supported the Rep party. The origins of the word is uncertain but the term came from Scalway, a
district in Sheton Island, where small cattle lived. Used in US before the Civil war to mean scrawny

The two indices under study are the S&P Nifty and Sensex. This study conducts a statistical
analysis of the daily and monthly data for both Nifty and Sensex for the period April 1, 2001 to
December 31, 2012. The study found that the Day of the Week Effect and Monthly Effect Pattern
did not appear to exist in the Indian Stock Market during the study period.

Since the Army's professionalization, there have been ebbs and flows in the degree to which the
Army has manifested the nature and motivations of a profession rather than its other organizational
character of government occupation – highly professional in periods of expansion and later phases
of war and less so in periods of contraction after wars, e.g. post–WWII into Korea and post–

successfully attacked Netscape's business model by bundling Internet Explore on Windows for free.

BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY DURABILITY–Blockchain technology operates on a
decentralized network of computers as opposed to a central server or network of servers. Without a
central point of failure, distributed ledgers are significantly more durable than today's centralized
methods and better able to withstand anything from malicious network attacks to power outages.
Depending on the consensus method employed by a specific blockchain, a successful attack would
require the attacker to either control more than 50% of the computing power in the network (proof–
of–work consensus method), or to own substantially more than half of the assets/tokens on the
ledger (proof–of–stake consensus method). Neither of these is economically sound. For example, in
a proof–of–work method, for an attacker to control over half the computing power on a well–scaled
blockchain today would require vast computing resources–the key here is that the cost of infiltrating
the network increases faster than the incentive to do so (verify this, it's possible that they actually
increase in a parallel fashion). For blockchains that rely on the proof–of–stake consensus method,
anyone owning more than half the assets on the network wouldn't be incentivized to compromise its

Preparing exit strategies now, not only for fiscal stimulus, but also for government support for the
financial sector and hard–hit industries, will enhance the effectiveness of these measures in the short
term, as this depends upon clarity regarding the pace with which such measures will be withdrawn.
Since financial markets, businesses and consumers are forward–looking, expectations are factored
into decision making today. The precise timing of exit strategies will depend on the strength of the
recovery, the exposure of Member States to the crisis and prevailing internal and external
imbalances. Part of the fiscal stimulus stemming from the EERP will taper off in 2011, but needs to
be followed up by sizeable fiscal consolidation in following years to reverse the unsustainable debt
build–up. In the financial sector, government guarantees and holdings in financial institutions will
need to be gradually unwound as the private sector gains strength, while carefully balancing
financial stability with competitiveness considerations. Close coordination will be important.
'Vertical' coordination between the various strands of economic policy (fiscal, structural, financial)
will ensure that the withdrawal of government measures is properly sequenced –– an important
consideration as turning points may differ across policy areas.

More recent incarnations of growth theory, following Romer (1986) and Lucas (1988), endogenize
steady–state growth and technical progress, but their explanation for income differences is similar to
that of the older theories. For instance, in the model of Romer (1990), a country may be more
prosperous than another if it allocates more resources to innovation, but what determines this is
essentially preferences and properties of the technology for creating 'ideas'.1 Though this theoretical
tradition is still vibrant in economics and has provided many insights about the mechanics of
economic growth, it has for a long time seemed unable to provide a fundamental explanation for
economic growth. As North and Thomas (1973, p. 2) put it: "the factors we have listed (innovation,
economies of scale, education, capital accumulation etc.) are not causes of growth; they are growth"
(italics in original). Factor accumulation and innovation are only proximate causes of growth. In
North and Thomas's view, the fundamental explanation of comparative growth is differences in

For me this question shows the real reason for faillure. Most projects focus on producing a rocket
(only focus on delivery). Successful projects however look further: why do we create a rocket?
Because we want to go to the moon. If NASA would have only focussed on delivering rockets, they
would never have reached the moon and probably had produced a great number of disasters while
delivering or using those rockets. A Business Case focus, rather than only a delivery focus!
(By the way & off topic: this delivery approach for me also caused the current financial crisis. Only
focussing on the deal, not on the long term effects.)
All reasons summed up in the question above are in my view symptoms and results of the delivery–
only approach rather than reasons.

I would say #7. Scope Creep/Unrealistic Expectations. All the others reasons are certainly strong
source for failure but somehow most of them point to have a bad road map document.
This is why a Project Manager is so useful in any organization to make sure that we get the right

"realistic" project expectations.

The film version contained two mothers', actually; the birth mother who dies giving birth to him that
we later find out was named Caroline, her maiden name being Murphy. We catch a brief glimpse of
her just after the birth when she makes the father promise that Benjamin would have a place in his
life. Of course he is upset and he looks at what may be a monstrosity for a son, blaming the child for
her death and dumps Benjamin on the stairs at the old folk's home where an African–American
woman, named Queenie, becomes his surrogate mother. Here is a loving and nurturing individual
that raises him in the film where there is no loving or nurturing female in the literary story. Now in
the literary story Benjamin has a grandfather who at the start was antagonized, became to enjoy his
grandson's company. It is a brief account of his grandfather but a meaningful one as this was the first
one who gave him a sense of acceptance. The film version gave him acceptance through Queenie
and we never get to know a grandfather; though one could say the patrons at the old folk's home
could have been grandparent surrogates for Benjamin. The patrons at the old folks home taught him
many things but his experience living there taught him not to fear death and what loss was about

For four solid decades after the war, this rate increased at an astounding rate. Early in the 1990s,
however, this rate leveled off. This brought about much speculation as to whether or not women
were thus starting to leave the labor force and, if so, what the causes of that might be. In order to
look at this hypothesis more closely, we first need to break down the women in the labor force by
age: 16–24 year olds, 25–34 year olds, 35–44 year olds, 45–54 year olds, and 55+ years. In the mid
1940's, 35–44 year olds were engaged in the labor force more than any other age group. In the late
1980s and into the early 1990s, this was still the case. Over the last 25 years, however, the younger
age groups have exploded onto the work scene, drastically shooting up from a percentage (of
women that age in the labor force) of 40 percent in 1970 to nearly 75 percent in the early 1990s.
Until the 1970's, a graph of female participation rates in the labor force would look like an "M",
with a large dip coming between the early 20's until the later–child bearing years, the mid 30's.
However, with all age groups now actively participating in the labor force, that graph now looks like
an upside down "U".
In the early 1990s participation rates of women abruptly flattened out. Initially much thought was
given to the fact that more mothers were exiting the labor force temporarily in order to look after

in IBM SPSS Statistics. Unlike most other books, we do not discuss theory or SPSS, but link the

a great deal to contribute to his desires and ambitions through her constant emphasis on pomp and
property. Pip is generally good–natured and thoughtful, and very imaginative. His false values,

the same human compassion for Magwitch that he did the first time he saw him out on the marshes.

In January 1998, the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) proposed implementing
regulations for Stark II. At this time the statute was interpreted conservatively so as to produce a
broad prohibition and narrow exceptions. As a result of the proposed regulations, HCFA received
nearly 13,000 public comments stating the statue was too conservative; unclear and intruded into the
physician's office practice. Therefore the implementation process was split into two phases to
provide guidance. Phase I addresses the general prohibitions, the definitions of the various
designated health services and the major exceptions. Phase II will address the preamble or
regulations of physician recruitment.

The basic physician self–referral prohibition as established in Section 1877(a) of the Social Security
Act is: A physician cannot refer patients to an entity for the furnishing of designated health services
if there is a financial relationship between the referring physician or an immediate family member of
the referring physician and the entity unless the financial relationship fits within one of the specific
exceptions in the statute or regulations. This applies to physicians who refer Medicare and Medicaid

and managers diverge. In those circumstances, and for a variety of reasons, managers may be able to
exact higher rents than are reasonable or than the owners of the firm would otherwise accord them.

The Fundamental Agency Problem and Its Mitigation 3 Early on, three principal approaches were
developed to minimize the agency problem. One, the "independence" approach, suggested that
boards of directors, comprised to be independent of management, can monitor managers and assure
that their interests do not diverge substantially from those of owners (Fama, 1980; Fama & Jensen,
1983a, 1983b; Jensen & Meckling, 1976; Mizruchi, 1983; see also Chandler, 1977). Another
method, the "equity" approach, proposed that managers with equity in the firm were more likely to
embrace the interests of other equity holders and, accordingly, to direct the firm in their joint
interests (Fama & Jensen, 1983b; Jensen & Meckling, 1976). Lastly, there was the notion of the
"market for corporate control," which set forth the principle that corporate markets may operate to
discipline managers who inappropriately leverage their agency advantage. In such cases, self–
serving executives may subject the firm to acquisition by other firms (Fama & Jensen, 1983a;
Jensen & Ruback, 1983; Manne, 1965). While these three corporate governance approaches are
rational in principle, the efficacy of these approaches in practice remains subject to debate.

future has been the job of educators for centuries, but with a greater immigration movement and
presence, an educator 's' ability is limited and the fate of such children are left to suffer. Pulling from
America's position as a "melting pot" of different cultures and people, students should not be
subjugated to poverty and educational ignorance just because of their status as an "illegal
immigrant," a distinction made by the choices of their parents and the situations of their past. Illegal
immigration is not by choice to intrude upon another nation, but to secure the individual's rights to
better their own life. Through distance and set conditions, immigrants cannot always obtain the
documentation necessary to cross borders in a timely manner, causing many to cross the border into
a new life without being "legal." Upon arriving, the next step is education, preparing to try to fit in
with the rest of the society and gain a stepping stone into success, thus the shift of acceptance in
education during the Plyler vs. Doe Supreme Court case was fundamental to attain change and
support for illegal immigrant families.
