3. My intentions were:
• To include an interesting background
• To highlight the themes
• To show off the model’s outfit
I feel the final image fulfils these intentions as the background is interesting and detailed, the
themes are demonstrated as the model is outdoors and wearing appropriate clothing and also I
used a slight high angle in order to include the model’s outfit.
The image is appropriate as it uses a teenage model meaning that it id relevant to the target
audience and also appealing to them. The theme of my fashion spreads is the outdoors and what
clothes to wear while exploring the out doors, this is shown through the use of a mid shot, showing
the model’s surroundings slightly.
The meaning created is that young people should not be discouraged to explore, this is done
through the use of regular clothing showing that you don’t need specialist equipment to do it.

5. I feel the combination of text and image works well as it is all legible and stands out well, this is
important for a fashion spread as the text describes the clothing used and where to find it, which is
the purpose of a fashion spread.
The meaning behind this image is that there will always be something better, this meaning is
created by the fact the background to the image is quite impressive yet the model choses to take a
picture of something else, suggesting to the audience that what is not shown is even more
impressive.
This image is appropriate for the target audience as most young people are mildly interested in
photography and photography is something that is feature in this fashion spread, therefore it
appeals to the target audience. There is also a lot of focus on the outfit which also appeals to the
target audience as people who read fashion spreads probably are interested in clothes/fashion.
This image fulfils my intentions as the text is relevant to the image and is clear as well as legible. The
text also highlights the themes as do the smart filters that have been applied as they exaggerate the
colours of the plants making the outdoor theme more noticeable.

The image fulfils my intentions as the model’s clothes are clearly visible and the themes are
represented well due to the setting of the photograph.
The image is appropriate for a fashion spread as it has a high focus on the clothes the model is
wearing, I purposefully picked a location where the clothes would stand out clearly. The outdoor
theme is represented by the background that has been used.
The image creates the meaning that nature is endless, this meaning is created due to the way that
the path in the background seems to go on for a long time.

9. The combination of the text and image works well as there is a clear space to fit the text in so the
text appears bold and clear. I think the choice to use red text was a good one as it stands out from
the rest of the colours featured in the photograph.
The meaning created by the finished image is that nature is very varied and also that humans have
had a very large effect on it, this is suggested the variations in colour featured in the photograph
and also the fact that the pavement, which is man made, is surrounded by nature.
This image is appropriate as the model and outfit is the centre piece of it all, making the clothes
stand out even more, this is also done through the use of smart filters, used in order to bring the
colour out in the cloths, making them stand out more. This is appropriate for the target audience as
chances are a reader is interested in fashion and therefore want the fashion spread to focus on the
clothes.

image also fulfils my intentions as the background is very prominent making the outdoor theme
more noticeable.

• To make sure the bike is visible
• To ensure that the outdoor theme is represented and the clothes are prominent
The final image fulfils my intentions as the bike is visible, allowing the audience to understand the
outdoor theme, it also makes the clothes a prominent part of the image as the photo makes use of
medium longshot so the outfit can be shown off well enough.
The image is appropriate for a teen magazine as it features a teenage model meaning that the
teenage audience will feel more connected to the model than if an adult model was used. It is also
appropriate as the clothes are prominent meaning that there is focus on them, this is very
important to a fashion spread.
The meaning that is created by this image is that we are forever surrounded by nature. This
message is created by the setting of the image, the model is surrounded by trees in order to get this
message across to the audience.

13. The combination of image and text works as the text is positioned in the top right where there is a
lot of light, meaning that the text can be made out very easily. The text is also red, fitting in with the
colour of the poncho, creating a sort of colour scheme for this fashion spread. The font is also rather
simplistic in order to not distract the audience from the outfit of the model or the theme shown in
the image.
The meaning created in the cover image is similar to the previous slide, we are surrounded by
nature and also that we have the tools to explore it, this message is created with the use of the bike
prop.
This is appropriate for the target audience as this fashion spread focuses on the outfit more than
the others meaning that they would be satisfied. This fashion spread is also appropriate for the
audience as it features a relevant prop that they would find interesting.
This fulfils my intentions as it the bike remained prominent through out the editing process,
meaning that the theme stayed relevant and noticeable. The outdoor theme also was fulfilled by
the use of smart filters as they made the colours of the background pop out more, making it mor4e
noticeable, thus displaying the theme more.

• To display the background in detail
• To convey the out door theme
• To make the model look appealing
The image fulfils my intentions as the background can be seen very clearly as it is in good focus and
the image has high key natural lighting so the background is made even easier to make out. The
outdoor theme is conveyed through the use of the bike prop and the woodland setting, this is
important because with out these things the theme would not be made out. The model is made to
look appealing/powerful through the use of a low angle shot.
The image is appropriate for a teen magazine as it features a teenage model meaning that the
teenage audience will feel more connected to the model than if an adult model was used. The
image is appropriate for an outdoor theme as it features lots of trees and also a bike as a prop, both
of which are things associated with the outdoors

and jeans have their colour exaggerated by the use of smart filters, making the clothes more prominent,
this is appropriate for the target audience they will be interested in fashion.
This image fulfils my intentions as the background is made even more prominent, which allows the
outdoor theme to be more easily recognised. As well as this the model looks appealing also due to the
use of smart filters, as his skin tone and hair colour isn’t captured properly by the default pictures.
