Holiday Traditions
Analyze Learner
The 4th grade classroom is made up of 20 students. 11 students are girls and 9 are boys. The
classroom culture is diverse with 2 Muslims, 3 Jewish, and 2 African American children.
Learning Styles
The planned activities appeal to visual, auditory, and hands-on learners.
State Objective
My students will appreciate diversity and different cultural holiday traditions by Christmas
break through research and presentation of a randomly assigned holiday that is recognized by a
different student in the classroom as well as listening to holiday songs and watching videos from each
culture with a 100 percent accuracy.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials
The students will be opened up to different media methods by listening to songs and watching
videos. They will also be open to using different type of media and materials in their own personal
presentation.
Utilize Media and Materials
I will arrive to class early to verify that videos are loaded and music is correct. I will also be
prepared to make any necessary adjustments in order for each students presentation to run smoothly
and effectively.
2. Require Learner Participation
Each student will remain respectful and attentive while the other students are presenting their
research. They will also be present for audio songs as well as video representation of each holiday of
the classroom.
Evaluate and Revise
After the return from holiday break, each student will write a reflection comparing and
contrasting their own personal holiday with the holiday they were assigned to present.
