the lodge ...for
a quiet time every day during the two weeks since d Esquerre had left them (3) and
felt ashamed of doing so. She felt, finally, in the end that it was best to get rid of
the lodge. It was like a piece of her past that was yet to be removed and that, in her
mind, her love of music would lead her back to poverty. She did not want to think
about that, so she removed they one thing that kept her with that mind set. The
theme of the story is poverty clouds a person mind of the appreciation of something
special. Cather s style persist of a good use of
