1. The title of my game/film idea is ‘Innocent Fangs’ which is an adventure story about a unique
woman who has abilities to survive and end a vampire apocalypse.
My film idea is aimed primarily towards a teenage audience form age 14 till 20. A story involving
action, psychological theme and fictional assets can widen a young person's imagination which is
why Innocent Fangs would be appealing towards a teenage audience. Any film of a vampire-based
genre is usually more appealing towards females however with the concept of apocalypse and
survival it can appeal to a male audience as well. The story probably appeals more towards a female
audience because the cover character and main character is a female called Lola. This will make my
female audience relate more to the main character and admire her as females usually do when
seeing a strong independent female with a lot of power.
Throughout the year I have gained and learnt a range of different skills and ideas in research,
planning and production. One example of something I learnt was the importance of format and
positioning in print products such as magazines and posters. Another example of something I learnt
is how to operate around adobe software like Photoshop to create products. I think doing the music
video is completely different to the project which is allowing me to understand that I can create a
variety of different media projects. One thing which did help me from creating my music video was
how to use Adobe Premier Pro. When creating the game animation in this project It allowed me to
be familiar to premier.
In my project I will create a magazine about the film of my story with a promotional advertisement
in the form of a poster. I will also create a pixel animated demo of my game including a cutscene and
a soundtrack to go with it. Throughout the products I will keep consistency which correlates
between them all as they are all based upon my vampire apocalypse story Innocent Fangs so that
somebody who has for example seen the poster or film will have a brief understanding of the plot of
the game. In preparation of making my project I will need to take aspiration from existing vampire
themed products. I will also need to do research on different pixel animations and games to base my
layout and design for my project so that when I am creating my pixel game, I have a layout
recognizable by my audience
Within my production I will need to consider specialist techniques in using software such as
photoshop, free online sound production like beep box and adobe premiere pro. Before creating my
poster and magazine cover in photoshop I practiced by making a poster on another topic of my liking
which helped me to learn the skills to make a presentable poster and magazine cover. Before making
my official soundtrack for my game I spent time making a soundtrack for a similar based game,
learning how to create good rhythm and use different components to create the sound audio. I’d
used adobe premiere pro in other projects like my music video which is how I learnt how to put
audio over a sequence of content. I also did a foley over a scene from a film which involved adding
sound effects over a silent video.
Throughout my production I have included reflective forms recording my progress in the project and
highlighting what went right and what went wrong. I will do an overall evaluation in my proforma
document explaining areas I succeeded in or struggled and highlighting where I can significantly
improve. This could also involve screenshots and images of my work
