This document outlines a plan for a website and app that allows users to leave reviews of movies and games they have watched or played. It would have separate sections for movies and games. Reviews could be over 100 words explaining what is good and bad about each title. The product would be available online and as an app to reach a worldwide audience 24/7. Setting it up would require website and app development skills as well as designing promotional materials. Reviews must be factual and appropriate for different age ratings to avoid legal issues. Costs would involve printing promotional leaflets and flyers, while other aspects could be done for free using available software.
4. Logistics
Achievable
• This product can be achieved by creating a website/ blog where
people can leave their reviews of what they thought of a game or
movie that they have either played or watched. The game section
and film section will be separated from each other so you can clearly
navigate around the website and read what you want to read that is
pacific to your interests. The reviews could have over 100 words and
actually explaining the game or film being what is good about it and
what is bad. There could also be an app for this product which is
similar to the website where you can leave your reviews.
5. Location considerations
• The location of this product would be on the internet and on apps
because that way I can get customers from all over the world, which
is better than only having it set up in one country, having it online
allows anyone around the world to be able to use it.
6. Timeframe Considerations
• As my product would be online it will not have a timeframe it will be
able to be open 24/7 everyday of the week, because it does not
require anyone to work there. So that means customers and
audiences will not have to wait certain times to be able to use the
site or app instead they will be able to use it whenever they want to
use it.
7. Level of organisation required
• To organise this all I will need to create a website and set it all up and
make it easier to use and navigate around. The audience can leave
reviews of any game and film in the world so this way my
website/app will have lots of reviews that can be made. I would then
create the app for my product and do all the same tasks as I did
when creating the website. Once that is all done I will advertise on
leaflets and flyers.
8. Resources
Availability of equipment/space
• The equipment and resources needed would be a pc and software to
be able to create a website, I would also need software to make an
app. I would need leaflets also so I can be able to advertise, I can use
Photoshop and InDesign to create the flyer and poster. I can also use
Photoshop to create a banner for my website too.
9. Expertise within the production team
Personnel required
• I would require certain expertise in my production team and that
would be for creating a website, an app and also advertising on flyers
and leaflets. They would also need Photoshop and InDesign skills,
this will also be the same for the personnel that is required too.
10. The purpose
• The purpose of my product is to inform, educate and entertain
people it also helps people decide weather to play a game or watch a
film. My site will do this because I will leave reviews for people to
read. It can also educate too as it allows younger children to able to
read about a film and games so It will improve their reading skills. It
will also inform too so the audience can have a better idea of
whether to actually purchase the game, movie or not.
11. Legal, moral and ethical issues
Libellous, offensive, dangerous etc.
• On my website the reviews about games and films must not have
false knowledge and accusations. Also you can’t say that one game
or movie is better than another as the creators can find it offensive.
Plus the reviews featured on my site must be truthful so you can’t lie
as that would be libellous which is breaking the law.
• We would also need to have our advertisements to be truthful too,
on our leaflets we are not allowed to say that we are better than
other companies and the ASA, advertising standards authority would
make sure of this.
• In addition to this as my product covers reviews of games and films
this means I will have to clearly show the age rating of a game or
film. For example a 12 year old may read a review about a game
which is rated 12 while an 18 year old may read a review about a
game which is rated 18. To separate the two I must clearly show the
age rating which the BBFC, British board of film classification and
PEGI, Pan European game industry have already put on. BBFC
covering films and PEGI covering games.
12. Cost
• I will have to spend money on photocopying and printing for my
leaflets and flyers. I would not have to spend money on anything else
as I can create a website, use Photoshop, use InDesign and create an
app all for free.
