Masthead: the masthead is being covered up by Jimi’s
head, this is because the rolling stones magazine is
already popular so it doesn’t need to show off its
masthead all the time as it is a well-known and
respectedmagazine so customers will already know
what it is due to the font style and design.
The main image captures Jimi’s lifestyle and
personal life perfectly. Jimi was known for his
wild and unique clothing while performing or
being seen in public. Jimi is also posing with
what appears to be a cigarette in his left hand,
while his other hand is holding his left elbow.
The cigarette may symbolise addiction and
how it ruined is life and eventually lead to his
death.
The covering lines are all in an old font
which relates to the era in which Jimi
performed his music. The left side of the
cover has “the greatest guitarist of all time”
which takes up a great deal of size on the
cover, this is to emphasise role in music
and how he changed it for the better.
The covering lines also show other stories
that are inside the magazine, each story
relates to the theme of the cover which is
old rock.
The main colour of the whole cover is a
blue. It is often associated with depth and
stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty,
wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith,
truth, and heaven and is considered
beneficial to the mind and body. This blue
is light which symbolises health, healing,
tranquillity, understanding, and softness.
All of these symbolisms best describe Jimi
Hendrix and his character throughout his
years of performing
