A Word from the Principal
Greetings Tech High Family:
We are now in the season of the Georgia High School
Graduation Test. This is not only important for your students, it
is important for us as a school. I spoke with parents last night
regarding our plan to prepare your students. The plan will be
sent home with your students today for you to review. You can
also look it up on the website.
We need everyone to prioritize this preparation so that we can
all succeed together. This is definitely a community effort and
we need all stakeholders to participate. Here is what you can do
to help:
1. Ask your children about their progress in school each
day. If GGT students, ask them about their progress on
Study Island.
2. Please go online to www.studyisland.com com or
www.usatestprep.com to review their progress. We
are looking for a 70% mastery on all areas.
3. Communicate with your children’ s teachers if you have
any questions and/or concerns. Please feel free to cc
me on emails.
4. Hold your children accountable for achievement.
5. Ensure students participate in after school enrichment
on Tuesdays and Thursday’s if they need it.
6. Remember failure is not an option.
The chocolate sale was successful. Our school raised
approximately $4,000. We get to keep ½ of that for student
resources. This is great. Please come by to pick up your
chocolate orders. The next fundraiser will be in the winter. We
will be selling cookie dough. It’s really good stuff.

Canned Food Drive
Student Government Association
Winter is a harsh season and it is especially so for the homeless
in the city. The SGA will be conducting a winter Canned Food
Drive from November 14 - December 17 with donations going to
the Hosea Feed the Hungry Foundation.
Goods Needed:
• Dry Pasta, Rice, Beans
• Large Can Vegetable- Yams, String Beans, Corn
• Seasoning: Salt, Pepper, Cinnamon, All Spice
Students can earn points toward their region for donations.
Scholarship Spotlight
Black Police Association Scholarship for Criminal Justice Majors
The National Black Police Association is seeking to enhance
higher education opportunities among qualified graduates.
Applicants must be Seniors in high school, must be U.S. citizens,
must have a teacher/principal recommendation, must submit
transcripts, and must be accepted into a college or University.
