Evaluation of images
1. I took this picture as its relevant to my genre of magazine. As my magazine is aimed
at students, it is appealing to have the school grounds featured ,as it shows the
building that the sixth former students study in, which is why I chose it for my
magazine. Additionally it may encourage new comers to the school as it looks
bright, clean and well kept.
2. For this image I cropped the shot to make a medium
close up of the student, i did this to show her
concentrating on work and to make her the main focus
of the image as she is the most colourful.
3. I took this shot as i wanted to show the sixth form students in their environment
,working yet looking happy. I chose this picture to use on my front cover as i want to
appeal to my target audience, which could be potential new students therefore by
using an image where the students are smiling and look approachable it may
encourage them to join. Furthermore the use of technology in this image helps target
the younger aged target audience and shows that the school is well equipped.
4. I did not use this image on my front cover for my magazine, as the students in
the magazine do not seem as approachable as their back is to the camera.
Therefore if this image was featured on the front of my magazine it would not
look personal to my target audience, as there is no eye contact to the camera. In
addition to this the school looks dull due to the shot not having any vibrant
colours from clothing or the walls.
5. I took this shot as i wanted to capture a student using technology, to
appeal to the young audience, who would be the students. However i
did not use this shot as the student is not facing the camera therefore
not making eye contact which makes it less personal to the audience.
