Digital Pack and Advert Analysis - Lady Gaga The Fame Monster
1.
2. The images used in this album advert are 2 different images of Lady Gaga. The
colour scheme is black, white and grey for the album The Fame Monster. The top
image of Gaga is of her wearing a edgy blonde wig which is eye catching and
bold. She is wearing a plastic black coat and has the collar over her mouth. This
could represent her hiding her insecurities which will be reveled on the album.
The second image is of Gaga with her eyes closed moving her flowing brown hair
away from her face. There is also a dead bird in her hair; This is not unusual for
Lady Gaga as she is very eccentric and likes to shock people in what she is
wearing.
The font used on the advert is the same which is used on the album. ‘ LADY GAGA
THE FAME MONSTER’ which is positioned below center in bold white font that
stands out on the gray background. The writing is in a large font which makes it
easy for the audience to read.
The relationship between the font and images works well together because there
is a clear colour scheme which is black white and grey. Although these are seem
as dull colours the advert is still eye catching.
Lady Gaga is a iconic pop star and is known for her quirky and over the top style.
She is never underestimated when it comes to clothing and likes to shock people.
This advert doesn’t scream that her genre is pop, the images in the album advert
are striking and unique because you wouldn’t see your typical pop artist wearing
a dead black bird in their hair.
3. The advert is trying to sell a 2 disk Lady Gaga special. It’s the album Fame but
with a bonus 8 tracks. The album also features Beyonce and her name is in big
white font next to the track Telephone which she sung with Gaga. This was put
on the advert to attract a wider audience and for Beyonce fans to buy the album.
The advert and digital pack images makes reference to the music inside. Most of
the songs from the Fame Monster album are dance songs but Gaga is being clever
by hiding her tongue and cheek and honest lyrics behind the upbeat songs.
Having two images on the advert can represent two different personalities
within lady gaga this comes across in her music.
The target audiences for Lady Gaga are for teens, homosexuals and women aged
20+. The advert and digital pack are mainstream because the black and white
theme has been used by many pop artists before. This advert and digital pack
will be helpful when it comes to making one for our group because the basic
colour scheme and striking images can easily be created by students and used for
our digital pack.
