2. Audience Feedback
• For this presentation I am going to individually
analysis the audiences responses from my
music magazine questionnaire. This part of my
researching stage is very important as my
music magazine needs to appeal to the
readers and so their feedback will shape the
design and content in which my magazine will
feature.
3. Which gender are you?
This question was met with a popular feminine response which
suggests the magazine will be bought by mostly women. The
questionnaire was filled out by one male character which helps to
give an insight into how men would like the magazine to look and
what content they would be interested in. Due to the high numbers
of female readers I will ensure the magazine is appealing to female
readers.
4. To which age group do you belong to?
As expected the most popular age group was 16-20. From this
questionnaire I have gained the knowledge of my target audience
which helps to answer more questions that I would have when
designing my music magazine. The age group of my target audience
is young so therefore the musicians and artists should be related to
the genre of music they listen to - further research is needed.
5. How much would you be willing to pay for
a music magazine?
This question was answered positively - I wanted to ensure all prices of
choice were inexpensive as many people would not want to pay for
a music magazine. The most requested price was £2.50 which was
the lowest price choice on the questionnaire. I will use this price of
my music magazine as it was the most popular and so the audience
find it the most appropriate price for the magazine.
6. Have you ever bought a music
magazine before?
From this question I gathered that 10 of 16 of my target audience had
never previously bought a music magazine - while the following six
had. This has convinced me to follow the popular conventions of a
music magazine which will help create the music magazine vibe for
the audience.
7. What music genre do you prefer?
For this question I used lots
of choices for the
audience as I wanted to
gain a lot of knowledge
about the interests of
my target audience. The
most popular choice for
this question was the
pop genre - hip hop was
the second highest
choice. I will include
both genres as they are
very similar with the
same audiences and so
therefore including
more than one genre
will increase the number
of readers.
8. Would you prefer to see a solo artist or
band on the front cover?
The front cover of my
music magazine is very
important as this is
what will first attract
readers - therefore the
main image must
appeal to my target
audience and so this
question is useful. Solo
artist and undiscovered
artists were the most
popular and so I will
include these types of
artists on the main
image.
9. Would you like enticements to be
included in the magazine?
75% of the audience answered yes to this question - I felt it be important to
ask this question in my questionnaire because common and most popular
music magazines have enticements included to attracted the reader to
buy the magazine. I will be including a free enticement in my magazine as
it will attract my target audience.
10. What is your occupation?
This question is one of the most
important questions which I
asked in my questionnaire.
This question will allow me
to draw up a reader profile
which will allow me to tailor
my music magazine for the
readers of my magazine. 81%
of my target audience are
students so therefore this
means the price should be
inexpensive and the
magazine should appeal to a
youthful audience. This
question also determines
what kind of enticements
and competitions
