2. FILM LOGO
• For my logo, I used an online tutorial which
showed me how to make the text look like a
gold coin. I felt this would fit with the film well,
as it stands out and will go with the color
scheme I have planned to use.
• Unlike the tutorial, I used a different font, as I
had planned to use (Felix Titling) as I feel this
gives the logo a smart but suggestive look to it,
to make the audience want to know more
about the film, and its title. By using this font, I
feel the contrast it has with the title of the film
portrays the adventure and mystery of the film
well to its audience.
3. STUDIO LOGO
• The first thing I created was my logo for the production studio that goes with the production
of my film.
• I made this using photoshop and following an online tutorial which showed me how to
create the style of logo I desired to create. I downloaded two fonts to fit with the logo,
which were ‘Krinkles Decor’ and ’Krinkles Regular’. For the larger writing I used regular
and for the smaller text I used décor, as I felt the main text would stand out better if it were
simplistic and easy for an audience to understand and remember.
• To create the galaxy effect, I used two different galaxy design layers, and blended them
together to create the logo exactly how I wanted it to look- bright and bold so that it will
stand out to the audience
4. FILM POSTER
• I used photoshop express to create my film poster, I did
this by creating a gradient, then blending that into my
forest photo, I then made another layer, combining all the
ferrets together so they would be on the poster. After I
had positioned them how I wanted them to be, I added it
to the forest and gradient, and began to fade them
together, I felt the way I positioned them all fits with the
theme of the film, as all the characters are visible to the
audience but not immediately obvious.
• I then positioned the film logo, tagline and “In Cinemas…”
which I had previously made in photoshop. I decided that
the logo needs to be the center of attention, so its
audience would remember and be able to recognize the
film easily.
5. BILLBOARD COVERS
• I used photoshop express to create my billboard
covers. I used the gradients, “In Cinemas…” text and
the logos that I had made on photoshop to build up
the base of the billboards. I decided I wanted them to
have different color schemes they are representing 2
different parts of the film, the male and female
characters. I made the layout for each billboard cover
and then started to cut the ferrets out of the pictures
I had of them, and placed them onto each billboard
cover, positioning them all where I felt looked
aesthetically pleasing and appealing to the audience
6. MAGAZINE COVER
• I used photoshop express to create my magazine cover. I started off
by creating a black border for the outside of the cover, as I felt it
would make the images stand out better. I then created the text for
my tagline, headline and date, using presets on photoshop express,
and adapting them to suit the design of my magazine.
• I then used the images of the ferrets that I had previously used for
my poster and blended them in with a gradient that I had previously
created on photoshop, to make the magazine look aesthetically
pleasing to its audience, as well as emphasizing the characters of
the film.
• I then added on the masthead which I created in photoshop and
positioned it according to my design and where I felt looked
aesthetically pleasing. once I had done this, I added a barcode to
the corner of the magazine cover, fitting it around the headline in
order to make it fit in with the rest of the magazine.
7. CHARACTER DESIGN
• I used photoshop to create my game characters. As in real life, all three boys are from
the same litter and have a similar figure as each other, this made them easy to design
as once I had created one, I copied the design and changed them according to each
ferrets’ color and figure.
• I designed them using existing photos of them so that I could try and make them look
as accurate as possible. As the Bill and Ted are twins, it was important to make it easy
for them to look slightly different so the audience could tell which character is which, I
did this by clearly showing the difference in figure and nose.
• Once I had drawn each character, I resized them so that they would not go blurry
when I had put them onto each setting for animation.
8. MENU SCREEN
• I used photoshop to create each part of my menu screen. I started off by creating the
background using different colors to create a bold and multicolored background. I then created
the logo on a new page then transferred it onto the background. I did the same for the other
buttons for the menu screen and stuck to a similar font design that I had created for the title of
the game so it would all fit together.
• Once I had placed each part onto the background and had put them in the correct places, I
added the characters and began to animate the menu screen so that the ferrets walked across
the screen. I did this using photoshop and moving each character the smallest amount in
between shots.
• When I had animated my menu screen and was happy with the result, I exported it as a video,
then put it into premier rush, where I added the music, I had created for my menu screen. I cut
the music to fit with the animation of the ferrets, focusing on which part of the music fit best
with them walking across the menu screen.
9. CUT SCENE AND DEMO LEVEL
• I designed the backgrounds of my cut scene based on the overall theme of my project. I created
a pathway for my characters to walk across, with two different backgrounds as the cut scene
shows them travel to the rabbit kingdom. For my demo level I designed ferrets treats and
arrows which change color as the player moved the character and collects the treat. I decided to
use a more detailed version of my cut scene background for my demo level as this would take
place just after the cut scene.
• Once I had designed each background, I animated it the same way I animated my menu screen.
I moved each character tiny bits at at time and slowly made them move across the screen as if
they were travelling to the kingdom like ferrets would travel together for my cut scene. Similarly
in my demo level, I moved the character slowly across the screen collecting treats as the player
controls the character.
• Once I had animated both scenes for my cut scene, I put them both together in premier rush,
where I added the music and sound effects to the video, so that it sounded more realistic as the
ferrets walked across the screen. In addition, on my demo level, every time the character collects
a treat, the game makes a ‘ding’ sound which I accurately placed along with the music on my
demo level.
10. SOUND DESIGN
• When designing my sound, I used GarageBand which I found easy to use, as I could
experiment with different instruments and sounds to create my own music.
• I decided to make my tracks quite different to each other, as I wanted to show off a
range of music throughout my game and have the style determine the mood of each
part of the game.
• I created different layers of music using different sounds and instruments and put
them together and cut each section to make It sound aesthetically pleasing and made
it to fit with the mood depending on which part of the game I was creating music for.
• I also recorded ferrets walking and a ‘ding’ sound for my demo level and cut scene
using voice record on my phone, which I then added onto my cut scene and demo
level where it was needed.
