2. Harper
For the first scene as Harper is
just at home in her room in the
evening therefore her costume
will be relaxed and just
something comfy, therefore I
will get my actor to wear a
plain white t-shirt and leggings
as this is realistic to what the
age of the character would wear
when just at home
3. Harper
From scene 2 until scene 6 Harper is
wearing this. I have chosen this as
the t-shirt suggests she say be
slightly geeky side to her character
which adds to the socially awkward
elements. I chose blue jeans over
black as this give more light to the
outfit with the dark top and shirt.
The outfit is very casual as well as
Harper doesn’t really like to dress
up and dresses for comfort more than
the latest fashions, she is also only
around her 2 friends in these scenes
therefore feeling comfortable around
them and not needing to feel like she
has to impress anyone.
4. Harper
For Harpers party outfit she will
wear these black jeans as the
darkness contrasts from her earlier
lighter coloured jeans and reflects
the night time setting, the gold and
black top is different for something
Harper would wear, this is because it
is given to her by her friends as she
is clueless on what to wear to a
house party having never gone to one
before. Because the top is glittery
it will stand out with the lights on
it and in a dark setting it will
catch the eye of the audience showing
that she is the main character and
that her going to the party is a big
moment for her personal development.
5. Grace
For scene 2 – 5 this is what Grace will be wearing,
I wanted by actors to be dressed naturally how they
would therefore costumes were easy to find. Grace’s
outfit goes with her more popular and fun
personality as the top has multi coloured stripes
reflecting this however she is wearing similar jeans
to Harper, this would link them together as friends.
For scene 6 all the girls are just lounging
around in their comfy clothes as I felt this
was accurate to teenage friends and shows how
close they are with each other as they don’t
care about their appearances in this scene.
Because of this Grace is wearing some comfy
shorts and a hoodie and fluffy socks.
6. Grace
For the house party scene Grace will be wearing
this as the darker clothing reflects the more
adventurous side to her going to the party,
something that Harper would never dream of
doing, it also isn’t too dressed up as if she
is trying to impress anyone at the party as
this would reflect her cooler effortless nature
when it comes to social events.
7. Ella
For the first scene Ella will
be wearing this, the actors
will all be dressed in their
natural day to day outfits to
reflect the normality of them
being everyday teenagers in
the film, the brighter colours
reflect the summer setting of
the film.
For the scene where Ella tells
Harper and Grace about the party,
for this scene all of the girls are
in comfy clothing however this
outfit does show her personality
with the cartoon top and bright
patterned trousers as it shows she
has a louder more out going
personality than Harper.
8. Ella
For the party scene Ella will be wearing
this, I like this outfit for her
character as the jeans show that she is
being casual and doesn’t really care for
dressing up too much however the
holographic sheer top gives her more edge
as it is vibrant and sparkles and is also
see through so still does show that she
is confident around people and although
she doesn’t really try too hard she does
still like to look good and be
impressive.
9. Props
red cups will be used for
the house party scene, they
are often seen in films with
house parties scenes and
also resolve any issues with
using bottles with branding
on
Harpers phone will be
seen through out the film
as she is always talking
photos on it to be up in
the scrapbook as they we
scene printed out in the
last scene
The first time we see Harper her
bed is covered in books and
folders, this will tell the
audience already that she is
very studious and helps develop
the idea that she has always
been the type of person to
always have her work done ect.
A scrapbook will be
used as it is a key
element to the
narrative of the film,
it will appear empty in
the first scene and
feature in the last as
Harper is filling it
with the photos she is
seen to take throughout
the film.
