This document summarizes the results of a questionnaire about magazine preferences. It shows that most respondents were women aged 16-24. Music magazines were the most popular magazine type. The most appealing elements to include in a magazine were free MP3 downloads, top songs lists, and images of musicians. Based on the results, the author will create a punk music magazine with these elements, including free downloads and competitions in the cover lines to attract readers.

These results denote that the most popular thing to be included in a
magazine was the chance to get a free MP3 download so for this reason I
will be including that in my magazine and in my cover lines to attract an
audience. The top 100 tunes of 2013 was also a popular article so will me
included in my magazine and cover lines on the front cover.
7. What sell line would make you buy a
magazine?
• The most popular responses to this question
were sell lines which offered a form of free
promotion or prize for example “WIN Free VIP
Tickets to see 5SOS!” and “Free Tracks Inside!”
therefore I will use similar promotions in the
sell lines on my front cover in order to attract
an audience and encourage them to buy the
magazine.

that an image in the

12. Conclusion
• The results I obtained in my survey have informed
me on what to include in my music magazine in
order to target and capture an audience. I can
now understand what kind of images, layout, and
house styles people find attractive and therefore
repeat and exploit some of these features to
effectively attract an audience. Furthermore I am
now able to understand what cover lines and
language are appealing and effective in catching
an audiences attention and therefore will be
using the most popular results in my magazine.
