HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR AUDIENCE?
2. WHAT MADE IT APPEALING?
• I think that there were many things when it came to our
broadcast that made it good and appealing to our target
audience. First of all I think that the jingle was really catchy
therefore it sticks in the audiences head so they will recognise
it when played again. The headlines we picked weren't
necessarily the best but they appealed to our target
audience because they can relate back to them. With Skint
being in the local area, everyone has heard about it therefore
they will be interested to know what we have to say on it. Also
with the vox-pops attached to the news story, they will want to
see what other people of similar ages had to say about it.
3. TARGET AUDIENCE AND HOW WE
ADDRESSED IT.
• For our main task, we created a radio broadcast with a
specific target audience of the ages 16-28. We chose this
because we believed we had the experiences of music and
what the majority of people listen to as we all fit into this age
gap. With this in mind, we aimed to create a radio broadcast
that would tick all of the boxes for a good broadcast. When it
came to addressing this across to our audience we tried to
get the genre of music correct therefore it would attract the
correct target audience we were hoping to get. I think that
the indie rock genre was successful because many people
are listening to it at the minute and it is a niche market that we
can attempt to fit into to make the broadcast work. The same
with the other stories.
4. DID THE AUDIENCE LISTEN TO THE
BROADCAST FOR FEEDBACK?
• In the end we got a few people to listen back to our radio
broadcast, this meant that we could get some consumer
feedback which would help us improve our radio broadcast,
possibly minor changes or major changes depending on what
feedback we get. However the feedback we got was
relatively good therefore we only made a couple of little
changes to make it fit with the audience. We added another
story at the start of the editing process, the story was more
suitable for the target audience in a way so it fit in better. We
cropped down some of the vox pop recordings so it made it
more snappy and easier to listen to instead of having 10
second recordings in a row we cropped them to all different
times which benefitted our broadcast as a whole.
