1. I have chosen to use this image as my main image for
many reasons. First of all, the model is giving the
reader direct address which addresses the reader and
draws them in by making eye contact. There is a clear
focus on the person with more of a blur in the
background so it makes the model stand out. I have
left space at the sides to make room for my
coverlines and I have left space across the top for my
masthead to fit in. I am happy with this image
because it is what I expected it to be like and it is
similar to how I drew it on my draft.
2. For this image, I will be
cropping out the two models
on each side and just keeping
the model in the middle (Mia)
in the shot. This is because
the two other models are
featuring in other
photographs and stories that I
have taken. I will edit it on
photo shop to make sure
there is only one model. I
think this is an appropriate
image for my contents page
because the model is doing some work and her facial expression looks quite happily so this
gives off a positive and happy vibe to the reader. I have included some mise-en-scene in
the shot such as a folder, a pencil case and a pencil. These are all pieces of basic school
equipment so the target audience is familiar with it. This shows a representation of a
student working hard but looking happy and positive at the same time.
3. I feel that this image will really
appeal to the target audience
because the bright colours and
images in the background will
really stand out. This was taken
in the Art and Design building
and I feel that this was a really
good location to choose
because the colours will be eye
catching and therefore will
attract the audience. The mise-
en-scene included in this shot is
a folder and an abstract
background. I have taken this picture with the intention of making the model stand out and
appear to be different from the rest of the picture. I have successfully done this by placing a
model who is in simple and plain clothing against a background and also with a folder that are
both very complex to look at, this makes he stand out. This also intrigues the reader even
more as usually, a model with simple plain clothing would blend into the background or
crowd, whereas in this case the model stands out, because of the context that they have
been put in. Furthermore this represents what it is like to be an art student at the college, as
art is mainly revolved around being different and standing out, as the model does in this
picture.
4. This image was taken in the Media
room K307. I will be using this as
one of the images featuring on my
contents page because it shows a
student sitting at a computer on the
Solihull Sixth Form College website.
This appeals to the target audience
because they attend the same
college too and are familiar with the
website and the colours (purple and
green) associated with it. The model
is giving direct address and the
expression on her face is very happy she looks like she's enjoying being there. Therefore this
represents a student who enjoys studying at this college.
