SANOFI AND BIONTECH ANNOUNCE CANCER IMMUNOTHERAPY COLLABORATION AND LICENSE AGREEMENT.
Paris, France and Mainz, Germany – November 3, 2015 – Sanofi and BioNTech A.G. announced their enetring into
a multiyear exclusive collaboration and license agreement. This research collaboration between Sanofi and BioNTech
will leverage the scientific expertise of the two organizations to discover and develop up to five cancer
immunotherapies, each consisting of a mixture of synthetic messenger RNAs (mRNAs).
Sanofi and BioNTech have agreed to $60 million in upfront and near-term milestone payments, payable to BioNTech
under the terms of the agreement. Further, BioNTech could receive over $300 million in development, regulatory and
commercial milestones and other payments per product. If commercialized successfully, BioNTech would also be eligible
for tiered royalties on net sales up to double digits. In addition, BioNTech has the option to co-develop and co-commer-
cialise two of the five mRNA therapeutic products with Sanofi in the European Union and the UnitedStates.
THE UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW SPIN-OFFS
?
● Warsaw Genomics spin-off is a company established by researchers
at the University of Warsaw and the Medical University of Warsaw
in order to provide genetic services.
● The company offers genetic tests which help determine
the overall risk of cancer by using the most up to date method
– next generation sequencing. The test allows to identify all known
genetic variations associated with present family forms of breast
and ovarian cancer. Simultaneously, a number of genes (e.g. 25
genes in the test on breast and ovarian cancer) can be examined.
● Warsaw Genomics is an interdisciplinary team including
medical doctors, molecular biologists, geneticists,
bioinformaticians and mathematicians.
● Knowing your genetic predisposition, you can take an action to
prevent cancer or lead to an early diagnosis of cancer.
WARSAW GENOMICS LTD
● Research and Development for Life Sciences (RDLS)
is a spin-off company founded by researchers from the
Faculty of Biology, University of warsaw.
● The company mission is to conduct dedicated research
and provide advanced analytical services in environmental
biotechnology. RDLS offers high quality consortia and
complete array of services: from biotechnological concept
to environmental monitoring and screening.
● Scope of services:
– Environmental monitoring (microbiological and
chemical recognition, controlling and screening)
– Toxic heavy metals removal
– Preservation from bio deterioration
– Examination of the input materials for biogas plants
– Molecular research in microorganism biodiversity
– Consulting & expertise sharing.
RDLS LTD
The company creates new
technologies on the needs of
environment and ecological
farming, which also includes
the remediation of polluted
water, soil, and waste.
They have developed a bioreme-
diation vaccine which removes
petroleum substances from fields
and lands lying near the oil
refineries, military proving
grounds and training areas or
railway sidings.
BACTrem LTD

researchers of the University of Warsaw and the Medical
University of Warsaw in order to provide access to
advanced diagnosis of parasitic infections in human
and animal organisms using the most recent
technologies.
● The company addresses its offer to both individuals
(adults, children and pet owners) as well as companies
whose employees are exposed to parasitic infections
such as veterinarians.
● Up to date this type of offer was not available in private
or public clinics (NZOZ).

● Spektrino is a spin-off company established
by an interdisciplinary nuclear magnetic
resonance spectroscopy (NMR) team
at the University of Warsaw.
● The company mission is to develop dedicated
methods for rapid recording and analysis of NMR
data as well as mobile applications for remote
monitoring of hardware status.
● The team also offers NMR spectroscopy-
-methodology consultations and creation
of advanced experimental protocols
based on the fast spectroscopy.
SPEKTRINO LTD
● The company has been founded by researchers from
the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics andMechanics.
● The company’s activity is focused on advanced data
processing acquired from e-services.
The data analysis can provide informations about:
– customers expectations
– strategy planning
– services personalization.
● The company develops the product of recommendation
and prediction which may be used in different aspects
of big data processing.
● The modern infrastructure allows for trivial
implementations of non-trivial solutions
concerning machine learning.
MIM Solutions lTD
The company deals with the
satellite crops monitoring.
It gives the ability to track the
history of selected individual
fields, predicts yields and
harvest time.
