  4. Before we proceed to our lesson let me remind you about our classroom rules in this new normal.

  6. We have known that Occupational Safety and Health is a cross-disciplinary area concerned with protecting the safety, health, and welfare of people engaged in work. We also learned that the goal of all occupational safety and health program is to foster a safe work environment and protect co-workers, family members, employers, customers, suppliers, nearby communities, and other members of the public who are impacted by the workplace environment.

  10. Based on the different situations in the videos shown, what do you think are those all about? Ma’am, it shows different kinds of accidents that happened.
  11. Class, our lesson for today is about the causes and occurrences of all the accidents that you have seen in the videos and it is called hazards and risks. Please open your module on page 26.
  12. LET US first define HAZARD AND RISK.
  13. HAZARDS CAN BE AT HOME WHILE Y0U ARE COOKING, AND WALKING. HAZARDS CAN BE HAPPEN WHILE YOU ARE CLEANING AT SCHOOL, ENTERING A CLASSROOM OR DOING AN ACTIVITY, AND AT THE PLAYGROUND WHILE PLAYING. AND IT CAN BE ON THE ROAD WHILE CROSSING OR WALKING , OR DRIVING AND IT CAN BE HAPPEN AT WORK.
  14. Now you understand the difference between hazard and risk. Let’s proceed to the types of hazards.
  15. BIOLOGICAL,CHEMICAL,MECHANICAL,PHYSICAL, AND ERGONOMIC
  16. As a student while inside the school, where can you get the biological hazards?
  17. Vibrio parahaemolyticus (Vp)- Vp has been linked to gastroenteritis ("stomach flu")
  18. In your house give me an example of Chemical hazards. Here in school, give me an example of chemical hazards. EX. MURIATIC ACID, and CLEANING DETERGENTS. KEEP THIS in a closed cabinet WHEN NOT IN USE AND WEAR PPE WHEN YOU EXPOSE ON IT.

  27. Ma’am ergonomic hazards, because he’s lifting heavy objects which involve physical movement it causes back pain or pain in muscles.
  28. Ma’am physical hazards because of the heat of the sun.
