Four Corners: Reform/Abolition
Directions: Please use this document to plan out your solution proposal with your
group. This document is ordered by strategic steps and roles that everyone must follow.
Also note the time stamps so that you are pacing yourselves.
Background: ALL MEMBERS (15 minutes)
● Provide brief context/overview of a ONE specific act of genocide or hate that we’ve
discussed in class (case studies)
● Identify the problem
○ Evidence to support why it’s a problem
○ Discuss why it’s important to advocate for/solve
Research: ALL MEMBERS (30 minutes)
● Divide the research articles below among yourselves. EVERYONE must do
research. Skim through the articles for evidence in the second column and then
provide quick and short notes about the article in the third column.
● Please put your name next to the article you researched. More than
one person can research the same article.

support for your solution
● Discuss people with power, position, and/or resources who would help your
cause, as well as people you would need to convince

would you achieve this?
● Consider at least 2 potential obstacles your action proposal may confront, and
theorize a plan to overcome them.

● Choose one of the other solutions (bias training/education, capital punishment
OR reparations) and provide context. Develop a statement that details why the
other solution you’ve chosen will not work. Identify its flaws.
