2. This pose I like because it is
striking and would be ideal for a
female model on the front cover. I
would use Lily for this shot as her
eyes are bold and her long dark
hair would frame this shot well as
well as the hand position framing
the lower half of her face. This
shot is more of a medium close up
but in mine I would use a close up
with a black background with a
white spotlight to keep it subtle
and the focus on the model.
This is appropriate for my genre
and audience as it is a bold shot
and makes the artist pictured clear
and approachable. Lily’s style and
look would help portray the indie
genre also.
3. This pose is a long shot so it
would clearly show the
costume that the model is
wearing which represents the
indie rock genre. Also, this
could appeal to the audience
of my magazine if the model is
wearing a popular brand that
they like. I would use a white
light for this shot or if the
model is wearing a bold colour
I would use the colour light
which contrasts with it to
make it stand out. It is
appropriate for my genre as
the audience can relate to the
artist through their fashion.
4. This is a mid shot and the lighting is
the shot is not pinnacle as I think I
would like this shot in black and
white to make it more edgy. The
model looking away make the photo
more mysterious and intriguing and I
would like my magazine to be
represented like that through a shot
like this. Also, I like this use of the
prop being the camera. As this shot
is quite plain it would draw more
attention to the props so it would be
good to display my props in this
picture to help illustrate the indie
genre. It is suitable to the audience
as it intrigues then and is quite an
alluring shot so would entice them
into reading my magazine about the
artist pictured.
5. This medium close up would
clearly illustrate the genre
through the models hair and
makeup as it would be the
main focus of this shot.
However, I don’t know if I
would make this photo in
black or white or not as I
might have green lighting in
this shot as it can make the
photo mysterious therefore
making the audience curious.
As a result, it appeals to the
genre and my audience.
6. This long shot of a subtle
simple pose is very effective. I
would use a black background
for this to present the artist
and magazine as bold,
mysterious and strong as this
would interest the audience
and urge them to read my
magazine. The pose makes
the model’s outfit noticeable
and the peace sign is a pose
often used my teenage age
group that my magazine is
aimed at so my audience can
relate to the artist.
7. This group pose is a wide shot as it fit all 5 people in but in my
shot it will only have 3 or possibly 4 people in. I like this pose as
one person is looking directly into the camera presenting himself
as dominant whilst the others are facing mirrored angles which
make the composition of the photo really interesting.
8. This is an interesting
shot as it is a medium
close up of the first
person but the further
back it goes it
becomes more of a
mid shot. I will use a
black background for
this shot as it
highlights the model’s
facial expressions
more. This shot is
appropriate for my genre as it is a strong pose and interesting
facial expression and will represent the artist well. It also
suitable for my audience as the model’s will be looking directly
into the camera so it directly addresses the audience
personally.
9. Finally, this medium close up is good because it is a natural pose
so it make the artist more relatable to the audience. I would
use either green or white lighting for this shot and would maybe
have the model look directly at the camera to represent their
confidence. Therefore, the body language and the facial
expression contradict
each other as the body
language is quite shy,
modest and unassuming
but the facial
expression would
portray confidence.
Therefore, the model
will look mysterious and
would intrigue the
audience.
