Hinduism In Life Of Pi
Life of... Hindu In the novel Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Pi uses his religion to push him through the
struggles on the lifeboat; He often refers to Hindu and many of the events and characters represent
the symbolism of the Hindu religion. As Pi goes through life he begins to practice and experiment in
different religions. He begins with Hindu as his aunt is the one who introduces him, this becomes a
focal point for his journey. Now imagine being trapped on a lifeboat and your religion being the
only thing helping you through, and the symbolism of one of your religions leaving you in constant
wonder. Brahma, the Hindu word for God or creator(Hinduism). This word represents one of the
biggest things in Pi's journey through not only the sea

Abstract
The present study was taken up to identify trace metals as well as to assess the extent of
anthropogenic inputs into the Shimoga area. The Kallur mandli and Sagar road industial estate of
shimoga in and around collected sediment samples from ponds, channel and, river for present study.
The samples were analyzed heavy metals Viz., Cd, Pb, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe. The obtained results
are compared with non–polluted sediments of near gadikoppa pond sample, which is away from the
industrial activity for used as back ground values. The study area samples exhibits higher
concentration of Cd, Pb, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe than the unpolluted values. Thus, industrial activity
has allowed the accumulation of certain heavy metals by transportation and deposition into
surrounding area of pond, channel and river sediment matrix. The contamination of the sediments
with metals at few locations is attributed to industries and other anthropogenic causes.
Key words: Shimoga, Trace elements, pond, channel, river

Compare And Contrast Zoroastrianism And Judaism
One key element Zoroastrianism and Judaism share is a monotheistic view on God. Both share in
the belief that there was creator for everything, and this creator has numerous names in both
religions. While they may share this view, Zoroastrianism also believes in a dualistic view for good
and evil (pg. 229). Zoroaster taught that two spirits stemmed from the creator Ahura Mazda.
Whether one chose to follow Spenta Mainyu – the Beneficent Spirit, or Angra Mainyu – the Evil
Spirit, determined their fate regarding heaven and hell. The afterlife is another key element they
share. While Judaism does not believe in a heaven or a hell, they do believe in Sheol which is the
place of the dead. Sheol is a place of darkness where both the righteous and

The Private Market And Venture Capitalist
Mr. Whitney presented enlightening information regarding entrepreneurship, why it is important and
how the private market or venture capitalist are so important in investing in entrepreneurs. Venture
capital is changing the global economy as banks are not investing in businesses anymore other than
lending funds. Wealth creation has changed due to the internet and today wealth creation is out
pacing the wealth created by inheritance (M. Whitney, personal communication, May 21, 2016). An
axiom from Mr. Whitney's company is networks create and disrupt net worth. As explained,
networks bind things together, but they take away somewhere else. This can be illustrated in the
railroad industry. The railroad created a network, which tied the east and west coast together,
facilitating travel and movement of goods from coast to coast. However, the railroad industry
disrupted net worth of the horse and buggy industry, as this mode of transportation was replaced. It
is typical for organizations to follow a common business model within an industry but, if you
assume that there is only one business model, then your organization gets disrupted and you are
blindsided. Another idea presented was retail is a good indicator of market shifts, with three big
trends portrayed in retail that is extended to every industry as a predictive indicator. One of these
trends is consolidation, which we see companies buying up companies, therefore the customer base
is getting smaller. This

"If I were asked to define the Hindu creed, I should simply say: Search after truth through non–
violent means. A man may not believe in God and still call himself a Hindu. Hinduism is a relentless
pursuit after truth... Hinduism is the religion of truth. Truth is God."
–– Mahatma Gandhi
"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by
it I see everything else."
–– C. S. Lewis
Hinduism and Christianity are two religions that have been around for thousands of years. These
religions have developed philosophies on certain subjects that can be compared in order to show

The god Vishnu is the creator, and Shiva is the destroyer. One is not looked upon as better than the
other. This shows the ultimate realism that the Hindu culture possesses. These are not the only gods
in Hindu culture. There are many others and all have special skills and talents. The gods themselves
also give birth to the idea of avatars, or the form of god when he or she comes to earth.
Perhaps the most important part of the philosophy of a religion lay in its path to enlightenment. The
main ideas of enlightenment come through the Four Ends of Life. The first of these ends is Moksa.
Moksa could be considered the realization of separation between the spiritual self and the physical
self. It is only through this realization that one can be released from the mortal coil and allowed to
spiritual liberty. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan says it is "To inquire into his true self, to live in and from
it, to determine by its own energy what it shall be inwardly and what it shall make of the outward
circumstances, to (find) the whole life on the power and truth of the spirit..." It is through Moska
that the Hindu follower becomes familiar with the existence of the spiritual world. The second of the
Four Ends of life is Kama. This end says that we must pass through life in an ethical manner that
brings about the most from life. This includes learning its great values as well as experiencing its
enjoyments. This protects the Hindu follower from

It is identified that internal rate of return is relatively a rate at which the value of net present value
tends to be zero. The internal rate of return is an appraisal that is mainly associated with a hurdle
cost of either capital or discount rate against which it is compared. The hurdle cost mainly
corresponds to the advantage cost of capital. In reference to public projects, the hurdle rate
represents to be TDR. The major advantage behind making use of this financial appraisal system is
the aspect that internal rate of return is mainly dependent on the percentage of rate of return as well
as cash flow in order to effectively access a specific investment with the identification of the time
value of money over the life of proposed project and it significantly analysis the risks as well as
constraints that are associated with the implication of the project (Götze, Northcott, & Schuster,

make use of internal rate of return in determining whether or not to implement the project, even it is
a fact that for IRR estimation which is observed as merit. Along with benefits there are number of
disadvantages as well that are linked with IRR appraisal technique. It is not highly suitable for the
purpose of ranking of different competitive projects. It is relatively possible that internal rate of

Ancient Greek Dramas : Oedipus Rex, Antigone, And Medea
The three Ancient Greek dramas, Oedipus Rex, Antigone, (both written by the playwright
Sophocles), and Medea (written by the playwright Euripides) can all be connected by relating them
to the three motifs– suffering, revenge and determination. Although the characters go through
various forms of suffering throughout the play, they all undergo pain, distress, and hardship:
physically, mentally, and emotionally. These feelings could result in a thirst for sweet revenge. They
want to take vengeance upon who ever inflicted the pain and heartache upon them. Thus, this strong
craving for revenge results in the unwavering determination needed to accomplish their main
objective: these three themes are all connected within each of the three dramas: Oedipus Rex,
Antigone, and Medea.
Throughout each of the tragic dramas, the characters suffer in some way. Although the characters at
some point in their lives were happy, they all endure suffering: "...life is filled with suffering, and
that this suffering that we experience is directly caused by our will" (Williams 1). In the play,
Oedipus Rex, Oedipus has a pleasant wish, until he causes his own suffering. Before his downfall,
he defeated the sphinx by solving her riddle and became the King of Thebes. He was living a happy,
full life until he brought suffering and ruin upon himself. Once Oedipus learns the truth about whom
his paternal parents are his whole world comes crashing down. He was the cause of the pollution in

7-E Japan Business Strategy is the Definition of Success
Business Strategy definition as success factor:
7–E Japan (7EJ) designed a business strategy focused on Japanese customer's behaviors for
household goods requirements. The responsiveness level, transparency and agility of 7EJ SC was
based on a business model strategy which designed storages location, inventory levels and
transportation strategy supported by technology (Chopra & Meindl, 2007).
Companies should design business strategy for success on SC implementation (Chopra & Meindl,
2007; Sethi, Yan & Zhan, 2005). Proper capabilities evaluation with regular audit process reduces
risk and prevent problems on day–to day operations (Willianson et all, 2011) increasing agility in
the SC (Chopra & Meindl, 2007).
Facilities and demand:
Storage and transport products are a costly activity (Slack & Lewis, 2011). 7EJ SC challenge was to
design a transport strategy that allows daily products transportation at minimum cost from storages
centers to franchise stores. The integrated IT solutions gave the data needed for forecasting demand.
To fulfill 7EJ SC strategy each store center was geographically located based on customers demand
data (Sethi, Yan & Zhan, 2005). This strategy may generate over or sub capacity problems when
products demand follows unpredictable or changing patters (Chopra & Meindl, 2007). But proper
data sharing with customers and suppliers increases proactive planning activities and generates
positive outcomes following coordination theories for solving

The Beginning Of Buddhism And India
The beginning of Buddhism started in 5th century B.C. in India (Violatti). Siddhartha, also referred
to as Buddha, was said to have seen the suffering of the world and set out a way to fix it. He was
said to have reached a state of enlightenment that was said to have begun at the end of attachments.
These attachments were said to have been able to be achieved through a large amount of meditation
and analysis of the world (Violatti, Buddhism). Buddhism does not have a direct set of books to
follow but there are two books Sutras (Sanskirt) and Suttas (Pali) that are said to have been the
words of Buddha and many Buddhist live by those words ("Buddhist Sacred Texts"). Hinduism had

What people are brought back as is said to be determined by what they had done in their previous
life, Buddhist are more likely to call it rebirth. Hinduism says "Just as a man discards worn out
clothes and puts on new clothes, the soul discards worn out bodies and wears new ones" (2.22) (V.
Jayaman) This is talking about reincarnation because it is believed that a person's soul take over a
new body whether it is of an animal or if it comes back as a person. The Buddhist thinking on
reincarnation is "The constant state of flux, renewal and metabolic change that we experience
physically (birth, old age, sickness, and death) and in our minds (the forming, existing, changing and
ceasing of thoughts) are what we call the wheel of rebirth" Master Hsing Yun (Peto). Yun was
talking about how what people do during their life and the changes they go through effects how they
are going to be reborn. When comparing Hinduism and Buddhism on reincarnation they are very
similar, even though it is more commonly called rebirth by Buddhism. Both of them believe that
what they do in their life affects what they come back as in their next life.
Enlightenment can occur during meditation and is a realization in a person that allows them to make
a change and see the world in a different light and many believe it is a liberation of a person's soul.
It may make people to go on a mission or go live in exclusivity so

The Six Sigma And Tools
2.3. Six sigma and tools
The Six Sigma improvement method is problem–focused and its main objectives are decreasing
scrap, earning income and creating value (Saghaei et al, 2012). Motorola developed this concept in
1986. There were three meanings of six sigma provided by Brue (2006). It is the level of quality that
a process assures, it is a problem solving methodology and lastly it is a management philosophy.
Alternatively it is also said to be a project driven approach to process and product quality
improvement (Ray and Das, 2010). This approach ensures the process to be 99.9996% defect free.
The performance level of a project can be obtained by subtracting the average of readings of errors

There are mostly two types of variation in a process. A common cause variation is an uncontrollable
variation that is bound to occur. Whereas special cause variation has a specific reason and occurs
less frequently. These variations are caused due to 5Ms; Man, Material, Machine, Method or
Measurement. These are unacceptable variations and can be developed or changed. There are six
steps and two methodologies to implement a Six Sigma project in an organization. These are
inspired by Deming's Plan–Do–Check–Act cycle. The two methodologies are DMAIC and
DMADV. DMAIC is used for projects aimed at refining an existing business process. DMADV is
used for projects aimed at creating a completely new product or process designs.
The DMAIC project methodology has five phases. 'Define phase has three approaches of defining a

the project goals and cost of poor quality are the approaches. Measure key aspects of the current
process and collect relevant data; calculate the 'as–is' Process Capability. Analyze the data to
investigate and verify cause–and–effect relationships. Determine what the relationships are, and
attempt to ensure that all factors have been considered. Seek out root cause of the defect under
investigation. Improve or optimize the current process based upon the analyze phase using
techniques such as design of experiments, Poka

Similarities Between Hinduism And Hinduism
Similarities and Differences Between Buddhism and Hinduism
When comparing two different religions, it is easy to find many similarities and differences.
Buddhism and Hinduism are two religions that are very well–known throughout the world
(awritersesteem). Some people even believe that since they have multiple similarities and that they
were both founded from the same region, that they are just sects of the same religion, but they are
different religions in many ways (awritersesteem).
Hinduism is third on the list, behind the Christianity and Islamic religions, of the most studied and
practiced beliefs in the world (History.com Staff). Hinduism has been around for many years which
has allowed for a numerous number of sects to form throughout the religion. This causes a range of
beliefs throughout the religion, just like any other religion. Some well–known sects are Shaiva,
which are followers of Shiva; Vaishnava, followers of Vishnu; Shakta, followers of Devi; Smarta,
followers of Brahman (History.com Staff). Hindus do not just study one book or text, like most
religions, but they do have the main text which is called Vedas. "The Vedas are made up of The Rig
Veda, The Samaveda, Yajurveda, Atharvaveda" (History.com Staff). Some of the other important
texts Hindus study from are called Upanishads, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita, and 18
Puranas (History.com Staff). There are different hymns, stories, and rituals throughout these texts.

Project Management is the art of arranging, sorting out, spurring, and controlling resources to attain
specific objectives. A project is a brief endeavor intended to deliver a unique product, service,
attempted to meet extraordinary objectives and goals, commonly to achieve helpful change or
included quality.
To summarize, there should be a framework or model which we can use to achieve both strategy
formulation and execution excellence. The sequence of steps will help us implement a successful
project management.
Step 1: Identify the unit for which a Project strategy is being developed. Understand the business
statergy and the priorities and objectives.
Step 2: Define the Project planning and Project implementation
Step 3: Identify the key sources of competitive advantage (Business Strategy)

Life After Death In Jewish Religion
Death is something that everyone talks about daily, but the most important thing that people do talk
about when someone is deceased is whether he or she wanted a religious burial. While many
similarities exist between different religions, the beliefs and rituals surrounding death in the Hindu
and Jewish religions vary greatly. The Jewish community and the Hindu community play important
roles in the death of their deceased loved ones. Upon the death of a loved one, Hindu people believe
that the ashes or remains must be scattered, preferably on water, while the Jewish faith strictly
believes that all deceased people must have a tombstone to mark their permanent resting place.

two purposes: "to ensure a soul's happy migration and habitation in the other world and also saves
its family members from the after effects of pollution" (Jayaram). When children die below a certain

Comparing Yann Martel's An Island, A Religion, And A Pi
An Island, A Religion, and A Pi Hinduism is very prominent in the novel by Yann Martel, as well as
many connections between the book and the popular religion. He was thrown into Hinduism when he
was a child, but was torn between his mother's religious beliefs and father's more rational belief. I
came across a quote while reading about the meerkat island and it said, "To live forever or to lead a
stable life, one has to cross the ocean and reach the other shore"(V,J) . This quote is saying that life
may not be easy at the moment, but if we tough through it and do not give up then we will make it to
happier times and a better life which is what I believe was a strong lesson in the novel.
As Pi grows up he is surrounded by Hindu culture and beliefs from his mother, as it is the "most
common religion in the Indian subcontinent"(Carnagie,et al 239). "Hinduism is a South Asian
religion based on traditions that emerged around 1500 BCE"(Carnagie,et al 239). Hinduism's
followers are called Hindus. "In India, Hinduism is called Sanatana Dharma, which means "eternal
religion" or Vaidika Dharma, which means "religion of the Vedas," a set of Hindu scriptures or holy
writings"(Carnagie,et al 239). Hinduism "is the world's third largest religion following, Christianity

Role Of Women In Hinduism
The Role of Women in Hinduism Hinduism is a prevalently male dominated religion in which
women assume an auxiliary part. In India, there are laws that prevent women from having their
independence. During the earliest time, women's legitimate rights to acquire property had been
restricted. The ancient Hindu scripture, "Na stri swatantramarhati–'Swatrantam Na Kachit Striyah,"
describe women to be unfit for any independence and was viewed as less than human. She was only
to be preserved by her male guardians (Halder, Debarati, and K. Jaishankar 664–665). In the

women could have such as clothes and jewelry. A gift from a person and property acquired by self–
exertion is their own property. According to the law, the wife is not the absolute owner because she
and her property belongs to her husband. A man could use it whenever they see fit. When the
property was land, a women was never acknowledge as a full owner. If a female was the only child
they would adopt a male baby to guard the parental property. No matter how educated a lady might
be property could never be left with her. During the medieval period, widowed women started
owning property to protect it from Muslim rulers. The property still was limited. They had to
transfer succession rights to the nearest male family member of their deceased husband and her
jewelry would be forcefully taken. Older widows would be left to plead in a holy place. If she was a
young widow, she would be force or encourage to do a bridal burning ritual or sati. Sati is the
practice of burning the Hindu widows alive with their husbands. This practice became more
common during the Muslim rule in northern India to protect the chastity of Hindu women from
Muslims. They killed the widows so they could not claim their deceased husband property. In
modern India the practice of Sati is considered to be a criminal act and punishable by the Sati

monopoly of petroleum by The Organization Of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC),

OPEC was established in the 1960's and ever since, Saudi Arabia gained a reputation of being the

Price A Monopolist's demand curve

To further strengthen this fact, we can observe the price plunge in the 1990's. OPEC's leader Mr. Ali
Naimi collaborated with another OPEC member's leader, Mr. Hugo Chavez of Venezuela to impose
a clever tactic to cut production. As in figure 2, the price for a barrel of oil rose from $10 in 1998 to
nearly $30 in 1999.(economist.com 2003)
The downward sloping demand curve also tells us how OPEC gains its revenue. OPEC's marginal
revenue, which is the amount of revenue it receives for each additional unit of output or the change
of its total revenue divided by the change of quantity, will always be less than price due to the
downward sloping demand curve. To increase the quantity sold, they must lower the price. In a
recent OPEC meeting, inline with the Iraqi war, OPEC flooded the market with oil which now
threatens a price collapse. .(economist.com 2003) Marginal revenue can be negative when the effect
of a price reduction on quantity causes total revenue to decrease, as illustrated in figure 3. (Gans, J.

Positive Effects of the British Colonization of India Essay
Many positive things happened during, and as a result of, the British colonization of India. When the
East India Company took control of India in 1612, they began modernizing, westernizing, and
industrializing India. This westernization included giving women more rights, an attempt to
eliminate the caste system and the loss of many of the more backward Hindu religious beliefs such
as the domination of women by men and denying an entire class of people any rights. British
occupation also did things long term for India. The modern technology and western customs allowed

the introduction of Enlightenment ideas and a western–style democracies; which has proven to be
one of the most successful models in history. This made them one of the most effective colonies and
post colonial countries. One of the best examples of western political thought surfacing in India was
the formation of the Indian National Congress. The Indian National Congress was made up of

Happiness is a crucial part of human existence. Like food and water, happiness is a requirement for
a healthy lifestyle. Balance in a person's life is something that can be achieved, albeit, coming with
varying degrees of difficulty (depending on the person.) Religion and Science alike have made
attempts to define happiness and its unending mysteries, not many have truly done so. I believe both
make excellent strides in the right direction, but both do not achieve the true definition. Mankind's
ultimate goal is to attain true happiness. This hamster wheel of an endeavor is one of the most
difficult things in life to attain. For a person to feel blissful and 100% content with his or her life is

make synthetic happiness more relatable. One such example would be when a person refers to the

though it's only the second film from Pothan, due to the immense fan following for his previous film
which even generated a trend of finding minute details from that film and labeling it as Pothettan
brilliance, there was much hype to live up to. By making the subject into a dark humor rather than
the previous film which was more of a feel good film, Pothan was able to satisfy and surprise his
fans.
The film begins in a rural village near Alappuzha where chance encounters leads into a love affair
between Prasad and Sreeja. Their inter–caste marriage prompts them to shift to Kasargod. On a bus
journey Sreeja's gold chain is snatched by a man behind her while she fell asleep. As the chain is
being snatched she comes out of the sleep only to find the man swallowing it. With the help of
passengers and employees of the bus the thief is brought to the nearby Sheni police station, the man
denying the theft all the while. The only witness to the theft is Sreeja who was half asleep. So the
police decides to take the man into custody and wait for a day to find if the chain can be found in his
shit.

Hindu Perspective: Hinduism And The Religion Of Hinduism
Hindu Perspective
Hinduism is the religion of Hindus and it is also one of the oldest religion in the world. This religion
is also known as Sanatana–Dharma which means an eternal religion. Not because it is eternal only,
but also because of it is protected by their own God (Jayaram, n.d.). Other than that, Hinduism is
also known by the name of Vaidika–Dharma. Vaidika–Dharma is the religion of the Vedas. The
foundational scriptures of Hinduism are the Vedas. In Hinduism education is an important means to
achieve the four aims of human life. Vidya or also called as education means to perform his
obligatory duties with a sense of detachment and devotion to God an individual must improve the

Tao Te Ching has their own meaning which is Tao or Dao can be translated as a "way" which means
the universe unnamable process, whereas Te or De is a "virtue" or "personal character" that means a
now–archaic sense of inner potency. For Ching or Jing means a "great book" or "classic". Thus, if
we combined all the words it can be translated as "The Book of the Way of Virtue" or "The Classic
of the Way's Virtues". This holy book can be divided into 81 chapters. The chapters also are divided
into two halves. The first halves consists of 37 sections formed the upper section and was called as
the "Classic of the Tao" because the initial word of the text is "Tao". The second halves were called
as the "Classic of Te" due to the second key term of the text is "Te". They believe that Tao Te Ching
is important and essential as guidance for them in living full spiritual and ethical life. Tao Te Ching
has been written in classical Chinese. The concept of Tao Te Ching also focuses on education and
knowledge. For example, in chapter forty–eight which is the pursuit of the Way is not like the
pursuit of information. The meaning of this phrase is learning can be improved if we put more effort

Theory Of The Four Yugas

Theory of the Four Yugas Lasting four million three hundred twenty thousand years, are four ages
known as Yugas. The ancients understood time as a circle, not linear. Each age has distinct themes
and spiritual lessons. According to the Hinduism scriptures, all mortal beings are destined to pass
through four great epochs in every cycle of creation and destruction. The world has already been
through the first three and is currently passing through the fourth Yuga. It is believed that the world
will end in a great conflagration after the last Yuga. To some, this appears too unrealistic to be true

The people had all fallen prey to delusion and all pious acts had been swallowed by greed."
Scientists have predicted that by the end of this Yuga people will hardly be older than twenty years
and their only food will be meat. It's depressing to say that our society's actions are progressively
getting worse as we continue to live during each age. It's freighting to think of what is going to
happen in the future.
According to Hinduism.stackexchange.com, one cycle of all four Yugas is called a Maha Yuga, and
one thousand Maha Yugas make up one Kalpa. A Kalpa constitutes just one day of Brahma, the
creator god. After the day is over, Brahma goes to sleep, and then the night of Brahma commences.
This night is the time period when the physical universe, along heavens and hells are destroyed by
fire emanating from the mouth of Vishnu 's serpent Adiseshan. Adiseshan is said to hold all the
planets of the universe on his hoods and to constantly sing the glories of the God Vishnu from all his
mouths. It is believe that after the disaster that Lord Brahma would recreate the universe and

Tantrism Essay
There are many religions that share various common beliefs and philosophies. On the contrary, there
are other religions that are on the opposite side of the spectrum, all with their own distinct beliefs
aside from the majority. As religion is considered a controversial topic, Tantrism is among one of the
most eccentric religions. It is considered an interesting religion due to the fact that sexual
experiences play large roles in the process of redemption for its followers.
A simple definition for the Tantric religion would be the fundamental belief that "Tantra is a cult of
ecstasy, focused on a vision of cosmic sexuality" (Rawson, 7). Even though the religion is based on
sexuality, Tantrism is a practice involving many different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As the practitioner of Tantra unites with the cosmic energy through their sexuality, they also learn to
direct and control this energy in order to put it to use in other rituals and practices within the
religion. "The energy, once aroused, is harnessed to rituals, meditation and yoga, turned back up
within the human energy–mechanism, and used to propel the consciousness toward blissful
enlightenment" (Rawson, 30). To transcend this world and unite with the cosmos is a step to achieve
enlightenment. Thus, sex is a logical solution in achieving this goal of self–enlightenment.
Since these sexual experiences propose a different goal aside from reproducing, the rituals are also
different. Unlike informal sex or even the close tied bonds of marital sex experienced in everyday
life, Tantric followers take these sexual experiences much more serious. The male penis and female
vagina are worshiped as deities; the god Shiva and goddess Shakti are often associated with these
sexual organs, respectively. Thus, before sexual intercourse, rituals and flowers are often offered to
these sexual organs. Also, many positions are practiced as it "enhances the act of love" (Rawson,
34). Tantric sex is much more involved. "Sex is not regarded as sensation, but as feeling; attraction
is not appetite, but the `meeting of eyes'; love is not a reaction, but a carefully nurtured creation"
(Rawson, 87). Beliefs of Tantra include the celebration of both life and creation

What Is The Similarities Between Hinduism And Buddhism
Studying and learning about Hinduism and Buddhism, I realized how similar they really are, other
than the central differences. Both religions grew in the same path of the same wisdom after they
were born in the womb of the same Mother. They both revolve around the understanding of the
implications of death and the importance of the need to solve that. We can see a good example to
show this in the Buddhist painting of Kalacakra. The god of death is holding the wheel of existence
is the same god of Death revealed in the Upanishads, who is shown before Arjuna in the
Bhagavadgita. The picture of death shows him holding the wheel of life with his fierce eyes and

They share a very unusual, long and uncomfortable relationship. I realized Hinduism and
Buddhism's relationship could easily be compared to that of Judaism and Christianity. Christ was
born in a Jewish family, just as the Buddah was born in a Hindu family. Many still argue that
Buddhism was an outgrowth of Hinduism and that the Buddha was a part of the Hindu pantheon, a
view that is not tolerable to many Buddhists. However, it is also said that Buddhism gained its
acceptance and popularity because it freed the people in India from the oppression of orthodoxy and
tradition (Jayaram). The Buddha's understanding and teaching gave hope to those who had no hope
for the freedom of choice in a dominated society. The society was governed and ruled by the case
system, dominance of ritual form of worship and the high–class position of the privileged classes,
which the Vedic religion considered as firm and unquestionable. The Hindu tradition established the
Buddha as an incarnation of Vishnu long ago. But heavy conflict occurred between both traditions in
the subcontinent for a long period of time.
Even though both the religions have fundamental differences, Hinduism and Buddhism influenced
each other in many ways. The Buddhist belief of non–injury and kindness toward all living beings
started becoming common throughout India, while Mahayana Buddhism took indication from the
traditional Indian approaches of religious worship. Buddhism influenced the growth of Indian art
and architecture. It contributed to the practice of meditation in reaching greater states of

Suffering in Buddhism and Hinduism
The concept that all life is suffering directly to the Hindu and Buddhist teachings have a lot in
common, but they are two different religions that have different belies and teachings for their
religion. They both use the same word "dukkha" in order to describe their way of suffering, but their
meaning of suffering has a small difference.
When it comes to Buddhism you are born into suffering and that your task is to find a solution for
serving. In Buddhism dukkha as it is described by the Four Noble Truth's is that we are always
suffering in this life we live in. We don't always get what we want and in order for us to get what we

Hinduism suffering is just a part of life and so which means that suffering is natural to the Hindu
religion. For example in Hinduism dukkha means that physical, mental and emotional instability and
afflictions arise from the dualities and modifications of the mind and body. Hinduism has its Caste
System where it gives their people orders of how to live their life.
The Caste System has four different types of groups where the groups have different meanings and
people don't get to choose which type of group they want, because they are born into it. This system
had a lot of people suffering, because they didn't have any freedom to do what they want or be what
they wanted. Brahmins belong to the highest caste. They are priests and scholars. Kshatryas are
soldiers and warriors. Vaisyas are merchants and professionals. Sudras are the lowest cast. They are

Hannah Arendt's Four Types Of Evil
After the second world war, Hannah Arendt spent a lot of time studying the 'evil' actions that the
Nazi's had committed during the war, and as a result of her studies, she came to the conclusion that
most evil is done by people who never make up their minds to be good or evil. To fully understand
her statement, we must first look at the four types of evil:
1. Diabolical evil
2. Idealistic evil
3. Instrumental evil
4. And finally, banal or unconscious evil
This first type of evil, Diabolical evil, is considered to be when an evil action is conducted with no
other purpose other than to be evil. However, there is contradiction whether this type of evil actually
exists. If we look at masochism, for example, the purpose behind their evil actions, ... Show more

In my opinion God is not the creator of evil and suffering. This is implied in the bible, in Genesis
1:31, when it says; "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." Therefore, everything that
he had made was good, thus He could not possibly be the author of evil. So where did suffering
come from? God wanted a genuine relationship with us. He wanted us to sincerely love him, like he
already loved us. However, this would not have been possible without the freedom of choice,
otherwise we would just be like robots, programmed to love God, rather than actually experiencing
it (Dickson, 2001). However, when God gave Adam and Eve this freedom, we, as humans, betrayed
him and chose to eat the fruit from the tree that we were forbidden not too. We abused the free will
that he gave us and walked away from Him. This, in my opinion, is the reason that good people
suffer. Because when we walked away from God, we also brought natural and moral evil into the
world. Moral evil is the suffering that occurs as a result of our own uncaring, selfish, and hateful
actions. For example, if we look at famine, the world produces enough food for everyone to have
3,000 calories a day; however, it is a result of our own self–centeredness that thousands of people
around the world starve. It is a result of our own free will. Furthermore, natural evil can also be

Reincarnation
Reincarnation– Buddhism vs. Hinduism How would it feel to know that after you died, you would
be reborn into a new body? That the deciding factor in what you would become was how you lived
your life? Beliefs like these have existed for at least 3,000 years. Originating and commonly
practiced in Western countries, this is called reincarnation. To know that you have lived many lives
before this one and that there are many more to come is a very attractive perspective from which to
judge the meaning of life. It can be a great comfort for those who seek liberation on the exclusive
basis of their inner resources. While the general concept is present in a number of religions, there are
also significant differences between the various belief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Buddha described reincarnation as lighting successive candles using the flame of the preceding
candle. Although each flame is casually connected to the one that came before it, it is not the same
flame. When one personality dies, a new one comes into being. Buddhism teaches that what is
reborn is not the person but that one moment gives rise to another and that this momentum continues
even after death. Instead of a fixed entity, what is reborn is a "stream of consciousness," whose
quality has been conditioned by karma. It is similar to Hinduism in that karma determines the
circumstances of subsequent lives, so there is continuity between personalities but not persistence of
identity. Circumstances of rebirth are not seen as rewards or punishments from a controlling God but
are the natural results of various good deeds and misdeeds. The cycle of rebirths involves suffering
and continues until all cravings are lost and nirvana is achieved. The basic difference between
Hinduism and Buddhism is this. Hindus believe in an external existence of self which can eventually
merge into a greater self, and Buddhists believe that the self is ultimately transitory, and its
elimination is freedom from material existence which is suffering. They are quite different
approaches, yet the practices, such as meditation, chanting, and self–discipline, and effects, such as

Value Of American Culture Essay
American Values
Every country around the globe has its own unique culture, social belief and structure, and values.
American culture is not different in this regard. Two of the most significant values of American
culture are a strong work ethic and the competitive spirit. This paper will examine how these values
define American culture, how these values affected me personally growing up, and how these values
influence my attempts to influence others.
Strong Work Ethic and Competitive Spirit
American culture is known around the world for many things, but two of the most influential values
in my life have been developing a strong work ethic along with the competitive spirit that can be
found in virtually every aspect of American life. Whether it is creating a quality product or just
completing a hard day's work, as Americans we are taught that we have accomplished something to
feel good about if we have given maximum effort. This belief was largely in contrast to previous
cultures who had regarded hard work as a curse (Hill, 1996). In American culture, the desire to
pursue your dreams meant that you also had the ability to attain them if you were willing to make
the necessary sacrifices. That motivation compelled people to work ... Show more content on

but also from foreign competitors. This competition led the charge for American car companies to
reinvent themselves. In order to beat the competition, they had to make if better, faster, and less
expensive (Jayaram, Vickery, Droge, 1999). This competitive spirit is seen across many levels of
American culture from sporting events to space travel, anything less than the best is

The Mental Growth Of A Person
difficult to explain. Quantifying the mental growth of a person, therefore, is a real problem. It is
difficult to say when and at what stage a person becomes mentally mature. By subjecting an
individual to certain tests and testing situations, we may arrive at certain conclusions, but we cannot
be sure how accurate our conclusions are. We have very complex personalities, because of which it
is really difficult to control our behavior all the time. However mature and diligent we are, at times
we are bound to come under the influence of our emotions and act immaturely. There are many
physical, mental and environmental factors, which play upon our emotions and incite our behavior.
This is very human and normal. In a way it is also necessary, because we need to let out our
emotions occasionally and provide a safe outlet for our pent–up frustrations and disappointments in
life. Each of us has a child inside us, formed out of our childhood experiences. It remains active,
even after we become adults. Temperamentally, it is unstable, immature, emotional and also highly
creative. Although it is a relic of our past, it is an essential and important component of our
personalities. Even after we become adults, it continues to play a significant role in shaping our lives
and behavior. Since it is filled with emotions, it requires some caring and nurturing on our part, so
that we will not feel dull and depressed. It also needs to be kept under control so that we will not act

Examples Of Meditation, Prayer And Contemplation
In this section, a detailed analysis and discussion of the findings of my sources will be used as
evidence in order to strengthen the argument of the research hypothesis, which is to what extent
does meditation, prayer and contemplation contribute to an individual's physical and psychological
well–being. It would be far better if one's self could achieve holistic well–being, improved peace of
mind and relaxation as well as better thought processing without the need for any form of medical
intervention. The scientific evidence of the many sources supports the notion that meditation, prayer
and contemplation improves an individual's mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well–being.
The first source to support the research hypothesis is a scientific journal titled: Meditation for

shown to promote healing and holistic well–being in others, and so it can be reasoned that prayer
has great potential to affect the physical and psychological well–being of the prayer–beneficiary, as
well as for the prayer–giver him/herself.

Creating An Action Team Of An Advisor
This proposal discusses the plans to create an action team to build advisor tools and resources;
showcasing how these plans will positively impact brand perception, lead growth, and revenue. By
selecting the best graduate program managers in the field, this team will efficiently determine what
advisors expect from a relationship with Kaplan; through the administration of an advisor survey.
Utilizing the data from this survey, the team will develop advisors personas, create tools and
resources that will assist in building strong relationships, and provide an in–depth advisor
communication plan. The end goal is to build strong relationships with advisors on college
campuses who are considered gatekeepers to the student body. If we build strong relationships with
these advisors, they will help promote our courses and introduce students to Kaplan. As a result, we
will see an increase in lead generation and positive revenue growth. The costs associated with this
action team will be minimal as we will be utilizing our own team for asset creation and developing
digital tools and resources to prevent any printing expense. THE CREATION OF AN ADVISOR

its organization. Managers are in charge of their teams and operates using the hands on approach.
Also at times, the opinions of the employees are sought out, which in turn gives them a sense of

employees to support the business needs and similarly uses it as an opportunity to help with

presented as an internal strength.
Recently, Staples went through several leadership changes. Shortly after the failed merger with

suffering tends to be more serious in nature. Furthermore, long–term suffering usually is more
difficult to deal with. As an personal example, I offer my present job situation. I have been
repeatedly unemployed since moving to the Pittsburgh area eight years ago. I have only been able to
find short–term temporary and contract jobs in my present area of expertise (Finance &
Accounting). I have suffered greatly in the economic sense (eviction and utility shutoffs) and in the
emotional sense (nervousness and the inability of my fiancée and me to plan for our wedding). This
suffering has made me realize that I need to change my profession to one that has more job
opportunities and pays better wages (Computer Science). And it only took me eight years to figure
this out! Maybe the Hindu belief system that tells us that we (the immortal soul) is imprinted with
our past actions. According to Dr. Sarma, a possible reasoning for the suffering of innocents can be
the result of past life experiences. When we are spiritually mature enough to face atonement for our
misdeeds, there are seven stages of this purification process. According to the editorial

Christianity and Hinduism According to the human truth foundation (2017) "religions are shared
collection of transcendental beliefs that have been passed on from believers to converts, which are
held by adherents to be actively meaningful and serious and either based on formally documented
doctrine or established cultural practices." There are many religions in the world some are old as the
beginning of time and some are newer. Hinduism is one of the oldest organized religion in the

They believe that other God and Goddess are the reincarnation of the one soul. They believe that
there were 600 different reincarnation of the one soul (Kauai's Hindus Monastery, 2017). Because of
wide beliefs they embrace Jesus as a guru. They do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God, just
as teacher like many others (All about religion.org (2017). However, Christianity is a monotheistic
religion, which only have one God. Christians believe in one true and living God, who exists as
three distinct: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (Crain, 2017). Third difference between the
Christianity and Hinduism is each religions believes of soul and body connection. Christians believe
that a person has one soul and one body. That when a person dies the soul leaves this earth and go to
a place called heaven or hell. Soul of person sends to heaven or hell, depending on their actions in
the earth. However, the Hinduism believes that person's soul can be reincarnated to different life
after bodily death. They believe that life cycle will happen until that soul does actions to please the
God. Hinduism believes the people life and fate are interconnected with their previous life. Person's
fate or events in their life depend on their actions of their pervious life (Jayaram, 2015). Another
difference between the Hinduism and Christianity are their concept of sin. Christians believe when a

N.2 and Anantha Murthy K S2 1 Dept. Of Civil Engineering, Shree Devi Institute of Technology, Kenjar, Mangalore – 574142 Email: jayaramhonnavar@gmail.com 2 Dept. of Applied geology, Kuvempu University, Shimoga, Karnataka – 577451 Abstract The present study was taken up to identify trace metals as well as to assess the extent of anthropogenic inputs into the Shimoga area. The Kallur mandli and Sagar road industial estate of shimoga in and around collected sediment samples from ponds, channel and, river for present study. The samples were analyzed heavy metals Viz., Cd, Pb, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe. The obtained results are compared with non–polluted sediments of near gadikoppa pond sample, which is away from the industrial activity for used as back ground values. The study area samples exhibits higher concentration of Cd, Pb, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe than the unpolluted values. Thus, industrial activity has allowed the accumulation of certain heavy metals by transportation and deposition into surrounding area of pond, channel and river sediment matrix. • 5. Compare And Contrast Zoroastrianism And Judaism One key element Zoroastrianism and Judaism share is a monotheistic view on God. Both share in the belief that there was creator for everything, and this creator has numerous names in both religions. While they may share this view, Zoroastrianism also believes in a dualistic view for good and evil (pg. 229). Zoroaster taught that two spirits stemmed from the creator Ahura Mazda. Whether one chose to follow Spenta Mainyu – the Beneficent Spirit, or Angra Mainyu – the Evil Spirit, determined their fate regarding heaven and hell. The afterlife is another key element they share. While Judaism does not believe in a heaven or a hell, they do believe in Sheol which is the place of the dead. Sheol is a place of darkness where both the righteous and ... • 7. The Private Market And Venture Capitalist Mr. Whitney presented enlightening information regarding entrepreneurship, why it is important and how the private market or venture capitalist are so important in investing in entrepreneurs. Venture capital is changing the global economy as banks are not investing in businesses anymore other than lending funds. Wealth creation has changed due to the internet and today wealth creation is out pacing the wealth created by inheritance (M. Whitney, personal communication, May 21, 2016). An axiom from Mr. Whitney's company is networks create and disrupt net worth. As explained, networks bind things together, but they take away somewhere else. This can be illustrated in the railroad industry. The railroad created a network, which tied the east and west coast together, facilitating travel and movement of goods from coast to coast. However, the railroad industry disrupted net worth of the horse and buggy industry, as this mode of transportation was replaced. It is typical for organizations to follow a common business model within an industry but, if you assume that there is only one business model, then your organization gets disrupted and you are blindsided. Another idea presented was retail is a good indicator of market shifts, with three big trends portrayed in retail that is extended to every industry as a predictive indicator. One of these trends is consolidation, which we see companies buying up companies, therefore the customer base is getting smaller. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Essay about Comparing the Religions of Christianity and... "If I were asked to define the Hindu creed, I should simply say: Search after truth through non– violent means. A man may not believe in God and still call himself a Hindu. Hinduism is a relentless pursuit after truth... Hinduism is the religion of truth. Truth is God." –– Mahatma Gandhi "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." –– C. S. Lewis Hinduism and Christianity are two religions that have been around for thousands of years. These religions have developed philosophies on certain subjects that can be compared in order to show their similarities and differences. Some of the main subjects that can be reflected upon are the paths to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The god Vishnu is the creator, and Shiva is the destroyer. One is not looked upon as better than the other. This shows the ultimate realism that the Hindu culture possesses. These are not the only gods in Hindu culture. There are many others and all have special skills and talents. The gods themselves also give birth to the idea of avatars, or the form of god when he or she comes to earth. Perhaps the most important part of the philosophy of a religion lay in its path to enlightenment. The main ideas of enlightenment come through the Four Ends of Life. The first of these ends is Moksa. Moksa could be considered the realization of separation between the spiritual self and the physical self. It is only through this realization that one can be released from the mortal coil and allowed to spiritual liberty. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan says it is "To inquire into his true self, to live in and from it, to determine by its own energy what it shall be inwardly and what it shall make of the outward circumstances, to (find) the whole life on the power and truth of the spirit..." It is through Moska that the Hindu follower becomes familiar with the existence of the spiritual world. The second of the Four Ends of life is Kama. This end says that we must pass through life in an ethical manner that brings about the most from life. This includes learning its great values as well as experiencing its enjoyments. Ancient Greek Dramas : Oedipus Rex, Antigone, And Medea The three Ancient Greek dramas, Oedipus Rex, Antigone, (both written by the playwright Sophocles), and Medea (written by the playwright Euripides) can all be connected by relating them to the three motifs– suffering, revenge and determination. Although the characters go through various forms of suffering throughout the play, they all undergo pain, distress, and hardship: physically, mentally, and emotionally. These feelings could result in a thirst for sweet revenge. They want to take vengeance upon who ever inflicted the pain and heartache upon them. Thus, this strong craving for revenge results in the unwavering determination needed to accomplish their main objective: these three themes are all connected within each of the three dramas: Oedipus Rex, Antigone, and Medea. Throughout each of the tragic dramas, the characters suffer in some way. Although the characters at some point in their lives were happy, they all endure suffering: "...life is filled with suffering, and that this suffering that we experience is directly caused by our will" (Williams 1). In the play, Oedipus Rex, Oedipus has a pleasant wish, until he causes his own suffering. Before his downfall, he defeated the sphinx by solving her riddle and became the King of Thebes. He was living a happy, full life until he brought suffering and ruin upon himself. Once Oedipus learns the truth about whom his paternal parents are his whole world comes crashing down. The responsiveness level, transparency and agility of 7EJ SC was based on a business model strategy which designed storages location, inventory levels and transportation strategy supported by technology (Chopra & Meindl, 2007). Companies should design business strategy for success on SC implementation (Chopra & Meindl, 2007; Sethi, Yan & Zhan, 2005). Facilities and demand: Storage and transport products are a costly activity (Slack & Lewis, 2011). 7EJ SC challenge was to design a transport strategy that allows daily products transportation at minimum cost from storages centers to franchise stores. The integrated IT solutions gave the data needed for forecasting demand. To fulfill 7EJ SC strategy each store center was geographically located based on customers demand data (Sethi, Yan & Zhan, 2005). As religion is considered a controversial topic, Tantrism is among one of the most eccentric religions. It is considered an interesting religion due to the fact that sexual experiences play large roles in the process of redemption for its followers. "The energy, once aroused, is harnessed to rituals, meditation and yoga, turned back up within the human energy–mechanism, and used to propel the consciousness toward blissful enlightenment" (Rawson, 30). To transcend this world and unite with the cosmos is a step to achieve enlightenment. Thus, sex is a logical solution in achieving this goal of self–enlightenment. Since these sexual experiences propose a different goal aside from reproducing, the rituals are also different. Unlike informal sex or even the close tied bonds of marital sex experienced in everyday life, Tantric followers take these sexual experiences much more serious. Thus, before sexual intercourse, rituals and flowers are often offered to these sexual organs. Also, many positions are practiced as it "enhances the act of love" (Rawson, 34). Tantric sex is much more involved. • 48. What Is The Similarities Between Hinduism And Buddhism Studying and learning about Hinduism and Buddhism, I realized how similar they really are, other than the central differences. Both religions grew in the same path of the same wisdom after they were born in the womb of the same Mother. They both revolve around the understanding of the implications of death and the importance of the need to solve that. We can see a good example to show this in the Buddhist painting of Kalacakra. The god of death is holding the wheel of existence is the same god of Death revealed in the Upanishads, who is shown before Arjuna in the Bhagavadgita. The picture of death shows him holding the wheel of life with his fierce eyes and between his teeth. This terrible form symbolizes the mortality and existence and the ... I realized Hinduism and Buddhism's relationship could easily be compared to that of Judaism and Christianity. Christ was born in a Jewish family, just as the Buddah was born in a Hindu family. Many still argue that Buddhism was an outgrowth of Hinduism and that the Buddha was a part of the Hindu pantheon, a view that is not tolerable to many Buddhists. However, it is also said that Buddhism gained its acceptance and popularity because it freed the people in India from the oppression of orthodoxy and tradition (Jayaram). The Buddha's understanding and teaching gave hope to those who had no hope for the freedom of choice in a dominated society. The society was governed and ruled by the case system, dominance of ritual form of worship and the high–class position of the privileged classes, which the Vedic religion considered as firm and unquestionable. The Hindu tradition established the Buddha as an incarnation of Vishnu long ago. But heavy conflict occurred between both traditions in the subcontinent for a long period of time. Even though both the religions have fundamental differences, Hinduism and Buddhism influenced each other in many ways. The Buddhist belief of non–injury and kindness toward all living beings started becoming common throughout India, while Mahayana Buddhism took indication from the traditional Indian approaches of religious worship. Suffering In Buddhism Research Paper Daniel Mora Professor Leontov World Religions August 2, 2015 Suffering in Buddhism and Hinduism The concept that all life is suffering directly to the Hindu and Buddhist teachings have a lot in common, but they are two different religions that have different belies and teachings for their religion. They both use the same word "dukkha" in order to describe their way of suffering, but their meaning of suffering has a small difference. When it comes to Buddhism you are born into suffering and that your task is to find a solution for serving. • 52. Hannah Arendt's Four Types Of Evil After the second world war, Hannah Arendt spent a lot of time studying the 'evil' actions that the Nazi's had committed during the war, and as a result of her studies, she came to the conclusion that most evil is done by people who never make up their minds to be good or evil. To fully understand her statement, we must first look at the four types of evil: 1. Diabolical evil 2. Idealistic evil 3. Instrumental evil 4. And finally, banal or unconscious evil This first type of evil, Diabolical evil, is considered to be when an evil action is conducted with no other purpose other than to be evil. However, there is contradiction whether this type of evil actually exists. If we look at masochism, for example, the purpose behind their evil actions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my opinion God is not the creator of evil and suffering. This is implied in the bible, in Genesis 1:31, when it says; "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." Therefore, everything that he had made was good, thus He could not possibly be the author of evil. So where did suffering come from? God wanted a genuine relationship with us. He wanted us to sincerely love him, like he already loved us. However, this would not have been possible without the freedom of choice, otherwise we would just be like robots, programmed to love God, rather than actually experiencing it (Dickson, 2001). However, when God gave Adam and Eve this freedom, we, as humans, betrayed him and chose to eat the fruit from the tree that we were forbidden not too. We abused the free will that he gave us and walked away from Him. This, in my opinion, is the reason that good people suffer. Because when we walked away from God, we also brought natural and moral evil into the world. Moral evil is the suffering that occurs as a result of our own uncaring, selfish, and hateful actions. For example, if we look at famine, the world produces enough food for everyone to have 3,000 calories a day; however, it is a result of our own self–centeredness that thousands of people around the world starve. It is a result of our own free will. Furthermore, natural evil can also be explained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. Reincarnation Reincarnation– Buddhism vs. Hinduism How would it feel to know that after you died, you would be reborn into a new body? That the deciding factor in what you would become was how you lived your life? Beliefs like these have existed for at least 3,000 years. Originating and commonly practiced in Western countries, this is called reincarnation. To know that you have lived many lives before this one and that there are many more to come is a very attractive perspective from which to judge the meaning of life. It can be a great comfort for those who seek liberation on the exclusive basis of their inner resources. The Buddha described reincarnation as lighting successive candles using the flame of the preceding candle. Although each flame is casually connected to the one that came before it, it is not the same flame. When one personality dies, a new one comes into being. Buddhism teaches that what is reborn is not the person but that one moment gives rise to another and that this momentum continues even after death. Instead of a fixed entity, what is reborn is a "stream of consciousness," whose quality has been conditioned by karma. It is similar to Hinduism in that karma determines the circumstances of subsequent lives, so there is continuity between personalities but not persistence of identity. Circumstances of rebirth are not seen as rewards or punishments from a controlling God but are the natural results of various good deeds and misdeeds. The cycle of rebirths involves suffering and continues until all cravings are lost and nirvana is achieved. The basic difference between Hinduism and Buddhism is this. Hindus believe in an external existence of self which can eventually merge into a greater self, and Buddhists believe that the self is ultimately transitory, and its elimination is freedom from material existence which is suffering. They are quite different approaches, yet the practices, such as meditation, chanting, and self–discipline, and effects, such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

American culture is not different in this regard. Two of the most significant values of American culture are a strong work ethic and the competitive spirit. This paper will examine how these values define American culture, how these values affected me personally growing up, and how these values influence my attempts to influence others. Strong Work Ethic and Competitive Spirit American culture is known around the world for many things, but two of the most influential values in my life have been developing a strong work ethic along with the competitive spirit that can be found in virtually every aspect of American life. Whether it is creating a quality product or just completing a hard day's work, as Americans we are taught that we have accomplished something to feel good about if we have given maximum effort. This belief was largely in contrast to previous cultures who had regarded hard work as a curse (Hill, 1996). • 58. The Mental Growth Of A Person difficult to explain. Quantifying the mental growth of a person, therefore, is a real problem. It is difficult to say when and at what stage a person becomes mentally mature. By subjecting an individual to certain tests and testing situations, we may arrive at certain conclusions, but we cannot be sure how accurate our conclusions are. We have very complex personalities, because of which it is really difficult to control our behavior all the time. However mature and diligent we are, at times we are bound to come under the influence of our emotions and act immaturely. There are many physical, mental and environmental factors, which play upon our emotions and incite our behavior. This is very human and normal. In a way it is also necessary, because we need to let out our emotions occasionally and provide a safe outlet for our pent–up frustrations and disappointments in life. Each of us has a child inside us, formed out of our childhood experiences. It remains active, even after we become adults. Temperamentally, it is unstable, immature, emotional and also highly creative. Although it is a relic of our past, it is an essential and important component of our personalities. Even after we become adults, it continues to play a significant role in shaping our lives and behavior. Since it is filled with emotions, it requires some caring and nurturing on our part, so that we will not feel dull and depressed. It also needs to be kept under control so that we will not act irrationally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
