2. Types of shots
Angles
1.Open with a Wide shot of the girls walking in the park
2.A mid shot of the girls as they walk to the house.
3.High angle as they are in the entryway of the house. Makes the girls look vulnerable and
small. Makes it seem as if they are being watched. The audience feels as if they are secretly
watching the girls trespass into the house.
4.Cutaway shot of hands. Shot inspired by babadook
5.An over the shoulder shot of Grace as she picks up the doll
6.Super close up shot of Ella’s eyes
7.High angle shot of Grace sitting on the floor. This make the character Grace look
vulnerable and scared
3. Specific lighting for shots
Lighting
Bright daylight for the opening scene. The girls are playing outside. This makes the scene seem normal and
realistic. It would not make sense to have 10 and 11 year old girls wonder in the park when it is dark. In the
trailer for It, there is normal daylight in the beginning scenes.
Under Lighting for the super close up scenes of Ella. makes the character seem more sinister
