A. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course begins with the basic scientific knowledge and understanding of the world from an
environmental perspective. Following that, this course introduces to different types of disasters
and measures involved in strengthening the capacity to reduce the impact of the disaster. The
course further provides an overview of the complexities associated with waste material and
various techniques for waste management.
B. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1. Students will gain a holistic understanding of environmental issues, including the causes and
consequences of environmental degradation, and explore potential remedial steps to address these
problems.
2. Students will be introduced to various types of disasters and learn how to analyze and respond to
them effectively. They will acquire the necessary skills to develop disaster preparedness plans and
implement remedial measures.
3. Students will examine the complexities of waste materials and their impact on the environment.
They will learn about waste segregation techniques and effective waste management strategies to
minimize environmental harm.
4. Students will critically analyze their roles as citizens, consumers, and environmental actors in a
complex and interconnected global context. They will explore the ethical dimensions of their
actions and responsibilities towards the environment.
5. Students will develop skills in creating awareness about environmental issues and engaging in
outreach activities. They will learn effective communication strategies to promote environmental
consciousness among different stakeholders in society.
