2. GENRE
We plan on creating a teaser trailer based on the
genre supernatural horror.
This means that our film will revolve around
supernatural beings, specifically ghosts (antagonists)
which will target the main characters (protagonists)
in our film.
It will last for a maximum of two minutes like most
conventional teaser trailers.
3. FILM TITLE
‘Occupied’
We have decided to call our supernatural horror film
‘Occupied’ as it refers to the fact that there is a
ghostly being already occupying the house when the
family move in. This hints to the audience what the
narrative of the film might be.
4. PLOT
This is a brief outline of the plot for our supernatural horror:
A family; mum, dad and son, move into their new home, unbeknownst to
them that there is an evil force that already occupies it.
The son befriends this evil force and calls him ‘Jake’. Whilst his family
believe that he is just an innocent imaginary friend, it turns out that his true
identity is a lot more sinister.
As the son begins to talk more of this sinister ‘Jake’ character, blaming him
on the unusual happenings in the house, his family become more concerned
and tells their son to stop talking to him.
This conflict between the son, his parents, and this evil supernatural being
trying to control this child results in a huge climax which involves death,
destruction, and abduction - all caused by this invisible force.
5. TARGET AUDIENCE
Conventionally, most supernatural horrors target a young
adult audience; 16-25 year olds.
To achieve this we will research into supernatural horrors
which aim at teenagers/young adults and look into their
conventions that we could include into our trailer to attract
our target audience.
Our film would have a 15 certificate like many supernatural
horrors, as the themes throughout the film do not include
excessive violence, blood and gore, overtly sexual content
etc.
