2. 1. CHEMICAL HAZARD- is any substance that
can cause harm, primarily to people. Ex.
Dust, Gas, Vapors etc.
2. PHYSICAL HAZARD- is a type of
occupational hazards that can be cause
harm or without contact ex. Noise,
Vibrations.
3. 3. BIOLOGICAL HAZARD- also known as
biohazards, refers to biological substances
that pose a threat to the health of living
organisms. Ex. Bacteria, viruses, insects,
plants, birds and human.
3. 4. PHYCHO- SOCIAL HAZARD- is any hazard
that affects the mental well being or mental
health of the worker by overwhelming
individual coping mechanisms and impacting
the workers ability to work in a healthy and
safe manner. Ex. Stress, violence at work,
substance misuse.
5. ERGONOMIC HAZARD- is a physical factor
within the environment that harms the
musculoskeletal system. Ex. Repetitive
movement, manual handling, poor body
position and uncomfortable workstation.
