Theme Of The Million Dollar Throw
The theme i chose for the million dollar throw was that dreams can be accomplished with hard work.
It is showed many times throughout the story. Nate Brodie shows a lot of determination for his goal
until he finally reaches it.
Nate Brodie has a dream to meet Tom Brady and to win a million dollars. The only way he can
accomplish this goal is with hard work and determination. So he starts by practicing everyday, all day
he throws a football through a tire. He does this to work on his accuracy and so he knows he can do it.
He also practices by being on the high school football team. There is so much on the line for him at
the time. His parents are in financial trouble and his best friend is going to go blind if they don t get a
surgery soon.

Protestantism In Nineteenth-Century America
Nineteenth century America contained a baffling cluster of Protestant factions and categories, with
distinctive teachings, practices, and hierarchical structures. However, by the 1830s these bodies had a
profound zealous accentuation in like manner. Protestantism has constantly contained a critical
outreaching strain, yet it was in the nineteenth century that a specific style of zeal turned into the
overwhelming type of otherworldly expression. What most importantly else portrayed this zeal was its
dynamism, the pervasive feeling of lobbyist vitality it discharged. As Charles Grandison Finney, the
main outreaching of mid nineteenth century America, put it: religion is the work of man, it is
something for man to do. This fervent activism included a critical doctrinal move far from the
predominately Calvinist introduction that had portrayed a lot of eighteenth century American
Christianity.

Evidence-Based Nursing Practice
Running head: EVIDENCE BASED NURSING PRACTICE
Evidence Based Nursing Practice

Abstract
For patients that have indwelling catheters, with the evidence based practice and standards of care,
UTI s does still continue to be an ongoing problem today. In one of the large hospitals in my area had
recently developed a poster and video approach with special focus on alternatives to urinary
catheterization, removing catheters early, and the reinforcement of sterile technique prior insertion and
foley catheter care were used to educate nursing staff and improve outcomes. The purpose of this
paper is to educate nursing on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lower income communities are probably more affected. The cost of a single episode to treat UTI s
ranges from $980 $2900, depending on the presence of the bacteremia (Saint, 2000).
Differences in care based on evidence Sterile technique is required for insertion of an indwelling
urinary catheter in the hospital setting, but clean technique can be used for intermittent catheterization
in non acute settings. By itself, sterile technique on insertion doesn t prevent UTI s. Prevention of UTI
s depends on knowledge of causes, proper care techniques, and early catheter removal. Nurses are
taught early on in school that sterile technique helps to reduce infections. It was drilled in our heads
the entire time and now to have the evidence tell us that early catheter removal, along with proper
technique good hand hygiene is the key to reduce UTI s.
Summary
UTI s is an all too common problem that causes unnecessary distress to patients and delays their
recovery during their hospital stay. All healthcare professionals should adhere to these good practice
points that could reduce the risk of UTI s and assure staff that they are demonstrating best practice in
their care.

1. What is the philosophy of the counseling profession? How has this changed over time? Why is this
important to study?
A. My practical view of the philosophy of the counseling profession is that each session is a journey
of self exploration by the client, meant to increase his/her level of self understanding and self
awareness.

The Old Private Pension System
The old private pension system was created in the 1920 s and expanded throughout the 30 s and 40 s
(McDonnell). Private pensions were considered one of the three income sources for retired elderly.
Originally, private pensions had defined benefits. The employer and employee would agree to a
percentage of salary that the employee would receive from the company annually during retirement.
Contractually obligated, this placed the liability onto the employer. Estimates say that employees
could receive around 40% of their last year s salary as annual income with defined benefits. In the
1990 s, the pension plans gradually changed from defined benefits to defined contribution. The
employees, rather than negotiating retirement salary now determine the amount of their salary that will
be saved in a retirement fund. Retirement income is a burden on the employee rather than employer
(Ghilarducci 8). In order to equal the income of the old plans, employees give their retirement savings
to mutual funds that invest in the stock market. While a key aspect of retirement, the system has
evolved like most economic institutions, favoring the wealthy and established. Furthermore, the
private pension system contributes to a market bubble, putting money into the stock market regardless
of market strength. These two problems cause the modern pension system to be flawed and unstable.
The program must undergo drastic reform in order to save private pensions. It is evident that the
current pension

Introduction. . This Essay Critically Considers The Clinical
Introduction
This essay critically considers the clinical applications of psychoanalysis in the examination and
therapy of challenges relating to human behavior, in particular, obsessional neurosis . The essay
explores the evidence for Freud s use of psychoanalysis in the case of the Rat Man . This discussion
then assesses the wider implications of the use of psychoanalysis in the treatment of obsessional
neurosis . By focusing on making conscious the unconscious, we gain insight and release repressed
emotions along with experiences. Hereby we employ psychoanalytic theories, elements and
techniques established within psychoanalysis. The essay argues that the psychoanalytical method is

Mostly because of his newfound theories around children s psychosexual development. This combined
with his focus on the unconscious, penis envy and the Oedipal complex made him and his newfound
theories into a controversial topic amongst his peers.
The Rat Man, as described by Freud in Notes upon a case of obsessional neurosis (1909). He was one
of Freud s patients. At the age of 30, Rat Man was obsessively afraid of rats. Freud traced this fear
back to a repressed death wish, generated by an underlying oedipal conflict. The Rat Man s analysis
laid the foundation of Freud s psychoanalytical obsessional neurosis theory. The identity of the rat
man remains unclear; most believe it was Ernst Lancer.

Be aware that every essay is guided by the perception of the person who wrote it. It is virtually
impossible to be completely impartial and objective towards everything we analyze. Our life history
continuously shapes us into thinking and acting the way we do; the place where you were born, the
childhood we experienced. It all has an effect on our decision making process. Even our sex: male or
female. Everything makes a difference in perception.

Billy The Kid Research Paper
I don t blame you for writing of me as you have. You had to believe other stories, but then I don t
know if anyone would believe anything good of me anyway, Billy the Kid. Although many people
believe Billy the kid was a bad person, there are many stories of Billy that make him seem like a
carefree and funny person. Billy the Kid had to overcome lots of obstacles in his life and those
hardships are what made him a bad person. Billy s real name was Henry McCarty,he was also known
as William H. Bonney (2 Billy ). Many rumors have been stated about Billy the Kid for years, but
what is the real life of Billy the Kid? When Billy was still a child his mother remarried a guy named
William Antrim but she shortly died of Tuberculosis. Antrim didn t want the burden of raising two
small boys, so he separated them and placed them in foster homes (Brothers). At the age of 14, the
smooth cheeked, blue eyed McCarty was forced to find work in a hotel, washing and waiting tables at
the restaurant ( Old ). Before Billy s mother died he had a younger brother named Joseph, who is also
known as Joe. Billy and his brother ran around town with other boys their age because there was ...

I Attended University Dance Theatre
I attended University Dance Theatre over the weekend, and after just recently becoming interested in
dance and appreciating dance as an art form I was excited to watch a live dance performance. There
were a total of nine dances, each of which, were choreographed by different people. Not surprisingly,
every dance was extremely different, and left the audience feeling different emotions.
It was hard picking two dances that I enjoyed the most because they were all fantastic. I picked two
that were simple, in the sense that anyone could determine the reason behind the dance. The first is
powerful, and the second is humorous. It was interesting breaking down the dances, determining the
choreographic and theatrical elements, and concluding the meaning of the dance if any. My
expectations were high going in, and I was not disappointed. Beginning with the powerful dance in the
first half Still?. Still? was preformed by two African American women. I found this dance interesting
because the music was spoken text by Martin Luther King, Jr. in the beginning and towards the end
was poetry that was spoken with strong emotion. The stage lighting was turned down, almost
completely dark, and the two women had dark clothing, which, indicated sorrow, frustration, and
anger almost. The dancers only used a small portion of the stage with no props and a completely bare
stage the focus was directed to the two dancers.
The women had relatively low to medium, sharp movements in some parts

Amanda s Cognitive Abilities And Cognitive Processing Skills
Amanda s cognitive abilities were assessed through the use of the WPPSI IV in addition to
supplemental subtests from the WJ IV COG and KABC II. On the WPPSI IV, subtests that measure
different cognitive processing abilities combine to form five index scores: Verbal Comprehension,
Fluid Reasoning, Working Memory, Visual Spatial Processing and Processing Speed which all
together make up the Full Scale IQ score (FSIQ).
On the WPPSI IV, Amanda earned an FSIQ score of 97, which ranks her overall ability at the 42nd
percentile and falls within the Average range. However, this estimate of her general intellectual ability

It should be noted that all of the subtests required Amanda to listen to a question, and then respond
verbally with an answer.
The first subtest administered assessed Amanda s verbal reasoning and concept formation abilities.
Specifically, Amanda was verbally presented with two words and she had to tell the examiner how
they were alike or similar. On this measure she scored in the Average range (Similarities, scaled score
= 9). On the second subtest administered, Amanda was asked general knowledge questions, which she
had to answer verbally (e.g. how many months are in a year). Amanda scored within the Average
range on this subtest (Information: scaled score =9). On the last subtest, Amanda was presented with a
word and was asked to verbally provide a definition. She scored within the Below Average range
(Vocabulary, scaled score = 6) on this task to derive the word meanings. As the task items increased
with difficulty, Amanda responded with I don t know.
Amanda obtained a Verbal Comprehension score of 93, which is ranked at the 32nd percentile and is
classified in the Average range. An additional composite score taking into account all three subtests
could not be calculated, given the significant difference in the range of scores. When

How To Ownin Car Battery Booster
Surveys reveal that dead or flat batteries are at the top of the list of vehicle related call outs. Drivers
caught unaware that their car battery has recharged usually pay for the neglect. They lose precious
hours just waiting for a vehicle to pass by and provide the needed boost.
Car batteries discharge because a light may have been left on. This is definitely not intentional, but it
could happen. A sensible car owner must be ready with a tool at hand. When a driver is unprepared for
such an occurrence a great disruption in routine results and for this reason, it is important to own a car
battery booster. In our opinion, the best tool to carry around is a portable jump starter.

Once a secure connection is made, the current can be directed to the electrical system of the stalled
car. With a few electrical jolts the starter motor will spurt into life and start operating once again.
When the car is running by itself the discharged battery will be recharged via the alternator of the
vehicle. Battery charging could take anywhere from half an hour to three hours.
Advantages of owning a portable booster
The latest versions of portable jump starters available in the market today are safe to use, very
convenient to lug around, and 100% reliable. With a proper car booster at hand, you won t have to
arrive late at work again. Should a car battery discharge threaten to ruin your day, all you need to do is
to bring the portable jump starter from out of the luggage compartment and use it as directed by the
manufacturer.
Investing on something that is guaranteed to work is a very smart move. If your car battery is drained
of charge and is unable to run the starter car motor, then you will have a solution at hand. The most
effective boosters in the market today can provide the necessary kick start quite effectively. High
performance boosters are not that

Women Still Can T Have It All By Anne-Marie Slaughter
Women can have it all is an abstract that has been pushed heavily in recent feminist movements.
Although, some believe that women do have the ability to have it all, with a family and career but,
Anne Marie Slaughter, president of New American Foundation, disagrees saying women can still not
have it all. She believes that women are still having to choose between a successful career and family.
Anne Marie Slaughter uses her own narration to prove her point, as well, as support from other news
sources and government officials. In Why Women Still Can t Have It All by Anne Marie Slaughter,
she used narration, a variety of voice, and style to make her argument, but, the narration made the
article seem opinionated, more than factual. First in this article, Slaughter presented her story of being
a director of policy planning, and how this motivated her to write the article. She explains her

would have been a more convincing argument if the author had used some logos, instead of just
having her narration and incorporating a few other successful people in Washington that stepped
down, because of family matters. Anne Marie Slaughter in the article Women can t have it all created
an admirable, and stylish, presentation of the abstract, but it did not create the most effective argument
to the thesis. The narration even though, it included example of people with similar problems, it still

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869 1948), a past lawyer now world renowned activist, led India s

Colonial rule. To him the greatest menace to the world today is growing, exploiting, irresponsible

the subjects, it would be destroyed if they withdrew support. It was practiced in multiple stages and

some of these methods, such as refusal to court and schools, were taken too far; I believe that it

Acute Advanced Congestive Heart Failure Analysis
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a condition where the heart is unable to efficiently pump blood to
supply the body with adequate blood flow and it can cause fluid to build up in the lungs. There are
several disease processes and risk factors that predispose an individual to this condition. CHF can be
chronic or acute and life threatening, and most of these patients are in the older adult population.
Some symptoms of CHF include fatigue, shortness of breath, edema, and diminished exercise
capacity. There are several medical management techniques for this condition including lifestyle
modifications, medications and surgical intervention. Below, I will summarize two articles on two
different medical treatments for CHF.

Oral Language and Reading Comprehension
Introduction: This paper is intentionally made to show the comparison between oral language and
reading comprehension. Oral language and reading comprehension are both essential to every
individual. All of us had undergone oral language when we are still young and as it develops and as
we grow and mature, it enables us to be more knowledgeable and prepares us to a more needed
comprehension in reading. This two are significant and are interrelated to each other. As a parent,
talking to the child helps expands vocabulary, develop background knowledge, and inspire a curiosity

Developmental stages of child language development: Phase I Protolinguistic or Protolanguage ,
Phase II Transition, Phase III Language. The Protolanguage Stage (which is associated with the

exchange of attention is the beginning of language. During the Transition Stage (which is associated
with the developmental stage of walking) there is a transition from child tongue to mother tongue.
During this stage the pragmatic mode develops; a demand for goods and services that seeks a response
in the form of an action. In Phase III Language Stage, the child moves from talking about shared
experience to sharing information with a third person. The child realizes that reality is beyond their
own experience; they invite confirmation, enjoy shared experience.
From the ontogenesis of conversation we are able to gain insight into human learning and human
understanding. Meaning is created at the intersection of two contradictions the experiential one,
between the material and the conscious modes of experience, and the interpersonal one, between
different personal histories of the interacting taking part (Halliday,1994). Properly developed oral
language enables a child to effectively communicate their thoughts and viewpoints with others. It is

Contribution Of Winston Churchill
INTRODUCTION
Sir Winston Churchill was born in 1874, and is the son of English politician Lord Randolph Churchill
and American socialite Lady Randolph Spencer Churchill. He was a British politician who served in
the British Army, as a member of Parliament, and as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from
1940 to 1945 and 1951 to 1955. From 1940 to 1955, he was the leader of the Conservative Party in
Britain. In 1953, he received a Knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II and the Nobel Prize for
Literature.
While Winston Churchill is most known for his leadership of Britain during the Second World War
and his prominent role in the defeat of Nazi Germany and the Axis Powers, he is equally responsible
for the brutalization of numerous foreign nations and cultures, the unwarranted deaths of three million
Indians due to a famine that he purposefully worsened, and the oversight of unprovoked attacks on
Greek civilian protesters.
Churchill was known for arming troops who previously had collaborative ties to Nazis, under the
guise of national leverage . When communist friendly forces in Greece became more powerful than he
originally anticipated, Churchill aligned Britain s forces with pro Nazi forces, thereby switching
alliances, and either killing or injuring hundreds of people in a 1944 unarmed protest in Athens,
Greece. Churchill even considered swapping sides and fighting on the side of Nazi Germany at the
end of World War II since he began to hate the Soviets more than

Evaluation a Course Book
Part 1
Selecting a course book is an important task for any English language teacher or evaluator.
Cunningsworth (1984) observes that few English language teachers do not depend on a course book.
For this reason, the selection of materials probably represents the single most important decision that
the language teacher has to make (Hutchinson, 1987, p. 37). It is very important that the teacher has
the capacity to evaluate any course book in order to choose the most effective and suitable one
(McDonough and Shaw, 1993; Littlejohn and Windeatt, 1988). According to Cunningsworth (1985, p.
14), the purpose of an evaluation is to investigate the strong and weak points in specific material.
However, the teacher can adapt the weak points of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

lessons and activities (McDonough and Shaw, 2003).
3. Authenticity: The course book should provide an authentic language material for EFL learners by
covering a range of input. It should also provide the students with opportunities to use that language in
order to succeed in communicative purposes (Tomlinson, 2002, p. 21). As Graves (2000)
recommends, Activities should help students develop specific language and skills they need for
authentic communication (p. 153).
4. Attractiveness: The attractiveness of the book will facilitate the learning process by engaging the
students and ensuring that they do not feel bored. The attractiveness of the book can come in the form
of colours, pictures that inspire their imaginations and relate to real life, and a variety of interesting
topics that involve games and songs. This will increase the students motivation to learn
(Cunningsworth, 1995, p. 23). Such motivation should be appropriate for the learners ages, which in
this case is between 11 and 13 years old.
5. Cultural perspective: We have to develop our

Using Clostridium botulinum as a Biological Weapon Essay...
Fatal Dilemma: Using Clostridium botulinum as a Biological Weapon
Ever since the dawn of biotechnology, the world had to face a new dilemma: bioterrorism. Using
biological agents such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc., bioterrorism attack aims to cause illness of
death in people, animals, or plants as a method of warfare. Used throughout history, biological weapon
serves as a pivotal role in disarming an army. Botulism toxin, known for the most toxic substance in
the biological world, has been used throughout history as a biological weapon. The bacteria
Clostridium botulinum causes botulism causes botulism disease, which is a serious paralytic illness
that strikes all age groups. The clinical forms of botulism include foodborne ... Show more content on

The dead bodies that carried highly contagious diseases, such as smallpox and bubonic plague, were
catapulted into besieged towns, where they quickly spread to civilians within the town walls (Hurlbert
4).
Usage of biological weapon reached its height during the 19th century world wars, as agents were
used in all criminal, terrorist, or state sponsored events (Anderson 20). Sprouted from the world wars,
biological research programs for both offensive and defensive strategies have been developed by the
United States, Britain, the former Soviet Union, Canada, and several other nations (Fong vii).
However, attention has not been focused on the potential threats of biological warfare and
bioterrorism until the terrorist attack on September 11th, 2001 and the anthrax crisis in Florida and
New York City (Fong vii). Throughout history, biological warfare has played a significant role, as
biological weapons, deliberately or inadvertently, in restricted and assisted armies over the centuries.
Advantages of biological weapons are that they are effective in spreading the disease, highly toxic,
inexpensive, and cultivated in a short period of time. Due to the detrimental effects of biological
weapon, the army faced with these weapons would be easily disarmed. However, biological weapons
prove difficult to store and deliver without unintentionally releasing them (Hurlbert 6). Therefore,
innocent workers and civilians are

Krill In Antarctica
Antarctic krill are usually less than 6 cm in length but their size belies the major role they play in
sustaining much of the life in the Southern Ocean. They are the primary food source for many species
of whales, seals, penguins and fish.
Studies have shown that stocks of krill in Antarctica have declined dramatically in recent years. The
reason for this is likely to be a fall in the amount of sea ice in the winter months in the Antarctic
Peninsula region.
Krill numbers in this region may have dropped by as much as 80% since the 1970 s so today s stocks
are a mere 1/5th of what they were only 30 years ago. The decline in krill may in turn account for the
decline in the numbers of some penguin species.
In the early life stages krill require

How Does Joy Kogawa Show Sacrifice
Obasan Essay Sacrifices are a daily aspect of life throughout the world. Whether big or small all
sacrifices have significance. Giving up something of high value in exchange for another of seemingly
greater value, precedence, and care is to sacrifice, surrender, or forfeit. Obasan, by Joy Kogawa is a
prime representation of the significance and importance of sacrifice in everyday life. Throughout the
trials and tribulations of the Japanese internment, characters in the short story Obasan must make
selfless sacrifices for the sake of others. The nature of these sacrifices highlight specific character
traits throughout the novel. Obasan, by Joy Kogawa explores the sacrifices of physical health, voice,

Obasan put forth a valiant effort towards protecting both Naomi and Stephen from the harsh truth of
their mother s death, and of the extent to which the Canadian Government went in an attempt at
Japanese Canadian genocide. In order for Obasan to protect Naomi and Stephen she turned to the
sacrifice of her voice; which was silence, the language of her grief is silence, she learned it well, its
idioms, its nuances. ( ) Constant was the need for silence in Obasan s life, both for her own protection
and the childrens. With the impeccable responsibility of caring for Naomi and Stephen there also came
a great burden with the understanding that there would never be a real mother and father in their lives
again. Naomi once says to Aunt Emily, Some memories too, might better be forgotten. Didn t Obasan
once say, It is better to forget... What is past recall is past pain (45) This shows the direct example
Obasan imprinted on Naomi, in all this time I ve never seen her cry Naomi says. Obasan loved Naomi
and Stephen dearly, she did whatever she thought was right to keep them safe. Though her sacrifice of
voice was initially to protect, the lack of knowledge being conveyed to the child brought upon many
unanswered questions, Please tell me about Mother , I would say to Obasan. I was consumed by the
question. Devoured alive. But Obasan gave me no answers. I did not have, I never had, the key to the
vault of her thoughts (31). Obasan sacrificed the use of her voice to bring a blanket of protection over
the harsh but inevitable truths of Naomi and Stephen s parents, similarly she sacrificed rights in order

My Final Project
For my final project, I decided to create an artistic representation of Ricky Smith s character. created a
wanted poster, a police report, and lastly an arrest warrant. I originally started out with only wanting to
create a wanted poster for Ricky but after doing research I quickly learned that there is much more
that must happen before a wanted poster can be created. In this essay, I will describe what my research
has taught me about the criminal science is not only the United States but the United Kingdom as well.
I will explain how the information I learned influenced the decisions I made throughout the process of

I did an additional google search to see if I could find a more specific source to help me and I was
pleasantly surprised with what I found. This search lead me to another source titled Police Reform and
Social Responsibility Bill. This source was only about arrest warrants and went in depth on what they
exactly are. This article was particularly helpful because it focused on the United Kingdom so I was
then better able to create this arrest warrant to the degree that it would have been created for Ricky s
case. This article goes into detail on when the warrant should be issued and what the prosecutor must
do to get the warrant. This journal helps the reader better understand what the Police Reform and
Social Responsibility bill means. It says, The effect of the clause is to require the consent of the
Director of Public Prosecutions before an arrest warrant can be issued in private prosecutions for
offenses where universal jurisdiction applies.
I now understood what must happen before an arrest warrant could be created I now had to figure out
what an arrest warrant really looked like. To do this I figured a visual representation would give me a
good start. I looked up United Kingdom arrest warrant examples and used that as a loose

Dysphagia Case Studies
2.1 Dysphagia
Dysphagia is the medical term for the symptom of difficulty in eating and swallowing solid and/or
liquid foods (Germain et al., 2006). It occurs when there is a problem with the neural control or the
structures involved in any part of the swallowing process (National Institutes of Health, 2012). These
problems make it hard for dysphagia people to moves food and liquids from mouth toward the
stomach.
It is estimated that dysphagia affects 18 million adults and millions of children in the United States
and 45% 87% of residents in long term care (Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, 1999;

Disadvantages Of Health Information Exchange
Health information exchange (HIE) is the electronic sharing of health information between different
healthcare organization and providers. The primary goal of HIE is to provide effective, timely, safe,
and secured healthcare information to ensure a patient is receiving the best care possible. This concept
is not new, it has been around since the early 90 s and with the advancement of computer technology,
and it is becoming the way of the future. Even with all the benefits associated with HIE, there are
however still some challenges that need to be addressed. Benefits of HIE The use of HIE helps aid
provider and healthcare facilities to provide fully coordinated patient care. For all parties involved in
HIE there can be great benefits, this includes the patients, providers, and other entities such as state,
government, and public health. Patients: Improved payment coordination Improved clinical outcomes
Improved transition of care Reduction or elimination of duplicative or unnecessary procedures or test
Providers: Reduced health care cost Improved patient safety by reducing medication and medical
errors Access to valuable clinical data Improved monitoring of patient movement and disease

The French Revolution And Neo Classical Era
Lumières
Show Title
The 18th century was a time for human knowledge to thrive, as well as the challenging of long held
dogmatic practices; this meant much change for both the commoner as well as the nobility. Lumières
is the title of our exhibition, which translates to Enlightenment in French, which we found to be most
appropriate for this era. This show title would instantly grab the audience s attention as it effectively
communicates the meaning behind the exhibit. The enlightenment was among many movements that
contributed to the progressiveness of the 1700 s during the French Revolution and Neo Classical era,
but none had nearly the impact that the Enlightenment era did for society in this time.

However, it is not until the 1760 s that the stagnation of fashion and its evolutionary pace shifts from a
gradual change to rapid progression (Payne, Winakor Farell Beck, 1992).
Our goal is to study more specifically the Neoclassical era, because this period in France gave a newly
and creative sense of style in both the arts and architecture that was very similar to those in ancient
Rome and Greece (Craske, 1997). During this conflict it caused people to recognize social status and
freedom of dress. This revolt caused civilians mainly middle class to rebel for equality and freedom
among their society (Mezler, 1998). Furthermore, our group will analyze this decline of the pompous
nobility as France is experiencing the onset of a revolution. Following this shift is the ultimate demise
of formal aristocracy, the once cynosure of all eyes has met their fate at the guillotine. A guillotine,
meant to symbolize the Reign of Terror nearing the end of the eighteenth century would perhaps be a
fitting and symbolic final piece to the exhibition.
International Location In addition to Dallas, the exhibition will also be held in Versailles, France.
As stated in Blum s introduction for the book Illusion and Reality: Fashion in France 1700 1900

structured court Louis XIV had created here. Another reason to have the exhibit here would be

Child Behavior And Language Assessment
The postulate we chose to research is from the social participation frame of reference. It states that if
routine is provided for difficult or disorganizing activities, children will develop calmer and more
cooperative behaviors during those activities (Olson, 2010). When researching for an article that either
supported or refuted the postulate, Family Centered Intervention for Young Children at risk for
Language and Behavior Problems was found. The study was initiated by dividing forty one randomly
selected children, ages 3 5 years, with potential language and behavioral difficulties into a control
group or intervention group receiving adult support (Chao, Bryan, Burstein, Ergul, 2006). The purpose
was to explore the impact parent involvement and routines have on the development of socially
acceptable behavior and language in children (Chao et al., 2006). Parents were asked to rate various
aspects of their child, such as motor skills and behavior, then decide activities in the Child Behavior
and Language Assessment (CBLA) to focus on and review intermittently in a log to help conclude if
the intervention was beneficial or not (Chao et al., 2006). The intervention was based on the reviews
and opinions of the parents and occasional professional observation. CBLA is comprised of
assessments of children s language and behavior, and routine based activities assisting the
establishment of language and ideal behavior (Chao et al., 2006). The

Amelia O Malley s Poem Swing
Amelia O Malley s pantoum, Swing , resembles how life fluctuates on its own with times of highs and
times of lows. This poem falls into a special type of poem founded many years ago called a pantoum,
that includes a specific style of quatrains. The poem includes the rhyme scheme abab, no set amount
of stanzas, and a set pattern for the lines. These characteristics make Swing a pantoum.
Rhyme scheme incorporates one of the many characteristic that makes Swing. a pantoum. Each of the

Forgiveness in Post-Genocide Rwanda
As said in Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in
Christ forgave you. After the genocide, which took the lives of countless loved ones, Rwandans re
found their faith in order to forgive their wrongdoers. Moreover, many of the Rwandan s needed to
forgive each other for their crimes in order to deal with the pain of losing their family members.
Rwanda is a small country where the individuals depend upon each other for the basic needs in life.
Once the genocide had ended, the government needed its citizens to cooperate with each other and
forgive in order to restore peace to the country. For the Rwandans, forgiveness is a way to self heal,
reconnect with God and to help the government become one again.
In the African nation of Rwanda, two tribes started a genocide which took the lives of more than
800,000 people. The Hutus and the Tutsis were enemies for generations; however the everyday
bickering and blank threats snowballed into a catastrophe. The genocide spread throughout the country
with overwhelming speed and violence. Everyone, from average citizens to high standing priests, took
part in murdering their neighbors and friends. After years of murders and torture, the Tutsis took
control of Rwanda in July of 1994 and ended the genocide. Afterwards, citizens started to seek
revenge and closure for their loved ones who had been taken from them.

Protestantism In Nineteenth-Century America Nineteenth century America contained a baffling cluster of Protestant factions and categories, with distinctive teachings, practices, and hierarchical structures. However, by the 1830s these bodies had a profound zealous accentuation in like manner. Protestantism has constantly contained a critical outreaching strain, yet it was in the nineteenth century that a specific style of zeal turned into the overwhelming type of otherworldly expression. What most importantly else portrayed this zeal was its dynamism, the pervasive feeling of lobbyist vitality it discharged. As Charles Grandison Finney, the main outreaching of mid nineteenth century America, put it: religion is the work of man, it is something for man to do. This fervent activism included a critical doctrinal move far from the predominately Calvinist introduction that had portrayed a lot of eighteenth century American Christianity. ... In one of the large hospitals in my area had recently developed a poster and video approach with special focus on alternatives to urinary catheterization, removing catheters early, and the reinforcement of sterile technique prior insertion and foley catheter care were used to educate nursing staff and improve outcomes. The cost of a single episode to treat UTI s ranges from $980 $2900, depending on the presence of the bacteremia (Saint, 2000). Differences in care based on evidence Sterile technique is required for insertion of an indwelling urinary catheter in the hospital setting, but clean technique can be used for intermittent catheterization in non acute settings. By itself, sterile technique on insertion doesn t prevent UTI s. Prevention of UTI s depends on knowledge of causes, proper care techniques, and early catheter removal. Nurses are taught early on in school that sterile technique helps to reduce infections. It was drilled in our heads the entire time and now to have the evidence tell us that early catheter removal, along with proper technique good hand hygiene is the key to reduce UTI s. Summary UTI s is an all too common problem that causes unnecessary distress to patients and delays their recovery during their hospital stay. All healthcare professionals should adhere to these good practice points that could reduce the risk of UTI s and assure staff that they are demonstrating best practice in their care. • 7. The Old Private Pension System The old private pension system was created in the 1920 s and expanded throughout the 30 s and 40 s (McDonnell). Private pensions were considered one of the three income sources for retired elderly. Originally, private pensions had defined benefits. The employer and employee would agree to a percentage of salary that the employee would receive from the company annually during retirement. Contractually obligated, this placed the liability onto the employer. Estimates say that employees could receive around 40% of their last year s salary as annual income with defined benefits. In the 1990 s, the pension plans gradually changed from defined benefits to defined contribution. The employees, rather than negotiating retirement salary now determine the amount of their salary that will be saved in a retirement fund. • 10. I Attended University Dance Theatre I attended University Dance Theatre over the weekend, and after just recently becoming interested in dance and appreciating dance as an art form I was excited to watch a live dance performance. There were a total of nine dances, each of which, were choreographed by different people. Not surprisingly, every dance was extremely different, and left the audience feeling different emotions. It was hard picking two dances that I enjoyed the most because they were all fantastic. I picked two that were simple, in the sense that anyone could determine the reason behind the dance. The first is powerful, and the second is humorous. It was interesting breaking down the dances, determining the choreographic and theatrical elements, and concluding the meaning of the dance if any. My expectations were high going in, and I was not disappointed. Beginning with the powerful dance in the first half Still?. Still? was preformed by two African American women. I found this dance interesting because the music was spoken text by Martin Luther King, Jr. in the beginning and towards the end was poetry that was spoken with strong emotion. The stage lighting was turned down, almost completely dark, and the two women had dark clothing, which, indicated sorrow, frustration, and anger almost. The dancers only used a small portion of the stage with no props and a completely bare stage the focus was directed to the two dancers. Contribution Of Winston Churchill INTRODUCTION Sir Winston Churchill was born in 1874, and is the son of English politician Lord Randolph Churchill and American socialite Lady Randolph Spencer Churchill. He was a British politician who served in the British Army, as a member of Parliament, and as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and 1951 to 1955. From 1940 to 1955, he was the leader of the Conservative Party in Britain. In 1953, he received a Knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II and the Nobel Prize for Literature. Churchill was known for arming troops who previously had collaborative ties to Nazis, under the guise of national leverage . When communist friendly forces in Greece became more powerful than he originally anticipated, Churchill aligned Britain s forces with pro Nazi forces, thereby switching alliances, and either killing or injuring hundreds of people in a 1944 unarmed protest in Athens, Greece. Cunningsworth (1984) observes that few English language teachers do not depend on a course book. For this reason, the selection of materials probably represents the single most important decision that the language teacher has to make (Hutchinson, 1987, p. 37). It is very important that the teacher has the capacity to evaluate any course book in order to choose the most effective and suitable one (McDonough and Shaw, 1993; Littlejohn and Windeatt, 1988). For what reasons I had no clue of yet. At the time of my birth, my parents were here over in the states in Wisconsin, though at the time they were living in Japan, as my dad was serving as an air traffic controller at the military base and my mom being an en I remember virtually nothing from Japan, as when I was only ... The French Revolution And Neo Classical Era Lumières Show Title The 18th century was a time for human knowledge to thrive, as well as the challenging of long held dogmatic practices; this meant much change for both the commoner as well as the nobility. Lumières is the title of our exhibition, which translates to Enlightenment in French, which we found to be most appropriate for this era. This show title would instantly grab the audience s attention as it effectively communicates the meaning behind the exhibit. However, it is not until the 1760 s that the stagnation of fashion and its evolutionary pace shifts from a gradual change to rapid progression (Payne, Winakor Farell Beck, 1992). Our goal is to study more specifically the Neoclassical era, because this period in France gave a newly and creative sense of style in both the arts and architecture that was very similar to those in ancient Rome and Greece (Craske, 1997). During this conflict it caused people to recognize social status and freedom of dress. This revolt caused civilians mainly middle class to rebel for equality and freedom among their society (Mezler, 1998). Furthermore, our group will analyze this decline of the pompous nobility as France is experiencing the onset of a revolution. Following this shift is the ultimate demise of formal aristocracy, the once cynosure of all eyes has met their fate at the guillotine. A guillotine, meant to symbolize the Reign of Terror nearing the end of the eighteenth century would perhaps be a fitting and symbolic final piece to the exhibition. • 34. Child Behavior And Language Assessment The postulate we chose to research is from the social participation frame of reference. It states that if routine is provided for difficult or disorganizing activities, children will develop calmer and more cooperative behaviors during those activities (Olson, 2010). When researching for an article that either supported or refuted the postulate, Family Centered Intervention for Young Children at risk for Language and Behavior Problems was found. The study was initiated by dividing forty one randomly selected children, ages 3 5 years, with potential language and behavioral difficulties into a control group or intervention group receiving adult support (Chao, Bryan, Burstein, Ergul, 2006). The purpose was to explore the impact parent involvement and routines have on the development of socially acceptable behavior and language in children (Chao et al., 2006). Parents were asked to rate various aspects of their child, such as motor skills and behavior, then decide activities in the Child Behavior and Language Assessment (CBLA) to focus on and review intermittently in a log to help conclude if the intervention was beneficial or not (Chao et al., 2006). The intervention was based on the reviews and opinions of the parents and occasional professional observation. CBLA is comprised of assessments of children s language and behavior, and routine based activities assisting the establishment of language and ideal behavior (Chao et al., 2006). The ... • 39. Forgiveness in Post-Genocide Rwanda As said in Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. After the genocide, which took the lives of countless loved ones, Rwandans re found their faith in order to forgive their wrongdoers. Moreover, many of the Rwandan s needed to forgive each other for their crimes in order to deal with the pain of losing their family members. Rwanda is a small country where the individuals depend upon each other for the basic needs in life. Once the genocide had ended, the government needed its citizens to cooperate with each other and forgive in order to restore peace to the country. For the Rwandans, forgiveness is a way to self heal, reconnect with God and to help the government become one again. In the African nation of Rwanda, two tribes started a genocide which took the lives of more than 800,000 people. The Hutus and the Tutsis were enemies for generations; however the everyday bickering and blank threats snowballed into a catastrophe. The genocide spread throughout the country with overwhelming speed and violence. Everyone, from average citizens to high standing priests, took part in murdering their neighbors and friends. After years of murders and torture, the Tutsis took control of Rwanda in July of 1994 and ended the genocide.
