Computer maintenance involves keeping a computer running properly by organizing files, uninstalling unused programs, updating antivirus software daily or weekly, and cleaning the keyboard, mouse, and printer. Without maintenance, a computer's hard disk will slow down, printers and monitors may malfunction, and the keyboard and mouse will be sluggish. A computer is also more likely to get viruses without up-to-date antivirus software or regular reloading, which can result in lost memory, files, folders, money, and time. Maintenance should be performed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis depending on the task.
