SOLVING EQUATIONS
Tuesday: Day 2
Analyze Learner
The 7th class is made up of 24 students. 20 of the students are Caucasians, 3 are African-
Americans, and 1 student is Asian American. There are 10 boys and 14 girls. These students have all
been placed in an advanced placement course.
State Objective
Today will be a flipped classroom lesson. The students will be assigned to watch the video
posted on the twitter link. The lesson will be solving equations for one variable. The students will come
to class and ask questions regarding the lesson while also solving practice problems. The students will
solve one variable equations with 100 percent accuracy by the end of the day.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials
The students will watch their at home assignment YouTube video that was give via link in
Twitter. They will also be solving homework problems in class.
Utilize Media and Materials
I will have assigned the video at the end of class Monday. I will make sure that every student
has internet access to watch the video. I will make sure every student follows the class Twitter page.
For the students that do not have internet access, I will have DVD disks to give to the students
preloaded with the lesson. I will write down the link for the video for the students who do not have

Require Learner Participation
Every student will be expected to watch the video at home. The students who watch the video
will have the opportunity to complete their assignment in class. The students who do not watch the
video will be required to watch it in class on Tuesday or have another classmate work with them. Those
students will be required to finish their assignment at home and return it the next day.
Evaluate and Revise
The students will be given a grade from the assignment given to them in class. If they were
prepared and watched the video at home, they will have plenty of time to complete the assignment in
class. Those who were not prepared must take assignment home and return on Wednesday or no grade
will be given.
