The document outlines photography plans for a magazine spread. It includes details on 6 images - a medium shot of model Morgan for the front cover; a medium long shot of a band of 4 boys for the contents page; a medium close up of Morgan and close up of the band for the contents page; and a long shot of a girl duo and medium shot of Morgan with an amplifier for a double page spread. The shots, angles, costumes and locations are specified to appeal to audiences and showcase the featured musicians.
2. Plan:
Main front cover Image
• Model: Morgan
• Shot: Medium shot.
• Angle: Eye level
• Mise-en-scene: Appeal to male gaze
• Characters: One 17 year old girl
• Costume: Casual, everyday clothing
• Location:
• Props: none
3. Composition of Image 1
Medium shot of the front
image of model Morgan. I
have chose this as it is
simplistic, and is traditional
for a front cover of a
magazine. The image allows
the reader to connect with
the image, and then relate
to the individual on the
image.
The image will work with the
text and no draw attention
from them.
4. Contents page image 1
• Shot: Medium long shot
• Angle: High angle
• Mise-en-scene:
• Characters: 4 boys in a band
• Costume: Casual
• Location: Music room
• Props: Instruments
5. Composition of Contents Image 1-
This will be a smaller image
on the front cover. The
image will be a medium long
shot. And it will show 4 guys
in a band. The props they
use might be their
instruments.
This is a good image to use
as it shows the band in
action- with the
instruments- so that the
reader knows exactly what
they do. The image is
designed to draw the
readers eye to the magazine
as they will want to buy it to
read about the particular
band
6. Contents page image 2
• Shot: Medium close up of main cover image character
• Angle: Eye level
• Mise-en-scene: Appeal to male gaze
• Characters: One 17 year old girl
• Costume:
• Location:
• Props:
7. Composition of Contents Image 2-
This image will probably be a
close up of Morgan who was
also the main image on the
front cover. This image will
entice the reader to then
want to buy the magazine so
they can read the article.
The image will connect to
the audience as it is close to
they can connect with the
eye contact.
The outfit if you can see it,
will be either the same, or a
similar theme of that in the
front cover.
8. Contents page image 3
• Shot: Medium close up
• Angle: Eye level
• Mise-en-scene:
• Characters: 4 boys in a band
• Costume: Casual clothing
• Location: Music room
• Props:
9. Composition of Contents Image 3-
This image will be a more detailed
medium close up of the same band
on the contents page. This image
will allow the reader to get to
know the band more, and feel like
they can relate to them more. The
style of the image will be the
traditional famous style of other
boys bands in the past.
11. Composition of Image 5- contents image 3
This will be a smaller long shot
of a duo girl group. This image
will be added to the contents
page just so the reader knows
what else will feature in the
magazine, musician wise.
The image will be a extra, but
it will represent the genre of
the magazine, e.g they are
females and they will be
dressed in a mainstream way.
12. Double Page spread image
• Shot: Medium shot. / long shot
• Angle: Low level
• Mise-en-scene: Appeal to male gaze
• Characters: One 17 year old girl
• Costume: Fashionable
• Location:
• Props: amplifier
13. Composition of image 6- Double page spread
image 1
This image will be a medium
shot of Morgan. The image will
be another different type of
shot to show that she is the
main focus of my article, and I
am showing the different side
of her.
The image will connect with the
audience, and it will produce
the male gaze theory, and
females will admire the singer.
