2. Importance
Globalization is important in education
because it teaches the students different ways
of life, different ways of thinking, and ideas
that they may have never heard before.
Globalization helps students learn new
concepts, cultures, and beliefs that will help
them to become diverse in these areas. It will
also help them to be more accepting of others
and more open to changes and ideas later in
life.
3. How It Applies to 21st Century
Education
Globalization can be used to education
students by:
• Teaching how to be “Global Citizens”
• Learning to respect and value diversity
• Being a part if an interdependent community
4. Examples
Creating a simulated United Nations where
each student represents a different country
in the United Nations
Becoming involved in community service
projects or campaigns
Researching different countries and their
contribution to Math and Science fields
5. Role of Technology
Modern technology allows for near instantaneous
communication between people worldwide, which
in turn, makes for globalization.
In education that means being able to be connected
with classmates and teachers in an instant.
Globalization is dependent on communication
technology, and communication technology is in
turn dependent on globalization. Communication
technology is just one of the factors that has played
a major role in spreading globalization, and some
experts believe that globalization would have never
been possible in the absence of communication
technology.
